Softball takes a beating in the TSSAA decidion today.......Every team who makes the state tournament wants to get to the final to play in the Field of Dreams! There is no better setting for softball than Chattanooga and their softball complex......does Memphis or Nashville or Jackson have a Field of Dreams,,,no....what a shame for softball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TSSAA is clueless

Thanks redbarron....which paper takes the lead in doing the all-state team..is it co-ordinated by one paper??? Who compiles for the mid-state team at the tennessean

who picks the softball all state teams??? Is it a newspaper vote or coaches?

Now that the state tournaments are over who is the best pitcher in the state based on results and the state tournament

I agree she is going to a great program and coach at UTC...Time will tell how good she does but I would'nt bet against her.

Yes there should be an all tournament team for softball in all classifications.....If not individual teams then the MVP for the state tournament is Sara Meek from Brentwood Academy....5-1 for the tournament 65K's a new state tournament record...2 earned runs in 44 innings..0.32....Beat Ryan twice back to back to win the title for the Eagles...Also hit over 500 during the tournament.......

Seems ridiculous....here is another inconsistency with the TSSAA...In cross country the WHOLE TEAM that wins first and second gets an individual medal plus they get a team trophy.......Why is there no such thing at the spring fling for baseball, softball, soceer. All track winners get a medal and the team that wins gets the trophy......Seems an individual medal for the team sports in the spring would be nice for the champions.

It is my understanding that there is no all-tournament for softball.....Not sure why but there was none last year???? They do have one in baseball???

Great year for the Lady Eagles.....Sara Meek is the best clutch pitcher in the state!!!!!! If you need an out just call on Sara.....UTC is lucky to get her.....65 K's at the state tournament.
