  1. If I am not mistaken, the game is December 4th and is at Jackson Co.? I think the game will be very close and can go either way? Good luck to both teams!
  2. Optionsidiot, Oh ok gotcha. Dickens is a "transfer" correct? or did you recruit her too like heady? How about that game last night options? Sounds to me like if you hadn't had all the help from your "transfers" then CR might have gotten boat raced! Why are you the biggest poster on here that continues to bring up transfers/recruits when you say CR fans were so rude to JC fans when Leonard joined the team? Does this really seem like your the better person here? or the same person you dislike? Most people in our area like to root for the other teams in area to do well....you make it hard for us to root for your team Good game Forrest, played great and shot very well from the floor. Hawn is an excellent player, will be a player to watch this year for sure! I think CR will learn a good lesson from this, they need more experience from the guards as they are young. Good luck Forrest, hope we play at state again!
  3. Freshman class are just Fentress Co middle schoolers who chose CR for high school. Never attended York for high school While that is a true statement they attended York's feeder school. 99.9% of all the kids that go to that middle school go to York Institute for high school. Thats because 99.9% do not play basketball. The incoming freshman can play at any high school they wish, That is the rules. so.... while your statement is true...who cares?
  4. Hey man i'm with you on that but i just thought i would stir the pot a little with the CR fans since some of them were VERY dirty towards Laken and her family 2 years ago and now all of a sudden Clarkrange is getting transfers like Jackson Co has in the past. people like muffin that never say a word on here about CR and all the transfers they are now getting but bash JC because Laken moved from RBS to JC it aint right. Its a two edged sword and now the CR faithful see just how sharp it is. I'm not going to say Clarkrange doesnt win Class A last year without Heady but i guarantee they don't go undefeated without her. She beat JC by herself up there last year and they won several games because of her talent. Now they get another transfer but they don't want to bring that up. Had JC gotten more i guarantee you CR fans would be screaming the "RECRUITING" word just like they did 2 years ago. All i can say is LETS GET IT ON and may the best team win! I am from CR and a CR fan. I didn't say anything about Leonard transferring as I don't care. I think that most people don't, they will root for their team regardless of who they have or do not have. I just don't understand how your trying to get your point across that you didn't like anyone saying that about Jackson Co., by doing the same thing now? It looks like you ARE everything you dislike? Anyway, I hope both teams play great and have great seasons...Good luck!
  5. I think CR will win the game by 15, and should be a good gauge as to where the teams are as said above. As far as the recruiting words go...it boils down the kids wanting to win, and parents wanting whats best for their kids (ie. scholarships, being noticed). When you build a foundation of winning in single A like CR and Jackson Co., kids want to play for the best teams and best coaches. It really is that simple I think?
  6. I would imagine that Livingston schedules Single A schools because the local Single A talent is so good. To be ready to make a run and potentially win a AA state title you need to play good teams to get better. In Livingston's general area there happen to be very good Single A talent. I think playing JC, CR, PC, OS, and some of the other Single A teams is beneficial to Livingston down the road win or lose the regular season games? Just my .02 cents.
  7. It doesn't matter if they had 1,3, or 8 all state players, it is not about individuals, but teams. One team got a gold ball, one got a silver, the other six made the state tournament. All those accomplishments are great and the teams and players should be proud of what they did. I know as a former high school athlete, if I made the all-state team but did NOT win the tournament I would be upset and could care less about individuals? That's just me though?
  8. I seen on AAU's website the team lists for local teams. Is there a website for roster info to see which local players are on which teams? I am curious how some local TN talent is doing?
  9. Just guessing here, but I seriously doubt he makes that much! If so, more power to him, but I do not think this is accurate.
