  1. Ryan Frye is a great basketball player... He is not only a scorer, but he is also an unselfish player... I have talked to opposing coaches in regard to him.. I have been told that the only knack on him in anyone's scouting report is the fact that he doesn't shoot enough... Yes, he only scored nine against MLK.. But he only shot about five times and he did not even see the floor in the fourth quarter...
  2. taking a shot at frye's defense?? you need to get your facts straight.. he shut down david lipscomb's main player and mcminn central's best player... he wouldn't have any problem at all guarding you... by the way, he is also a great offense player too much for you to handle.

ok, warriorettes23, i see you with correction of "lady warriors" way to stay on top of things!!!!
  4. baller1, i totally agree with you... i can not stand to watch them hold the ball.. he will try to do the same thing against Portland tonight..... a shot clock needs to be in high school basketball..... last year, when Portland played them, he held the ball the entire 2nd half.. they were like three shots taken and his team took two, includind the last shot.. he had tried to hold the ball in the 1st half also, the score at the half was something like 15-13....
  5. yes, Portland can and should overcome the doctor... i can not stand to see mlk play... they have a good team, but it is the crazy things that they do.... if only one reason were needed to put a shot clock in high school basketball, he would satisfy.. he is too busy having his team hold the ball to even try and play anyone (especially when he plays a team such as Portland who he knows is a good team) anyway, go Portland.
  6. Portland shoud bring everything tonight... It does not hurt that they have the homecourt advantage... Portland should pull out a victory tonight with the margin being 7-13 points.. go Portland
  7. what type of ball does 7aa use?? Portland uses a NCAA certified Wilson Solution basketball (all used in the tournament are brand new basketballs).. in my opinion, they are the best out there...
  8. i think that not only does Portland have the best player, but they also have the best team... sometimes, the team is covered by the talent of their best player... Portland is ready to play... they are going to have to be at the tournament every night b/c they are hosting and they want to play each night.... if Portland puts it all together, i say they will pull out a victory of 8 - 15 points... go Portland
  9. brewer high school?!?! you all are wrong for that... just because corey is a great player you have to hate on him.... that is sad... regardless of what happens tonight, corey will probably drop at least 30 on Station Camp........... rahobk, by the way brewer is not the only one of the team..... if given the opportunity some of their so called role players would be able to start for other teams in the district... i believe that brewer will only progress once he is under billy d's wing..... go Portland....
  10. I would really like to see Red Boiling Springs win this game.... i believe that they have what it takes to beat Westmoreland... they have a well balanced team with a great coach..... go bulldogs.....
  11. yes, tennis guy was correct carrie oldham from macon county won the mvp along with her team winning the regular season district championship.... i have heard that Hume-Fogg is looking pretty good this year.... aj1133: i had a pretty good career at Portland... i had over 1300 points and i hit over 200 threes.. i am now playing basketball at motlow state in Tullahoma, tn.... by the way, you probably did see me play in the Gallatin tourney... as for this post, i believe that it will be a fight to the end between lipscomb and Hume-Fogg
  12. My name is Erin Frye... i played for Portland high school last year.. we met David Lipscomb in the championship last season... i guess my name does imply some things.. first of all my intials then i was #33 and i loved to shoot the three.... no, i did not win district mvp... our team finished 4th in the district... it is very rare that one wins mvp if his or her team does not win the district... a player from macon county received this honor.....
  13. aj1133 what do you mean??? I must have been district player of the year.. Are you being serious or sarcastic??
  14. yes, they are pretty good.. dorris was not district player of the year.. she was the district tournament player of the year.. there is a huge difference.... she won it for the tournament b/c her team won the championship and she played great in that game
