  1. From what I have seen and heard, the Indians are ready for this big game and welcome Rockwood to the Reservation. These young men respect their opponents and have shown no arrogance or over confidence during the week towards the Rockwood team. Indians you know the routine, you know to focus, Line you M U S T BLOCK and P R O T E C T; "D" bring em down; everybody has to go that extra mile Friday night. Fans - find a cowbell. If you don't have one, go borrow one from your neighbor. These Injuns love hearing those cowbells so let's help them out. Make some noise for our young Indians. Me, I'll walk the fence line. GO BIG ORANGE!!! BEAT THOSE TIGERS!!!
  2. Here's a few thoughts for you guys who seem to think this Oneida/Coalfield game was just plain boring. If you think this was a classic middle school game, you don't have enough sense to know what football is. And next, if you'd rather watch middle school football, why don't you do just that? For those of us who enjoy these Friday night HIGH SCHOOL football games where players are TALENTED, have SKILL, are ATHLETIC, work hard to do the best they can with dreams of a promising career we do ENJOY these games and I personally did see this game and saw just that. Your remarks are insulting, disrespectful to the players, parents and coaching staff. Find another sport to watch! One of the first things I liked about the game was that the Indians came out and scored within about 2 minutes and shoved some of you guys words down your throat by showing you that Oneida DID NOT COME OUT S L O W but were focused, motivated and CONSISTENT in their playing. At halftime the score was way out of reach which showed the Indians did not take Coalfield for granted and played them hard, proving they are persistent in their efforts to win the District Championship. As for even being considered a "middle school football team" get a grip", that is so stupid it doesn't even deserve a reply. You think there's a prayer of a chance the Indians aren't going to prepare for the Sunbright game the same way they prepared for OS and Coalfield, you'd better believe they'll prepare. Show 'em Indians!
  3. Indians don't think so! By the way, might want to spend a little time working on that spelling and writing!!!
  4. The Indians will come out focused and motivated and you can rest assured they will take nothing for granted. They know they have three games in front of them and each game is as important as the next. I believe Coach Brew and TL will have prepared this team with the knowledge of the word consistency and they know they have to continue to play the way they played last week against OS. This has always been a tough rivalry from start to finish and I believe this team wants that District title enough to give it all they've got. I say, F O C U S Indians, don't let your guard down, BLOCK LINE, GO "D". Let's hear those cow bells!!!!!!
  5. I'd like to thow in my pick and that is Oneida High School Senior and Quarterback #8 Houston Hood. This young man is both an offensive and defensive football player and gives 100% from the time he steps on the field until the last second ticks off the clock. He stepped into the quarterback position and has become a leader and works hard from start to finish. I do not know the number of TD's he has thrown nor the number he has ran in for TD's but there are many. Any High School football player who can throw an 87 yard TD pass, a 51 TD pass, etc. etc. deserves to be considered for his accuracy, determination, skill, talent, and persistence. Hood is a top-notch defensive player as well. He has carried his team on his back and gone the extra mile every time he takes the field. I don't have his stats but welcome anyone to check them out and get the opinions of his coaches. He has been named Player of the Week and has received Honorable Mention several times. Hood is one of the most versatile football players in the league and seems to be an excellent sportsman always showing respect for the sport and all those involved.
  6. Anybody ready for an Oneida/Coalfield forum? A changed sure sounds good!!!
  7. This message board should be about High School football players coming together to play football on Friday nights and showing what they've got. It's not about "Biggs" or Assistant Coaches, or who goes to what college or all this jibber jabber that's been going on and on this past week. This forum should be about the Oneida High School Indians, how the played, were they prepared, were they motivated, did they want the game, etc. etc. A lot of you guys have rattled on and on about stuff these young men don't give a crap about. They want to hear from their fans. Let these young men here what you think about how they played, what they need to do to improve, what were their strengths, what were their weaknesses, give them some praise and congratulations. Did you take time to notice those young men were soaking wet, worn out, yet loving every single minute of the game? They love the game, they want to here you talk about what went on at the game - not all this ridiculous nonsense for the last page after page. Give it up already!
