I couldn't disagree with you more. The play at second was legal and the runner is required to slide and entitled to "take out" the 2nd basemen in an attempted to break up the double play. I also disagree that Eagleville was "the best competition" that Riverside faced in the tournament.

There has been a lot of things said on this thread. Some true, some not. Here are a few facts that might shed some light on the original question......How fast does Decatur Co. Stephen Gant throw? Gant throws fast enough and smart enough to have 132 K's in his Soph. year, 8 or 9 shutouts, a 27-2 record so far, a State runner up and a State Chapionship title, MVP in the State Championship....the list goes on and on. Hope that clarifies things a bit.

Correction....USJ self-reported that a student/ahtlete (NOT GANT) was more than 60 days late on tuition. The loss of the title had nothing to do do with playong an out of county player. Private schools are not zoned the same and Gant was legal. Beside he transfered in his 8th grade year. No sports record to be of issue. Just so you know. The older Gant kid (Clayton) was an out of county player. He wasn't the ineligible player that cost USJ the State Champonship in 05.

no, i'm sorry but i do not believe this at all. i have played against him and have seen him pitch a few times. he is a great pitcher, but throws maybe low 80's. i have batted against him and unless he has gained unbelievable speed in one year, this is not true. summertown is looking to be tough and they play cascade to open there season up so we'll see owns up to all the hype.... hahahhahaha "Maybe low 80's" hahahahaha.