  10. This all-state team was based on just play from the state tournament, so it is not uncommon for multiple players to make the team, especially if some teams only have one good player that carries them. I am not saying this about any team that was playing the state, just the regular season or who is the better all around player does not come into play on the all-state tournament team. You can average 3 points per game during the regular season and average 25 during the tournament and be the MVP, so the team members are skewed to that affect. As far as this rankings of top players, take it with a grain of salt. It reminds me of the BCS in college football?
  11. Sorry, I should have said thanks for encouraging other ignorant posts with your own then.
  12. Several very good teams at state last year could return, but I would have to say the road to the gold ball goes through 7A again. Clarkrange and Jackson Co. will be very tough to beat.
  13. I am a little younger than some (29), but I remember from the late 80's a lot more physical play from a lot less athletically built players. Today's players are probably more physically talented, but the lay out after the loose ball, run over your Mom to get the ball, has went down as a whole. You see some players, but rarely teams, that really get the team concept from from one end of your bench to the other like in years past. Just my two cents.
  14. As you said, she is a special player. Most kids, as you also said, do not get to play as freshman anywhere. That being said, would it not be better to sit and learn from one of the best coaches and play some of the best competition? I agree with some of your points, but it is very uninformed to think that all of a sudden CR is recruiting these players in or getting 5 freshman is what is going to make CR compete or win. Winning programs attract players who want to win as well as negative attention from everywhere else.
  15. I think they played very well last year during tournament time. They all got on the same page at the right time. That experience and confidence should parlay into a good season this year. As per the norm, I think 7A will put out several really good teams this year.
  16. Who are these so many people that are worried? They are not from CR. I believe from what i have saw and/or heard from the camps the starters or top 6-7 players will be three seniors, two juniors, and two sophomores. So it is spread out as usual. As for the freshman, like in my other posts, everything is blown out of proportion. The freshman coming in are good young players, but not starters in CR or where they came from. The thought is; it is better to sit on the bench for a year or two, then be a BETTER player do to competition and coaching than sit on the bench at another school for a couple years and be the same player! The future as always looks bright, wouldn't you think with all this "transferring talent" everyone talks so much about coming in?
  17. That is why everyone should get over it already. Just let the kids play. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  18. As many of have read I am sure, everything gets blown out of proportion. I have attended several of the CR open gym sessions and am around the "talk" during these gym shoot arounds. Carly is a good player and can be a great player as she is just a sophomore. If she was on last years team, she probably would not have even started. This year losing Phillips inside makes her arrival that much more in the public eye. The other "transfers" are all freshman whom none will probably start, but at least one will get some playing time. This is just what I have heard and/or witnessed. So the talk of 7 players transferring to CR and that we will automatically win the state again is ridiculous. They will have a good team again this year as always whether people transfer or not. The people on here that is mad, is mad because no one wants to play for their team? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  19. How many girls lost a spot on the team? I am sure no other team in the state of Tennessee has 7 new players this year? The rules are set and clear, if you do not like what happens in Clarkrange or anywhere else, talk to TSSAA. Like you said above... enough really is enough? /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  20. I think this thread is asking if this years team was the best team CR has produced, not saying it was the best TEAM any school has produced? Maybe I am wrong?
  21. I sat with some older fans a college coach during the finals, all four seniors from CR are going to the next level for sure. Only one has signed so far, but all four got offers.
  22. Did you watch LL play this weekend? Nope. I think they both had comparable stats for the year and KC took her team to the state. I think KC being a senior deserved the award. LL will be a senior next year and her team will be a favorite for the state tourney, I just think sometimes the body of work is and should be considered. I know LL has had a great career also, but she is an underclassmen, and when its this close, the senior should prevail. just my opinion.
  23. I almost agree with the post, I think LL played a great post season last year, and a had another great season this year, but after watching both her and KC play this year, I still think KC was better THIS year. That being said, LL also deserves the award and these discussions should take that away from her. I did not get to see the girl from McEwen play, but assume she also deserved the award.
  24. I understand, but the same principle applies, 30-1 during regular season vs. 3-25, player A wins with a better team finish! As it should be...