  8. That was a real Friday night football game. Both teams came ready to play. The Indians got hit with way too many penalties but man, did they play their hearts out? I've never seen a group of young men who wanted a win so bad. Jumping up and down with excitement, energy and geez talking about wet and dirty. Hood was here, he was there, he was everywhere. I've never seen such a versatile player. Hutson played the best game he's played all year. Wind, rain, whatever, played havock with much chance of an air attack but did that stop the Indians? Run, run, run, and it worked! It was a G R E A T TEAM effort. Miller, Stephens, Allen, West, everybody wanted this game. The Indians put forth efforts 100% and beyond - I'm proud of every one of you. Keep up the good work. I believe I predicted a W I N record for the entire season after the DeKalb game. I'm sticking to that prediction with no reservations. Watch the film see for yourselves what you did tonight - you're a GOOD TEAM Indians!!! Be Proud!!! CONGRATS
  9. The Indians are H U N G R Y too! Weather is going to play a major role. Turnovers and holding onto the ball are crucial. There's a whole lot more to the Indians than Oakdale and Wartburg, that's for sure. The Indians want this one bad and I think they'll show it from start to finish. No letting up Tribe! Hold on to that ball, run, run, run. GO INDIANS! Should be a great game!!
  10. Just between here and the fence post, sounds to me like "poor Ole Kaz" hit the nail flat dab on the head. In fact, sounds like he knows exactly what he's talking about. I'd say Ole Kaz's chances shouldn't be taken for granted. These Indians want this game. They know what this game means. They have been well informed, motivated, and they aren't worried about mud and dirt. This Tribe loves to play football - never doubt that. Put on the war paint Indians, it's just about showtime at the Reservation!
  11. Yep, I believe the Indians are H U N G R Y and I know Brew and TL will have the Indians focused and pumped. The Indians certainly aren't afraid to get down and dirty if that's what it takes. Ready, Set, GO, BIG ORANGE! THIS IS T H E GAME!!!
  12. For you Indian fans who couldn’t make the game, it was another game of teamwork - players who looked liked they had shared a B I G jar of glue before the game and stuck together backing one another from start to finish. Braxton Hutson went untouched for a 44-yard touchdown run. These boys love playing football together and show respect for one another and for their competitors from start to finish. Highlights included Oneida's Houston Hood connecting on an 86-yard touchdown pass to Will Woodard. Sam Woodard gave Oneida a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter when he scored from 33 yards out. The two-play drive started with a 15-yard run by Hood and was capitalized by his 1-yard touchdown run. Indians you played with Heart, Desire and most of all R-E-S-P-E C-T! The Reservation has good Injuns!!!
  13. Great Game. Muddy, Wet, down and dirty, but a good Friday night football game. First half it would have been hard to throw as we have in past. The coach's calls were good. There's a time for passes and a time to run. The QB does what his OC tells him to do. I want to say what an EXCELLENT all around player QB Hood is turning out to be. Passing, running, recovering fumbles, and man, what a defensive player. Speaking of college, recruiters, take a good look!!! Think it's time to give some credit where credit is due. It takes a whole lot more to win a football game than one WR. Somebody gets the ball to the WR. Good running by all, good kicks, good sportsmanship, looked like GB wasn't going to give up. CONGRATS, INDIANS - See you all in Oakdale - You're gettin the job done - rain or shine.
  14. Yes, it WILL BE A BATTLE. The Indians also lost a lot of really good players but they too have a lot of experienced, skilled and talented players returning as well as being fortunate to have a host of talented freshmen. There's no doubt each one of them has reviewed film many times so they'll be focused, prepared and once again, H U N G R Y!!! It's just about Show Time Indians, let's welcome 'em to the Reservation.
