  1. As a parent of a Hamilton Heights alum, I agree that it doesn't matter whether Hamilton Heights is the best in the city, the state, or the region. That has never been their goal. The administrator consistenly asks Hawks and Lady Hawks fans to not be derogatory towards other teams or players at games or on forums, and to not get into debates on forums about where they are better than anyone else. He also reminds them that the path they have chosen isn't better or worse than TSSAA, just different. As far as playing TSSAA schools, I believe that most of the time the TSSAA schools they play now are by invitation of the school, not by request of Hamilton Heights. I have heard him say many times that if a TSSAA school does not want to play them, he understands completely. Locally, many times they filll in schedules for teams that are missing a game or two or tournament brackets that need another team. I know the girls have played in the Bradley Central tournament for several years and have had a good relationship with the girls coaching staff at BC.
  2. Last night was my first time to get to see Tyner play. Very impressive. The Rock is not an easy game. Several of their seven losses are against teams that are ranked in the top 100. The Rams will represent Chattanooga well. Kudos to Coach Harris for playing in this tournament. He is certainly one of the best in our area.
  3. Winning1, I think if you will check, RedRobin1 is probably not from Hamilton Heights. Most of his posts are about Middle Tennessee sports (usually Ensworth). Since HH played both Ensworth and Brentwood Academy recently, perhaps he wrote on this post because he saw them play. Hamilton Heights has asked its players and fans to not post derogatory comments about other schools, players, etc. and to not make predictions about who they would beat, nor comment about who they have or have not beat. There are some very good teams and players in Chattanooga, Hamilton Heights is thrilled to be a small part of the greater Chattanooga basketball community.
  4. Hamilton Heights lost at Clarkrange last night by about 5. It was a one point game with 50 seconds left and HH shooting a free throw, but there was a technical called on the HH bench that allowed Clarkrange to pull out. The HH girls seemed to have difficulty in the beginning of the game adjusting to the Clarkrange scrapiness and shooting, but soon adjusted. This was the first game any of the starters at HH played together. A few more games under their belt will greatly build their team cohesiveness. It was a great environment. The Clarkrange fans were loud but the entire school was extremely cordial to our players and fans. Every high school kid ought to have the chance to play in that kind of environment at least once. Kudos to Clarkrange
  5. Ruta Savickaite, a 6'4" post from Hamilton Heights has verbally committed to Western Kentucky and will sign her NLI during early signing period.
  6. Coach Stone is an excellent teacher as well as coach. He will be teaching math. How many coaches can do that? Probably had a lot to do with the choice besides the fact that he has kept Hamilton Heights on a successful track with their basketball program. They have had 11 straight twenty win seasons and Michael has continued that record since taking over the program. Plus he is an outstanding young mentor for his students and players. We will miss him greatly at Hamilton Heights and are proud that another school has recognized the talent and program Hamilton Heights has.
