  1. I hope these two young men get to further their football career. They both are very talented im sure they will if they want to
  2. It's sad the Poteete got onto so many of these and never did win a Mr.Football award. But these two boys were amazing ball players its sad to see them go
  3. I have to agree. We are very proud of our team, our coaches, or seniors, and all who have worked so hard and made our football program a success. The future looks bright. Tiger Pride! your 4th qtr points were on 2nd stringers ..they did ok i guess.. but overall your team did play better than i thought ..your QB ..was pretty tough .. bet he hasnt been sacked as many times in his career, than he was sacked Friday. Defense!!!!!!!!! lets see i give the refs a D- ...they know better ..its a shame sometimes ..thats all i should say about that ..but i cant i have to ask one question about blocking a punt, If a punt is blocked by a player and the player then runs into the kicker after blocking the punt, should that be player flagged or not?? here is a nice link to the game summary http://www.wjle.com/node/9191 ...pretty detailed ..even though he left out some great calls made by the crew! 30 points is 30 points no matter who it was against. Poteete did get sacked a lot more and more as the game went along it kinda looked like the o line was giving up after they were down so much. and as far as the refs go well you are right it looked like DeKalb got the better end of the calls including that punt i was thinking the same thing when i saw that happen, but none of that matters "they dont ask how you won, they ask if you won".. so once again congrats to Maplewood good luck against white creek. Yall should be well prepared from here on out since yall have been up against some of the best running teams and now have been up against one of the best passing teams.
  4. Poteete is very fun to watch he threw his 100th career touchdown pass if i heard correctly in this game. Unforutanly he's to short to play on Sunday's, and i think i heard somthing about he wanted to be a doctor. He does have a bright future either way he goes. Edwards should have a bright future as well. Congrats to DeKalb you gave it another good run. Good luck to Maplewood and good luck finding a field lol the annoucer was great lol.
  5. I'm not saying DeKalb is going to win im just going to say this will be the best Quaterback Maplewood will see all year. Poteete should have been a Mr. Football finalist.. Just do a favor maplewood dont run the sweep to much because i really dont want to see your running back go over 300 yards rushing
  6. This sums it in a nutshell. Speed vs the pass. Maplewood will see the ball in the air quite a bit and Poteete can be on the money on a good night. Abrams ran the deep and wide-open on the sidelines for long caught passes but failed to stay in bounds at least a couple of times. If they get loose in the red zone, Poteete can pass and score, or scramble and score. But I have a feeling the Panthers speed will overshadow the Tiger defense. With that said, may the best team win... (Any word on Zach Taylor's injury from the Greenbrier game? It looked serious. You could have heard a pin drop that night during the time they were putting him on the backboard.) That is about as accurate you can get with it. and for Taylor i heard at first they were worried about him being paralyzed from the waist down but now he is already back in school walking and that he was going to be okay.
  7. I thought it would have came down to Bo Wallace and Hunter Poteete but Poteete didn't even make that's kinda surprising. Anyways congrats mr. Wallace and good luck
  8. Yes King I took a brief hiatus from CoachT. Looks like I timed it perfectly given all the bickering the last few weeks by a couple fans (or just one - MrBubbles). All credit given to LA on that particular Friday night. They came out and got the victory and was rewarded nicely with a home playoff game. No excuses but still would have liked to see that game played with our QB not hobbling around on one leg. So much of their offense is based on his scrambling ability, whether its buying time to find an open receiver or for him to carry the ball out in open space. Our offense became very one dimensional because of his ankle injury. Its obvious when you see we had almost 50 pass attempts and very few rushing attempts. Once again congrats to LA on that victory. Its in the past and we are both moving on to the 2nd round. I am not only a Tiger fan now, but a Wildcat, Owl, and Dragon fan from here on out. Go Tigers and all other teams representing district 8AA in the playoffs. Well i dont know about being all of thoughs fans from here on out. If the Tigers and Wildcats win, which i hope they do, i would love to see a rematch
  9. Poteete's 46 yard run was amazing i thought he was sacked. Glad this team started playing as a team on offense now its the defenses turn. Bring on Maplewood. Good Luck Tigers. Good game GB
  10. Haha. They have 4 asst's btw. Im definitely not one of those parents, i despise those parents as well. I never said he was my coach also. Im saying if the seniors of last year were on this team and this region, they would not have lost a game this year. Trapp has one play that he relies on every game and it is that flood play on either the right or left side. If he cannot get that play to work his offense is shot. The biggest problem for this team is that awful 3-5-3 defense. It didnt work last year examples station camp and white house x2. But the great defensive cordinator he has is really keeping them in games...... dekalb is undersized for this system and does not have the nose guard like they did last year in logan roller. if i remember correctly gb runs the wing t which gives this defense fits. im also surprised you knew that dkalb had other coaches since he never gives anyone else credit Last Years seniors seemed to be a lot closer they trusted each other. So yes i have to agree with that i think last year's team would have went 10-0 in this region. and the defense worked last year just happen to have three break downs last year and that was the 3 games you mention but other than that they avg about 17 points a game which isnt bad when your averaging 35 points on offense. However this isnt last years team. This year team has the weapons to do all of that just have to play as one team instead as 11 Individuals
  11. My apologies! I'll just stick to saying GB i can't mess that up
  12. Trapp will be back next year. He only has 3 assisant coaches yet he found a way to win the old region they were in last year. You can ask any Greenbriar fan on here that was a tough region. Yes he doesn't always call the smartest plays but does any coach? besides Coach Gary Rankin haha. The team and the fans just have to be behind him, and He needs to be behind his team. and just shut up and play football
  13. is trapp getting his little feelings hurt? Wish I had gone to the game! herd his feelings got hurt pretty bad by a parent after the game. somethin about downing the seniors when they were on the field during an emotional moment with their last home game and all. I understand it was Senior Night, but I have to agree with what Trapp did after the game. If you was at the game and watched the way they played. Why would you cry after a game you didn't give a 110% effort. However its not all the players, i hope they change their mind sets going into the Greenbriar game i really dont want to see them get embaressed.
