Could LA & MC meet in sub-state? I saw the playday between these @Alcoa. Couldn't resist seeing 2 teams that year after year are the amoung the best in the state. Both have great coaches, both play pressure basketball all over the court, and both have talented players. MC was better that day, but LA played earlier in the day and was not as "fresh" as MC. Would love to see them play again, both are capable of winning State.

Great to see East Tn schools in the poll. Maybe....just maybe one can finally win state.

Stone better bring their A game. CAK doesn't "look" all that impressive in warm-ups, but when the game starts they play really well. They play great defense and handle the ball well. Also have a solid post player. The key to beating CAK is stopping their PG...she's a left-handed 8th grader that drives to basket and shoots well (scored 26 vs Alcoa).If this girl has foul trouble, bad shooting night, or is stopped from driving left etc., then CAK is in trouble. Should be a good game, as most all games in this district will be.

Sounds like who ever shakes off the rust from holidays and cancellations will take early district lead. CAK looked very good vs Alcoa. Alcoa did bounce back last night to defeat Kingston 62-43. With Scott and Loudon playing well the district should be fun to watch. Can't wait to the tournament!

Who pays for a tournament in Hawaii and a week later a trip to Arizona ? Also, how many days of school did they miss ?

Looks like 4 AA may be a close race.... Several teams are off to a great start. Scott undefeated ! Alcoa 6-2 several wins over AAA teams. Stone has some tough losses but playing good teams early pays off later. Loudon and Kingston also look good. Haven't seen CAK scores.....

1 CAK..... Being a Private they can easily reload*** 1 Alcoa... Brings back all except 1...Have very talented freshman guard 1 Stone... Has a good group of Seniors or Juniors that travel together. 2 Rest of field will find it tough to crack top 3 ***Since this district formed last year, CAK has won every district title in all sports except football.

I agree 12's will a good tournament. I've seen Elite and Trotters this year. Elite looks stronger. KGC is always good should be a good semi final and final.

Predictions ? 9u - Lady Trotters, Team Pride 10u - Team Pride, TN Select 11u - Team Pride, TN Elite 12u - TN Elite, KGC Pride 13u - Team Pride, TN Threat Have seen about half of these so I may have made some oversights. Can't pick older groups, have not seen most of them.

Just a guess.....Team Pride Girls that are recuited to MTCS at Elementary and Middle school level, can not have tuition asst at High School unless they go DII. Which IMO they should do....what a powerhouse they would be. They would have Gold Balls lining the hallways !

Heard that there are grade and/or class problems. Probably just some wishful thinking from Heritage fans.

You may or may not be the smartest person alive, but I think you hit the nail on the head with this one. Rumors today have the Maryville move in jeopardy.

IMO The only reason to join AAU is Nationals. Tax exempt status is also a good perk if you pay for Level 3. My daughter played in Nationals last year and it was a great experience for her. This year we started a local team and played 50 games. We did not join AAU since we felt we could not get past substate. But we played against AAU teams almost every weekend and no tournament barred us because we were not AAU. Next year we may join AAU and play D2. Things that I think would help participation include: 1- More AAU only tournaments...at good locations. 2- Changing AAU rule that girls can only compete at different age levels if they play for same club. (we have 2 girls that this effects). My daughter plays with Team Pride in AAU events, but can not play with a local team in AAU National Events. This rule favors the large clubs. The small clubs with 1 or 2 teams go YBOA so they can keep good players that play AAU. 3- Allow more than 2 teams to advance past substate. Maybe allow 4 teams and make State a 16 team tournament (make it a "big deal") so that going there would be a great experience like Nationals. Got some other ideas, but gotta get ready for Orlando....go Team Pride !
