  1. Ravenwood over Father Ryan 3-0. Good game
  2. Father Ryan 4 Gallatin 0 Ravenwood 3 McMinn County 0
  3. Agree with Akula regarding his Ravenwood comments and about their midfield in particular. Have seen them play on several occasions this year already and they appear to have good depth in most positions. Both center mids are legit D1 college level players. Saunders is headed to St Mary's and Linder will certainly sign someplace as well. IF Ravenwood continues to be successful I can see both of them garnering All State honors.
  4. Out in MID TN we have David Lipscomb traveling to Ravenwood on Tuesday, 3/2
  5. If you mean the only current ODP player you're correct. You won't see Saunders listed any longer because he played for the '91's the past few years. Very good player that makes those around him better. Still think he should be considered given his impact. I don't believe Ravenwood has the kind of year they had without him.
  6. Hard to say and we could all speculate. I saw many Ravenwood games during the year including earlier wins against both Brentwood and Hendersonville (Hendersonville was only preseason so admittedly of questionable value) and agree with Tyson that Ravenwood wasn't the same after concussions to McGuinness and Saunders. Every team has injuries they have to work through so Brentwood/Hendersonville/Farragut and others deserve credit for raising their games when it counted! I agree with Tyson though that Saunders, McGuinness, and Linder deserve all-state consideration. I don't know how many postings we've seen throughout the year about Ravenwoods center mids (Linder & Saunders) but they were outstanding. The good news is we get to see this ODP tandem work together again next year.

    11 AAA?

One game at a time......there's still Antioch and McGavock to contend with............THAT'S WHY THEY PLAY THE GAMES. Ya just never know. If games line up on Thursday as you suggest I like your predictions. Curious to know more about the LaVergne win at Hendersonville as my perception is H'ville will be very tough at home, particularly this late in the year. Finally, though I too like R'wood over B'wood, it could easily go either way. I've seen both games they've played thus far and they're pretty evenly matched. I like R'wood's midfield but like B'wood up top with their speed. Game #3 between them will be a close one and really could go either way but like R'wood's depth and they should have McGuinness and Saunders back at full strength which they didn't have last week when B'wood won the district title.

    11 AAA?

In the event Ravenwood and Brentwood both manage to win tomorrow what happens on Thursday as far as the seeding, venue, etc. goes? For example, would the winner play their next game at home against a lower seeded sectional opponent? IF they play on Thursday it will be a super match to watch. They've each won one. Have to give Brentwood the edge because of their experience and because they've "been there and done that". Wouldn't be greatly surprised though if Ravenwood wins as they're very talented as well. Just depends on who brings their A Game that particular night with these two!

    11 AAA?

You're correct. Sorry. It was 2 - 1 and agree it will be a good, close game tonight if they play at all. I'd give edge to Ravenwood, especially given the extra time Brentwood had to go last night vs. Centennial. Ravenwood midfielders once again will be the difference.
  10. Thanks. Looks like Ravenwood has the most players named. Great year for them and congrats to their coach Watson too!
  11. Heard mention yesterday about several players making the All District team for 11 AAA. Anyone know where complete listings can be found?

    11 AAA?

Tonite's win by Ravenwood was very similar to the previous game played a couple weeks ago. Indy played hard, never gave up, but Ravenwood controlled play throughout. Ravenwood managed to finish on several chances this time was really the only difference that I saw. Good effort by both teams.

    11 AAA?

Ravenwood plays Brentwood tomorrow night at 7pm at Cheek Park in Franklin for the District Championship. A rematch of an earlier season game where Ravenwood won 2 - 0. Both teams advance to regional play next week.

    11 AAA?

Sure, just like Indy dominated play week before last when they played. LOL
  15. I see your point about a coach leaving a heated player in the game. By not pulling him it could even be seen by the players, in a way, as the coach condoning the behavior. I still can't get away though from thinking that while coaches, refs, parents, and fans all have ways of influencing (good or bad) the players emotions and thus their actions, I remain of the opinion that a player has a choice, or not, to fight or engage in actions we all know (including the players) are unacceptable. It's too bad this has happened. I feel bad for the parents, fans, and coaches who were excited to see their boys play in the postseason but now will be unable to do so.
