  1. I know Graham's winning percentage stands at .826 right now. I was wondering who is number one and what is his winning percentage?
  2. Thanks for the info. And yes you do have a lot to be proud of with the Viking teams of the early 70's. I was too young to really remember, but I can remember my dad telling me some stories about those great teams up there. As a loyal DB fan he had tremendous respect for you guys.
  3. And just for those that love to hate DB, here is theirs; not too bad Only 4 early losses in 12 years and several semi games to balance it out. Not as bad as the haters make it sound: 1996 AAAAA Karns W 33-0 Early Round AAAAA Hendersonville L 35-27 Early Round 1997 AAAAA Bearden W 28-0 Early Round AAAAA Oak Ridge W 26-7 Early Round AAAAA Sevier County L 33-12 Quarterfinal 1998 AAAAA Karns W 35-7 Early Round AAAAA Science Hill W 44-8 Early Round AAAAA Oak Ridge W 24-21 Quarterfinal AAAAA Oakland L 21-7 Semifinal 1999 AAAAA Heritage W 23-21 Early Round AAAAA Oak Ridge L 28-25 Early Round 2000 AAAAA Farragut W 41-14 Early Round AAAAA Bearden W 39-3 Early Round AAAAA Oak Ridge W 32-6 Quarterfinal AAAAA Red Bank L 21-13 Semifinal 2001 AAAAA William Blount L 26-19 Early Round 2002 AAAAA William Blount W 48-0 Early Round AAAAA Oak Ridge W 21-14 Early Round AAAAA Jefferson County W 26-15 Quarterfinal AAAAA Riverdale L 14-9 Semifinal 2003 AAAAA Soddy-Daisy W 28-6 Early Round AAAAA McMinn County W 31-6 Early Round AAAAA Oak Ridge L 35-17 Quarterfinal 2004 AAAAA Ooltewah W 21-14 Early Round AAAAA Soddy-Daisy W 17-7 Early Round AAAAA Oak Ridge L 24-14 Quarterfinal 2005 AAAAA Ooltewah L 20-17 Early Round 2006 AAAAA William Blount L 13-10 Early Round 2007 AAAAA Oak Ridge W 21-14 Early Round AAAAA Farragut L 28-6 Early Round 2008 AAAAA McMinn County L 28-24 Early Round Just curious how these results compare with the last 12 years for Sullivan South? Do you have their playoff statistics? How many years has it been since we missed the playoffs?
  4. I don't think that an early season loss helps them as much as a No. 1 Ranking hurts them.
  5. Just curious: What do you think is Chris' best chance of playing major college ball? Is it offense or defense?
  6. Seems like we've heard this song before. Actually about 16 times.......but at least it does have a new verse.
  7. I will explain to you about the test scores too if you can keep up. The KPT school system includes hundreds of inner city kids that live below the poverty line (i.e. Riverview and Highland). These kids historically don't score high on achievement tests. South has very few of these kids. But even with these kids scores averaged in, we still have enough students who excel at academics to put us among the elite schools in the state. As far as the article I have already made up my mind. It's not like DB has Newsweek in their hip pocket. They don't know East TN folks from Adam. They have no reason to not be objective.
  8. Typical response, when you can't win an argument you attack the source. The only people critical of the list are from the schools that didn't make it. Grow up.
  9. Just curious, how many times has South made the Newsweek magazine list of Top High Schools in America? KINGSPORT - Dobyns-Bennett High School has been named by Newsweek magazine as one of the top high schools in the country for the sixth time. The report, issued this week, lists more than 1,400 schools that made the grade based on data collected by the magazine. To determine the top high schools, Newsweek takes the total number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or Cambridge tests given at a school in May, and divides that figure by the number of seniors graduating in May or June. All public schools listed achieved a ratio of at least 1.000, meaning they had given as many tests in 2008 as they had graduates. Those schools with a 1.000 ratio are listed on the Newsweek website, and the 100 schools with the highest ratios are named in the magazine. The rankings, according to the magazine, identify the top 5% of high schools in the country.
  10. It's too early to worry about polls. I'm just waiting for King Obama (or as I like to call him Jimmy Carter on steroids) to self destruct, and he's well on his way. The reason I haven't been on here is that frankly there's been nothing said on here worth responding too. But I am glad to know you missed me!
  11. The problem I have is with the timing of it......right in the middle of a major recession and TN unemployment approaching 10%. My guess is a lot of empty seats.
  12. With more than a hundred boys turning out for the very first camp, I think Coach Clark had to be pleased. I hope the camp catches on and gets bigger and bigger every year the way the Jason Witten camp has.
  13. Unfortunately the KCVB picked the hottest weekend of the year for the matchups. 90 degree heat and full uniforms don't go together. But I like the concept. I look for it to make a lot of the areas skill players better come August.
