Point man, you're reading way too far into that. I wasn't at all disrespecting C'ville. I think they are the better team at this point, and I have no bias in this matter. I could care less what district prevails. I'm talking about pure talent. Wayne Co is across the board more talented individually than about everyone they play, but you only see flashes of their potential. I believe Byrd could get a lot more out of those girls. Their front line is not only huge (especially w/Bell in the game w/Hammonds and Daniel) but they are also very athletic. Somehow they keep cranking out really good players down there, but they seem to under-achieve way too often.

No one can predict the cwood/stown outcome. Either team is able of beating the other on any given night. It should be a great one with lots of action. I look forward to watching.

Congrats C'ville. Wasn't sure who would prevail here. I think Wayne County has more talent (most times they do) but they don't seem to get it out of the girls. Anyway, wouldn't be a shocker if they went to Forrest and give em a run for their money. Cornersville should get through to state decently easy.

Has anyone saw both Jackson and Jenkins play so as to give a comparison? I've only saw Jenkins and would be greatly surprised if there was a better guard in the state. Exactly correct wreagle71. This kid has an amazing work ethic and is committed to being a great player. His game will elevate with his level of competition both offensively and defensively.

So is Hammonds playing tonight, out for a couple games, or done for season?

Sad to see Jenkins end his High school career tonight.....he's a great talent and an even better person. His work ethic is second to none (I guarantee he works harder than anyone in the state in the off-season). I think he'll be able to step in at Vandy and make an immediate impact.

After hearing all the hype bout Cully, I was sorely disappointed. The Beach twins just aren't skilled players. Yes, they're ok athletes but not basketball skilled and could not score with their backs to the basket....they just looked to pass the ball out back out around the perimeter. Bubba Clifton was the game-changer to me in this game. His energy on both ends of the court and ability to penetrate and dish to the post for easy lay-ins was a huge difference. Neither team could contain penetration very well but S'town had better perimeter spacing and more guards that could get in the lane than did Cully. Good win s'town. Wayne County made a good run in the upset bid of collinwood but their inability to rotate out to shooters and to guard in the post doomed them. Stown and cwood should be another great game like the district c'ship.