  15. Told you fellers few weeks back the rest of em are ours. Just can't get it through those thick Indian skulls, can ya? Well, I'll say it again, Oliver Springs and Sunbright might put up a squabble but the Indians ain't stoppin now. Roller Coaster, Wave, whatever, the Indians are feelin their oats. Wait and see!
  16. Tonight was a Class Act football game by the Indians. From the first quarter the QB took control of the game, motivated the team through his own actions and made crucial first downs. What looked like an upcoming loss on a 4th down turned out to be another successful 42 yard completed pass from Hood to West for an outstanding TD. Extra efforts in runs and tackles; TD's by many players - 42 points!!! "D" held; "O" moved the ball; INDIANS SCORED!!! CONGRATS Indians, you did good. Gotta focus on GB. You're a CLASS ACT!
  17. The Indians don't wear GIRL PANTIES, won't get blown off the field, don't anticipate anything being ramed down their throats and are ready to meet their competitors. It's Friday night football - BRING IT ON!
  18. It's show time again Indians! Some runs down the middle (Sexton, Braxton), some runs outside (Woodwards), some air balls from Hood to West and we're off and running. The gates are open Indians, let's go get em. You ready? Me think so!!! Looking good! Oh, yeah, gotta have that "D"!!!
  19. Hey Brothers, don't misinterpret my script. Anything I said previously was all constructive criticism. No oone could be more proud of the Indians right now than I am. That pass from Hood to West was UNREAL. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L Man!Something out of the books. I agree it's exactly what the fellows needed to get them on track. Things looked a little "unraveled" but the Indians will move forward and again my CONGRATS.
  20. Don't know what bell Cleatless Injun heard toll for the dawgs. The only bell we heard toll in the Reservation was for the Indians. Yep, the Indians won - not quite how we wanted it to look, but we'll take the win. Something was missing though and it did seem to come from the heart. What's up guys? Where's the emotion? Where's the feelings? Where's the jumping up and down, go get em, can't wait attitude? You know, maybe senior players should review a couple of their 8th grade tapes and see what motivated them then. Might be worth a try. You gotta love the game, love to play, want to play, want to win, get in there and have some good old football fun. Now let's really bring it on for CG Friday night. Congratulations on the win - proud of you.
  21. I'll say it again - the Indians are HUNGRY, READY and PRIMED. They're on the war path. Talk all you want - there's no stopping them now!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Show em what's on the reservation boys. It's show and tell time.
  22. The Indians are hungry, ready, primed and I predict will win 8, that's right boys, EIGHT big ones. Trial and error has taught them well; they've put it all together and will continue to grow stronger and more confident with each passing game. GO INDIANS, GO!
  23. Loopie - someone finally sees the light! We ran the ball against DC like we owned it so why change a plan that had worked all night? COMMON SENSE is all it takes. If the plan ISN'T working, CHANGE the plan; if the plan IS working, STICK WITH THE PLAN. Dang it, what's so complicated about that? A field goal at GP would have won that game. A few more runs and DC would have been history. Injuns, you did your job!!
  24. Man, get a grip on your strength of schedule information. Evidently you haven't taken the time to do any research or homework as to who Oneida played last year and this is the beginning of a new season. Oakdale may be on Oneida's schedule but that doesn't mean Oneida can't play with the rest of 'em. You need to remember the tribe is just warming up. Three td's is a bit much. We'll see!@ Don't think the Injuns are going to like that input but say what you want cause they're comin to play, NOT TALK~
  25. If the Indians had played the first half of the game like they did the 3rd and 4th quarters, they would have won the game as expected. It didn't happen for the Indians the first half. One and two yards per play won't move the ball down field. Agree it was a horribly announced game. From the wrong names used during the introduction of captains for Oneida to referring to Oneida players as "that kid(s)", the announcing was poor. Every move GP made was announced but names for tackles, passes, yardage pickup, etc., for the Indians were non-existent. Hood led the Indians with ferocity, determination and skill both on the ground and through the air. His talent as a DE as well as a well-coached quaterback go back to the 8th grade which the announcers would have known had they done their homework evenly for both sides.
