  1. Now? I paid 10 bucks last Friday and the concession prices rivaled Neyland, ridiculous.
  2. PlaCall ... If thats what you wanna call Gibbs football then yeah I guess I do like watching paint dry but if watching Gibbs is like that then I guess going to watch my other local team, Halls, is like watching a dog be put to sleep. Gibbs is competitive and plays hard, thats why I spend my money to watch them play. I have been going to Halls games over the past couple of years because they are a little closer but its embarrassing to watch them. I'm pleased with the product Gibbs is putting on the field, seem well coached and play with a lot of heart. Two things I doubt you know much about.
  3. If the Eagles can't stop the inside run, power, then it will be another long night. Gibbs offense has shown alot, not sure if they even have anything new to throw at GP to keep the defense guessing. I'm not picking but I'll definately travel to Gibbs rather than watch Halls or Powell lose, at least Gibbs is competitive so its the easy choice of travel down Emory on my Friday nights.
  4. I've seen Gibbs play once, and Grace play in the Jamboree ... so take my prediction for what it is worth. Gibbs better come out to play or they could have their hands full from the get go. Grace spreads it around when they aren't running the Wing T so Gibbs will have to play disciplined on defense, that is for sure. Don't know what adjustments Grace will make on defense but they better do something different than the 4-3 they put on the field in the Jamboree. If they don't it will be a long night, Gibbs 35 Grace 14. I'm leaving my home in Halls and travelling down Emory Rd. to watch the Eagles instead of the Devils or Panthers that I have been watching the first three weeks. Good luck Eagles.
  5. No that isn't offensive because in your last statement you gave Gibbs some credit, where as before you gave them no credit whatsoever and only talked about how they were winning because everybody they play sucks.
  6. Yeah maybe the teams they are playing aren't as good as they have been in the past, but you are giving no credit to Gibbs. I guess things can't change from the past, I guess new coaches can't bring in a breath of fresh air, and I guess Gibbs is terrible like the past. I don't care who you are playing but when a team scores 60, 38, and 46 points in their first three games against schools with similar enrollment there is some talent, heart, and talent hitting the field each week. Give me a break. I'm just happy I live close enough to drive down the road to watch them since the other teams I'm close too aren't that good. So if you are going to be a critical of Gibbs scheduling and how they have sucked in the past, at least give them some credit about playing their guts out with class each week!
  7. If who beats the Devils? Gibbs? Might want to look at the schedule. If Gibbs beats Halls it would be an absolute miracle since they don't play. Doubt you'll be streaking down the middle of the field on Senior Night. Halls coaches have to do a better job of getting these kids in a better position to win. I'm not a Halls guy but I do go to alot of their games because they are close. I may start going down Emory Road a little farther on Friday nights to watch Gibbs or Powell, at least their coaching staffs are apparently giving them a good chance to win. Hope Halls figures it out because I love the atmosphere there when they are competitive, but two delay of game penalties in a row to get them out of field goal range late in the game is just unacceptable. One thing I did like was the head coach taking credit for it in the paper, trying to take some pressure off of his offensive coordinator who is taking ALOT of heat on here and in the community.
  8. Down 16-0 at half, up two scores with two minutes left and lose, sounds like an emotional rollercoaster. Tough loss for Claiborne but sounds like a great game to have been at Friday. Warm up the buses chant has to be a learning experience for those students haha.
  9. I don't know anything about Claiborne but I'm sure it has been a long, long, long time since Gibbs has dismantled someone like they did Grainger. When teams that don't normally do that, start the year like that, they have tendencies to get the big head and think they are awesome when they should be maintaining composure and work ethic towards continuing the win streak. I just hope Gibbs doesn't come out cocky and get punched right in the mouth, if this happens it could be a long night for the Eagles. One thing that should keep this from happening is strong leadership from within the team, hopefully the senior class at Gibbs has good leaders to keep the team focused. TOO MUCH CONFIDENCE = LOSS Grounded yet confident = Win
  10. CG will beat them as bad as they want. Union County won't win a game this year. Not being mean to Union County fans, just stating the truth. I hate to see any team go 0-10 but I believe they will.
  11. I talked to someone from Gibbs and they said EVERY KID ON THE TEAM played Friday Night, and people are griping about running the score up? I guess they should have went to the community park and got the midget team to play the fourth quarter? I saw the score and assumed they ran it up, but it was 46-14 at half, correct?
  12. Well you will definately hear it now but Halls needs people like you now more than ever. I'm not a Halls guy but I just know how my community would have reacted if this had happened when I was in high school. You obviously know more detail about the vast underachievement than I do.
  13. Well Halls guy I hope you aren't one of only a few that won't pile on him so his back doesn't break. Sounds like you are a better man than I. I watched a few Halls games last year and I was not very impressed with them, especially with all the good things I had heard about their team going into last year. Maybe all of this will work out and this blunder will be over looked with greener pastures coming for Halls Football.
  14. Doesn't make him look smart? IT MAKES HIM LOOK LIKE A FOOL. I had to post a reply to this topic, I usually get on and just read as guest but this coach HAS TO GET THE CATHOLIC JOB! If he doesn't Halls Football will go down the tube. Catholic, plase hire this man because he has cut his own throat in the Halls Community from what I know. If he doesn't want to be at Halls, which is obvious, then why would the kids want to play for him? At least that is the mindset I would have if my head coach quit to take another job, and only 12 hours later the job was gone... If I'm the principal I may just open the football job up since he obviously does not want to be the coach.
