  1. These two teams probably aren't top 4 material, but i would be willing to put a bet that Rockwood and Grace should be playing in the Boro. If not both but definitely one!
  2. I agree, the problem is region 1. To my knowledge, Region 2 has only won one time up there. Not very good statistics for the Region runner-up! lol
  3. Called that game right! Harriman beat Grace 4-1 in the first game of the double-header! Grace took the second game 7-2. This put's Rockwood and Grace tied at first with 2 district losses a piece.
  4. Two good teams that you could very well see going to the Boro next month! Should be two great games!
  5. There's a pretty intrguing game tomorrow in District play. Grace comes to Harriman. I've said it this whole season that Harriman is a team capable of pulling an upset. They had Rockwood on the ropes at some points during both games they played them, and overall I truly believe Rockwood is a bit better all around than Grace. If Harriman can hit the ball and Randolph can keep his composure, look for Harriman to possibly steal one from Grace. This district tournament should be very interesting.
  6. The only real problem Rockwood has is pitching depth. Outside of Breazeale they don't have much on the hill at all. They've been throwing a freshman as their number 2 guy during district's so it's good experience. When Breazeale isn't pitching Rockwood MUST have the bats going, which they've done a great job with so far. If Rockwood plays their cards right they should be taking a trip to state this May along with Grace.
  7. No problem brother! Hope to see your team in the Buro come May!
  8. Skydogg- I just checked out about every piece i could of the BBS baseball website and I was thoroughly impressed! I'm from around the knoxville area and a former baseball player as well! With Football being the main sport around here, i'm very glad there are teams that take great pride in their baseball programs and it seems you all do a great job! I'm not all crazy about private schools i'll have to be honest, but I would be lying if I said the product of your baseball program wasn't impressive because it looks great! Keep it up!
  9. It's proven to be one of the more consistent districts in east Tennessee for single a. Almost every year 1 team is going to state from this district. I believe two can go this year, Grace and Rockwood. It should be a good district season but teams to not sleep on would first of all be Harriman, aside from last year they've been right with Grace with for the top the past few seasons. Harriman has some solid pitching brought back from last year and surprisingly they've got the bats going for what it's worth. If they're on their game they can hang with the likes of Rockwood and give them trouble.
  10. You're right, you catch a team on an outstanding year and they can beat teams. The problem is: how many teams do you see on the single A level doing it year in and year out? Out of how many are private schools? When you magically have transfers piling in every year it's hard for a smaller publi school to compete wih a private whether you like the facts or not.
  11. That's right man!! Who doesn't love March Madness? As Dickey V would say "IT'S AWESOME BABY WITH A CAPITAL A!!!!! SEC tournament starts up tonight too!!
  12. Hey man what can I say, I get excited! I'm definitely going out on a limb with some of my picks, i'm just ready to get it started to watch it all play out!
  13. 1st Round Humboldt over MTP by 12 Wartburg over C-Range by 14 Knox Grace over Richland by 5 Watertown over Lake Co. by 8 2nd Round Wartburg over Humboldt by 3 Watertown over Grace by 10 Championship Wartburg over Watertown by 4
  14. I'll take Wartburg. They just have too much firepower for Clarkrange. I think Wartburg got a good draw with the bracket they're in. Definitely have a chance to make it to the championship game!
  15. Just shadowing what Rufus said, they stretch that zone out and sometimes even to 3/4 quart at times. They have a kid about 6 3 or 6 4 that can shoot! BOTTOM LINE: if Grace is on from behind the line they're hard to stop, if it's just another average night then you've got a great chance of beating them! Size wise they're about what you could expect from a 1A school. Not anybody enormously big!
  16. Should be a great one, the two most consistent teams in the Region will be at it tonight at 7:30! It's a shame one of them has to go home!
  17. I was out of town and going on what some people told me that were there. I do know Harriman led after the first quarter and most of the second half, that's coming from our AD. Hopefully that will be a bump and they'll regain that fire they had in the district tournament and take it to Wartburg tonight!!!
