If you have had the chance to know this guy, I can say that he doesn't have to jump on bandwagons. He allows his action to speak for himself. I have known Mr Devinner for quite some time and my kid has play junior pro football and basketball for him. He knows how to motivate kids and get them to believe in their dream. He doesn't give up on any kid. I don't even think he is doing it for money or fame. He is doing it for the care of those kids. Let's ask the Riverdale, Oakland, Siegel, Blackman, and Smyrna kids and see what they have to say about him. He was the gel on the sidelines for those kids to go to the past few years at Riverdale. He did say the only reason he is leaving Riverdale is because Aydelott and Hankins has no respect for him because they feel threaten. I can tell you one thing this guy is well spoken and well versed has a lot of knowledge not to mention people in his circle. See for yourself like I have done the past few years with his football camp. He brings in some of the top football players of all time to work his camp. Now you guys are really funny. Being surrounde by the best athletes is not his fault because he works part time at Patterson Park Community Center. That's where all of your athletes come through so he has the opportunity to mentor to many of them. I am sure the Oakland Staff is well aware of that and that is why they welcome him if he chooses to go there. He continues to say he is on the staff at MTCS though. Has that been confirmed by school officials. Since you'll are so worried, you should be worried about the kids that he can take with him over there. Until many of you understand the bigger picture here you will always want to point the finger at him. Ask all the former coaches who have left Warrior Drive during Aydelott's tenure and they all will say it is because of Hankins and Aydelott!

I know that everyone is bored because there is one more week left of dead period. I had the opportunity to play golf yesterday at a benefit golf tourney with a very unique young man in Byron Devinner. Many of you have been blasting out at him talking about in a negative since of matter. Well I found it odd to see him playing golf with one of the Oakland coaches yesterday. I had to ask him the question that all of you have wondered about and been wrong about. What sideline will he be on this fall. I will admit the guy is a little arrogant when you talk to him. The answer he gave me was on whatever sidelines that will help the kids in the future. He explained to me that he was never run off from Riverdale and wishes all of the Warriors good luck. He says that God has a plan for his life and he knows that he can make a difference in a lot of kids lives. He went on to say that he misses the kids on Warrior Drive, but he only wants to be respected. I can tell from the community and some of your post that there is a great deal of respect for him. Maybe that respect is what makes some of you call him a recruiter because you are afraid that your kids will follow him where ever he lands. Devinner only smiled when I asked if he was coming over to Oakland. I later got confirmation from a coach from that Devinner will indeed where the O this fall. The reasoning is simple, there are many kids that he can mentor and help in life. Let's look at what he did with Riverdale's class of 08. He was like a father to many of those kids and kept them out of any type trouble. Devinner is very visible in the community and feels that he has the ability to help any school win off the field in life. Many of you want to say that you have had a rough life also but until you sit down and really hear the horror stories that he went through then you will be like wow. The only thing that frustrated me the most was he wouldn't give me a definite yes or no he is going to Oakland. I am going to speculate that he is because I am told that he has been seen several times on Patriot Drive. I think he would be a great fit in the Patriot community. So for all of you haters, I guess Oakland will soon get athletic dorms huh? They have an indoor facility, a state championship, The IB program, The Ameri-Can problem. Now all they need is an athletic dorm for Devinner so that he can house the athletes at Oakland much like what Rickey Field did for Rankin at Riverdale. Can we say a second coming! It looks like Rankin has still not left Murfreesboro. First it was the man in the blue truck so I guess now it will be the man in the blue car huh!!!! Finally we are not on here bashing a person about athletic dorms. I saw Devinner last night at a restaurant with some Riverdale and Siegel players. I am not going to mention the restaurant because I wouldn't hear the end of that one either, but I understand that it has been a ritual of theirs for about three years now on Wednesday. I went because I figured he would be there and I wanted to observe him with the kids. He doesn't know me but I observed him and saw that those kids were really enjoying being around him. He brings something different. He brings all of the kids together no matter where they go to school and no matter what walks of life they have and show them they are all one and deserves to be treated fairly. My hats off to him. Not to mention one of the Siegel coaches was there and they walked right in and spoke to him. I could tell the Siegel coach wasn't even worried and that shows me that some of you don't know what you are talking about on here about recruiting. You know there is a difference between mentoring kids and recruiting them! As being a loyal Riverdale supporter. Aydelott if you read these post which I am sure you or your assistants do, please try to keep Mr. Devinner around because our kids really need him and his blessing. It will be hard to see him wearing other colors than the Cardinal and Gold!

Why are all of you on here bashing one guy? My son attended Devinner's camp as well. He had a great time and we will be there next year. I personally didn't know much about him until we attended his dinner the night before the camp and learned how he really helps the kids. If most of you would take the time to learn about the things that he has overcome to be where he is now then you would see his passion. If most of you weak jerks would have gone through half of the things he went through you would've gave up on life. Have any of you visited his website or attended any speaking event to hear his testimony? I bet if Aydelott knew what he had right uner him, then I am sure that he would treat him much better. Please before you bash this guy get to know him and what he stands for. Go to his website and read his story. It put me in tears when I read it. Then to see his video and see how kids from both Oakland and Riverdale were on there supporting him. Now help me to understand your purpose of bashing him?

It is really sad to see how some of you bash people on here. I also feel the same way some other people feel. Not saying that bigcountry is right, but Mr. Devinner is a very good person. He cares about a lot of our kids and where our kids end up after high school. There has never been a recruiting violation linked to Mr. Devinner. Yes Riverdale was trying to recruit a runningback from Smyrna when he was in the 8th grade but Mr. Devinner wasn't the person name that was mentioned. The runningback's mother and several Smyrna officials were interviewed, but no wrong doings were found. It's sad that all of you would bash a individual on the internet and I bet most of you smile in his face in person. Well I am here to tell you that my son attended his camp this year and will be back every year. These kids really worked hard to get better and the professional players he brought in really worked hard with the guys. It seems that some of you are on here to slander his name. A guy can be accused of recruiting if he has dinner with a kid. That's sad! What's even sadder is the one's that are claiming to be Oakland supporters. I am here to say that he is not a recruiter. He proved that with this year's camp. He had Coach McDaniel to come out to speak at the camp. That showed me right there he is not like everyone else, he knows talent and someone that knows how to motivate a kid. Sorry Riverdale that your new staff has turned your program into a nightmare and Coach Mac has turned Oakland into a state champion in one year. I think Devinner can go anywhere he wants because he has a story to tell. How many of you'll have taken the time to find out about him before you trash him. Have you ever been to his website and read his story? I was there to hear him tell his story and it brought tears to my eyes. So any kid that he touches he can make a difference in that kids life because he can relate to many of them. Put yourself in this guys shoes and she what he had to overcome and you will start talking bad about him. You are talking about a man that was abused by his mother burned severly to working undercover. He did all of this trying to make life better for our kids. He could be dead right now with some of the things he did! I am sorry but you'll have no class!
