  1. well i really would like to see maryville blow riverdale out.....thats probably unlikely, but if that does happen it sure will make us guys at McMinn feel much better....just to think we got beat twice by the best team in the state. I really think this will be a good game, i hope maryville whips them, that will just be a bit out of the ord. This is the semis guys its time to really see some good football. good luck to both teams.
  2. I have ine question for anyone who can answer it....who does the rankings for football is the state of tennessee? I really do not see how a 5-5 team is ranked higher than a 9-3 team that has 2 losses to maryville and it really doesnt make sense to me so someone help me out.
  3. I must really say that from not seeing too much of farragut and having seen maryville twice this season i would really like to think maryville could beat them. I only say this because a person who loses to someone wants that team to keep winning that way their loss doesnt really stand out that much lol. We finished the season 9-3 and 2 losses came to the potential state champion Maryville. So goodluck to both teams and the cherokees will be ready next year.
  4. Well today is the day.....finally here i believe the anticipation for the fans has been more so than that of the players.....Mcminn is ready and knows that the athletes are in our locker room. I guess its time make it happen. GO TRIBE!!!!
  5. The thing about it guys.....its playoffs now and any team can can win on any given night. Mistakes happen and miscues occur. The teams that limit the amounts of either of these usually have the better chance to move on. I know GQ is a great coach and has been doing it for years. He makes those teams that may not be as talented, as the others they play, turn into a well oiled machine. So big ups to him and the success of the power house known as Maryville. Now i want to add that mcminn has been a winning program for 20 years and have not ever won a state championship....they have never even played in one. As a matter a fact they havent ever played past the 3rd round....this team is ready to break that tradition and have the look of champions. They are ready to get over the hump. I hope that this is a great game....one that is talked about for years, but the cherokees will bring their A game and maaryville will too, so lets just hope for a battle and a MCHS victory. The game will come down to the kids on the field....if they need to know fundamentals now than they dont need to be in the playoffs and all the teams left are all the real deal.....Lets get ready for a classic. MCHS is hungry so lets get ready to eat........GO TRIBE!!!!!!!!
  6. Yes i will agree with that...they following is usually really good. THis year at Rhea county you could have counted the fans there. Usually this time of year the fans pour out and the more we win the more they show....So i hope that we get another chance to have a good home field crowd.
  7. I really hope that the cherokee nation follows the tribe and gives some support. I really think that followers are there because it makes a world of difference when you look at the home side and there arent any empty seats, and when you look at the visitors side and the band is the crowd. We need alot of fans to come out and suppport the team. You could be seeing history, so its always nice to be around for that type of stuff. GO TRIBE !!!
  8. On the remarks about coaching being a factor.....i think that is just a huge miskew of words. THe head coach has done a tremendous job reforming the program that was 3-7, 3-7, and 6-4. He came in with a bunch of undiciplined kids who didnt want to conform to the identity that the coach wanted. Now that the coach is having success people believe that he hurts the team. Thats a bunch of junk he has really brought a huge difference to these guys who were once individuals, now they are a team. The players have never wanted anything more than to keep playing and that comes from the coaches attitudes as well. THe head coach calls the plays, but think about this......he cant go out there and make the play for them. We are still dealing with 14-18 year old kids. They arent pros. SO i give props and big ups to the head coach. GO TRIBE!!!!!! (from a true cherokee fan)
  9. well not losing at home since 2001 is great....for them. like is said the wow factors dont really get to the kids from mcminn, they come from a twon that has really nothing but football, so getting wow'ed is something that they are over now.
  10. Ok guys the thing about maryville is that when teams go there for the first time they are hit with the WOW factor...I believe mcminn has seen the wow factor alot this year and are used to it. The issue when ooltewah came to mcminn there were like 3 or for tv stations, comcast had the game on , and espn radio was there, the guys seemed to like it and thought the attention was for them rather than Big #36. I believe this game will come down to who makes the least amount of mistakes. I think that the cherokees defense has done a complete reconstruction since the first match up and maryville has stayed the same all year. There same is good though. THey are not a tennessee power house for no reason.I know that the tribe will be ready this time and i am looking for the upset. GO TRIBE!!!!
  11. I really believe that the mcminn team is a heck of a lot better....the thing is mcminn is very good up front, and done a great job against maryville the first game. They were missing 2 starters and still moved the ball down the field. They just couldnt put it in the endzone. I know that is where it matters, but this week will be alot different this team is ready and starting with a clean slate. Go TRIBE!!!!!! Prediction later this week....
  12. Again i would like to talk about the Mcminn County players COnner Vestal and Justin Arnwine. This past week they took on the challenge of the previous Mr. Football Jaques Smith. Smith is an animal and has dominated every game this year. Vestal and Arnwine held their own against him and Smith had a somwhat quiet night. Vestal plays tackle and done a great job on Smith, Arnwine just seemed to out power anyone who lined up on him.....Go TRIBE
  13. Congrats to zac.....its always good to see a kid from the mcminn area do well. even though im a die hard cherokee im still glad to see this area send players to college.
  14. Well if you knew anything about football other than following the bears you would know that at the mcminn cleveland fight it wasnt bench clearing, the kids that got threw out from cleveland threw punches and there was one kid from mcminn that fot threw out.....so know all the info before you make a fool of yourself on here
  15. I really believe that Mcmnn Co. has two of the better O-Linemen around in austin arnwine and conner vestal......vestal is strong and mean, something that is hard to find in a good linemen these days. He also has very good feet i think that will help him play at the next level.