  18. Judging by how frustrated a couple of their players were after the first quarter I highly doubt they threw the game.. If you throw it you expect to lose and usually aren't frustrated if you're losing
  19. Coach Jeffers- The Harriman/OS game was pretty good! Harriman got up big and played alot of their bench down the stretch and didn't play well and it allowed OS to catch back up! It wasn't as close as the score shown BUT managing the game has got to be better against Wartburg!!! ThrillaNvanilla- While I think your spot on, I think the experience at this point in the season is about equal.. This is the third time in the past four years these seniors have been in this position have been very successful! The Fountain vs X Man show should be one to watch! IF Harriman plays anything like they played against Grace then Wartburg might be in for it, but if Harriman can't put together their best ball then i believe Wartburg advances again to the region championship! History is on Harriman's side in this game but we shall see how the present plays out tomorrow!!!!! GO HARRIMAN!!!!!!!
  20. It'd be nice to see all 4 alive. Especially if Rockwood can knock Wartburg down!
  21. That'd be the best thing to say after a smack down like that!! But that's ok if they did because: TO BE THE BEST YOU GOTTA PLAY THE BEST! Getting out of Wartburg's quad isn't going to make it a cake walk by any means! They've got a stiff quad up there too
  22. No doubt, I think Wartburg is still the best team in the region tournament. Do I think they're playing the best right now? No! I think the hottest team going into this region tournament has to be Harriman, and not just because i pull for them either. The fact is they shot at 50 percent or above for the district tournament and played the best defense i've saw. They also held Grace's best shooter and probably the best in the district in Trey Jeffers to where he had maybe 5 points! I think Rockwood is more than capable of beating Wartburg, they've had them on the ropes twice already and they've let it slip away. Coach K is outstanding and I might be wrong but I find it hard to see him getting swept by Wartburg when he's been this close both times! I'll go with Rockwood for the upset!! At least that's what i'm hoping for anyways! Coalfield at Grace should be interesting. Whoever wins that, I won't be surprised! Coalfield does a great job on the boards and can play tough defense (really tight Defense is what led Harriman to blow Grace out!). So I think if Coalfield can put it all together for 32 minutes then they have a legitimate chance of knocking off the Rams on their own court! I think advantage still goes to Grace and their shooters with it being at their place. Midway at Sunbright, I've watched both teams several times this season. I have the upmost respect for Sunbright. A small town school doing big things! I'm not taking anything away from them when I say this BUT, from the times i've saw them they just haven't looked like a WOW team. I watched them beat a Harriman team by 11 in one of Harriman's worst games i've saw them play. No excuses they beat Harriman, but it makes me wonder how they will fare if MIdway, a team similiar to Harriman is on their A game! I could just be wishing this but I get the strong feeling Midway will come to play with this being one loss and done now. My pick is Midway! Despite my picks I think we'll more likely see the semi-final like this: Harriman vs Wartburg Grace vs Midway
  23. Oliver Springs at Harriman Rockwood at Wartburg Coalfield at Grace Midway at Sunbright Harriman and Sunbright seem to be the 2 hottest teams right now. This should be an excellent tournament! Wartburg definitely looks to have the toughest road having to face Rockwood in the first round, then probably facing Harriman in the semis will be a tough stretch!
  24. Sure can't coach Jeffers lol they'll be facing off in the first round!! I was wrong BIG TIME!!
  25. HARRIMAN WINS 72-53!!!!!!!!!! The BIG BLUE never trailed in this game and they completely shut Grace's stars down! Congratulations to Xavier Howard on being tournament MVP and 3 others for Harriman being selected all-tournament team!!! Harriman will host Oliver Springs in the first round of the Region Tournament Saturday at 7PM @ Richard Pickell Gymnasium and will face the winner of the Rockwood vs Wartburg game, which could be a great game!! Congrats to the Blue Devils on their 3rd district title in the past 4 years!!!!!
