No doubt Richland will be good this year. Not real sure what happened with Houston Co. last year but they will be good. Been hearing down at the truckstop that some of them lady bulldogs from Cornersville been working hard all winter long. That truck driver told me that they may not win but they will be stronger and faster than years past. He said that Hopkins/Wolaver would be just fine on that mound that has that downward slope and that the hitting would be just as strong as it was last year. He said the defense is all returning. That truck driver also mentioned (as he walked back to his truck) that 3-4 time transfer Hasty would be playing at Giles county this year.

Riverside did do a good job! They didn't hang there heads down 4 to 1 in the bottom of the 8th against Cornersville. They kept digging and pulled the game out. I think Riverside and Cornersville were underdogs because all the talk was about Coalfield and Grace. Cornersville did let it be known that they were there.

NOITALL, You had Cornersville picked at the first of the year. Dont ever second guess yourself!

I think they got beat by Bolton 4 to 3 Then Bolton got beat by Baylor somewhere around 14 to 3. Scores are close but may not be exact.

Cornersville beat Lipscomb like 14-1 or something like that. Then Cornersville beat Ravenwood 5 to 4 Then Cornersville beat Beech 4 to 1 Then they played Baylor and lost 7 to 3 after Cornersville had a 3 to 0 lead going into the third inning or so. Baylors bats got hot somewhere around the fourth inning. Cornersville left at least 3 or 4 on base in that game. Cornersville looked like a new team.

She also held Lawerance County to 2 runs for 4 and 2/3 innings. She is doing an outstanding job!

Cornersville went 0 - 3! Lose to Lincoln 2-0, Lose to Moore Co. 3-1(B-Team) and Tied oakland 0-0. This was Cornersvilles first games of the season and they got better as the day went on.

Cornersville will miss Hopkins theres no doubt. Cornersville had a good middle school team two years ago when they placed second in the columbia academy tournament, beat by a very good team from Heritage middle. I am sure several of them girls from that team are still lerking, and waiting for the opportunity to make their move. Stay tuned!

I have to agree with Hunter1. Meagan Prince will be good this year. Not the best because of her age, I havent seen her in two years but if she has progressed from two years ago she will be tough in the next few years. Haley Fagan will be very tough in single A this year.

New to the high school scene! Could someone tell me exactly where this tournament is being played? Looks like alot of good competition and wouldnt mind coming and watching some of these teams play. Thanks for the help!

Actually, Heritage did win the tournament but Cornersville got second place! Richland and Moore Co. tied for third! The championship game was Heritage 7 Cornersville 2.