  14. If Hunter is banged up like he was against LA thursday i dont know how well DeKalb will do in this one.
  15. Unfortunately, Mr. Bubbles they did try to run the ball and the three downline of LA won the battle.. But Poteete did have all day to throw so they can pass block three pretty well just not so much on the run blocking part. Congrats LA even though the one play wasnt an interception it definallybounced. Yall still kicked are butts with or without that play.. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs
  16. Well DeKalb has picked the wrong part of the season to be playing at there worst.. Greenbriar doesnt have to worry about the DeKalb team that beat them 45-27 last year it could easily be the other away around this year.. however Good Luck Tigers hope you get everything fixed in practice this week.
  17. Where has Dekalb's high scoring offense been the past few weeks? Their Defense finally has started stepping up and now they cant score like they were
  18. Most of though personal foul penalties were bogus.. however i knew the flag was coming when DeKalb got the interception i watched that one kid all the way threw the play and saw him hit the quaterback. And im sure you did hear the horn after some of DeKalb's Defensive plays i think they had 5 total int that counted if im correct? D1 im sure you will know. I think it was #13 had 2. Edwards had one Johnson had 1 and the little short kid had one on the 2 point conversation if they all counted but i dont know help me out D1
  19. King why do you have to do so much hating on DeKalb. Everyone knows DeKalb has been a horrible team since forever but now there finally turning it around. And i will take the bet that Smith Co will not hold DeKalb to 3 points or less. I'm not saying DeKalb will win but they will score more than 3 points but also Smith will score a lot more than 10
  20. Well you can't control what the bands do.. i'm pretty sure you will play another team this year that does the same thing. But good luck and hope yall finish with a great season
  21. Yea dont let the score surprise you. It was West Creek's first ever football game. Got a feeling our wide receivers we get some balls thrown their way on offense and defense in this game. Cannon probably feeling pretty good after throwing 4 first half TD passes. Predicting at least a couple big interception returns by DC in this game. DeKalb goes up 35-0 in 3rd quarter, Cannon makes late rally. DeKalb wins 35-26. Have to say my prediction was on spot, we had 3 Interceptions (one interception a 50 yard run back for TD), also had another Interception for TD but called back on bogus ruffing the QB. I would like to hear someone else's opinion on the way the game was called. Especially in the 2nd half. Referee's really picky when it came to DeKalb tonight, in my opinion. In the second half we score a TD and point to the sky, flag. We return a kickoff, get grabbed by the face mask and slammed then fumble, no flag. Several absolutely crazy pass interference calls on us. Then the personal foul calls, when it seemed not much at all going on, always always always against DeKalb 4 or 5 times at least. A couple late late hits on us, never a flag. Not to take anything away from Cannon, they didnt quit and put on a good rally toward the end. But it seemed the referee's were out there in the second half to aid Cannon's comeback a little bit. Really seemed one sided. Would like to hear what everyone else thought. Also we were assessed a 15 yard penalty prior to the 2nd half kickoff. I have no idea what happened there. Apparently we did something to upset the referee's at half, because they had it out for us the whole 2nd half. Does anyone know what that was about? I don't normally criticize referee's but that second half was completely ridiculous. Not all the calls were bad but it was like the first down was the marker for the refs when dekalb past it there would be a flag coming. and i have no idea or not but someone can help me on this one is horse coller tackling now a illegal in high school also? I sure hope not because if it is the refs sure did miss a lot of though calls also. D1 can you find out how many total penatly yards DeKalb had last night?..... and congratulation to Cannon you guys never quit and almost pulled off a huge comeback. Where did DeKalb's defense go the second half?
  22. I dont think it will be by 43 points this year but tigers still win this one big
  23. Aw Poteete's first int of the season.. did he even get near 200 yards passing?
  24. Freshman Year; See note below Sophmore Year 07'; (1,646 yards) Poteete had 1,646 yards on 206 attempts. He completed 114 passes for an average of 14.4 yards per completion, with a 55.3 completion percentage. Junior Year 08'; (2,775 Yards) Poteete completed 177-of-320 attempts for 2,775 yards with 37 touchdowns. He carried the ball 202 times for 892 yards with 9 touchdowns. Scout.com had his Career stats (prior to '09 season)as this: 4,680 yards passing and 49 touchdowns; rushing 1,370 yards and 14 touchdowns. So you can do some adding and subtracting to get his Freshman numbers. Does the junior year include the playoffs. i was just wondering where he was ranking in the all time career pass leaders. i believe the record is over 10,000 yards
  25. D1 i know you know a lot about DC i was wondering how many passing yards poteete had his freshman sophomore and junior year.. i think he had 1,646 sophomore year but im not sure about freshman and junior year
