  1. Lipscomb does not get the type kids they used to. They are all at CPA. They have dropped off in every sport. Playing everything but football in the large division is going to destroy their athletic program. They just can't compete at that level.

  2. Geez there is no reality with you. What you see in actual print here and what you infer from it are two different things .I have stated actual facts. Then you and your imagination start running wild with things that were never EVER said. You must be a tree hugger.  No point in going any further with you. Wasted breath.

And if you don think that who they play in the season has an effect on their post season, you have definitely never coached at any level beyond Charlie Daniels.

If you knew me you would know that I could absolutely care less whether TP was there or not. I simply stated FACTS. Sorry you are not privy to them.

If you go back and READ WHAT WAS ACTUALLY SAID, you would remember that I said what AB has done with the defense is outstanding. I also SAID that Groh is the best at what he does. I also SAID that TP had a hot seat, not that he would be fired. It all depends on results which is the REASON for the weak schedule.

    READ. Do not infer.

  3. FCS losing their running back last week will slow their running game down. His speed was a difference maker. DCA will still have to stop the rest of the run game, but it will not be near as hard now.

Good luck to both squads. Hope you both can stay injury free. Ought to be a good one.

I don't think the reigning region champ has a hot seat to sit in. Not even luke warm at this point. I don't care if he's playing Glencliff, or if he's playing Oakland or Maryville every week. He isn't going anywhere ANY time soon unless he decided on is own to quit coaching. So if his seat is hot like your'e saying, then he should be fired from MJ in the next year or so? Ok, bet.

Obviously I cannot fix stupid. The schedule this year is weak to make sure he doesn't lose the job. Success in the postseason is the difference.  If you can't walk through the regular season with that pitiful schedule you  ought to quit on your own.

    The heat is still there.

Grandpa, it's ok to admit TP is a solid coach, who outworks 99% of the coaches in the state on and off the field. This year the talent has finally caught up to exemplify our true potential.

Never said anything about his work ethic. Avron Fogleman once told me not to confuse efforts with results.  That is an inevitable part of coaching. Jimmys and Joes make coaches look good AND bad. I have known many good coaches that lost their jobs simply because of W/Ls.

If you don't think the pressure is on, you are way out of the loop. Maybe you could gain more knowledge if you listened to your elders.

An opinion is an opinion, obviously you're a parent so you're gonna be alittle more on edge with negativity thrown towards your team. It's a natural reaction but yet you have to deal with people like this from time to time. Have you not seen all of the negativity thrown towards the coaching staff and schedule MJ has this year. It's ridiculous people don't give credit where credit is due (4 straight shutouts) because their envious or have some grudge against the program. I deal with it just fine and let the players and coaches shut the haters up. (big chief, wcndahouse, and many more) especially bigchief, always chiming in negatively towards the MJ program, I'm starting to think he took a lot of losses to Roger perry back in the day.

Kid, everything I said was true. I gave credit to Ab for the great defense, I think Groh is the best at what he does, and I KNOW that TP made this schedule for job security. None of that is a secret and if you have anything at all to do with the program you know this.

Maybe I will see you Friday night. Come say hello

  7. The bottom line is that Perry scheduled the cupcakes to make sure he kept his job.  The natives were restless because Mount Juliet had repeatedly underperformed the  last few years and the heat is on. He can twitter beat his chest about being 4-0 but the only quality win is over Gallatin.

Ab has as done an obviously excellent job with the defense. 4 shutouts is good no matter who you play. You have started the season exactly how you should have.

However these idiots on here that are downplaying Pearl Cohn have no clue. Mr. look at their overall record should also look at their schedule. MBA and CPA would both beat anybody on the MJ schedule. Cookeville is 4-0.Cordova is 3-1. They played Republic but only because nobody else would schedule them. If you take a look, Oakland played them for the same reason. Pearl Cohn has ALWAYS played a tough non region schedule and that is why their playoff record makes Mount Juliet's look so bad. They prepare for the post season not the non region schedule championship.

Ol' TP ought to take notes while he still has a spot. Winfree went to the semis and two years later was gone. Don't think it can't happen.

Why they going there when it's land all around their school?? What about Ross?

There is no green space at Ross. Even their playground is tiny. There is no green space anywhere at East that is remotely large enough to practice football. It is either East Park or the softball field at Douglas park behind Meigs.

Meigs has soccer on their field. Not going to bump a school from their own field. East went over to the middle school at Bailey to practice up until school started but now the middle school team has use of their own field.

When the "new" Ross was built, that ended any hopes of ball fields. Soccer travels to Metro Center to practice and play. Baseball and softball travel to Shelby Park to play games. Baseball practices at Cleveland Park.  All require transportation and logistical problems. It is not like you can leave anything out there for the next day. Anything you want to use you have to carry each day. Kinda makes a blocking sled out of the question.

If football was a priority, they would have a different coach.

East had a football field and a good stadium. Tear down that elementary school and build it back.

The chances of  Metro tearing down a less than 20 year old building that houses kids everyday are about the same as FRA letting Overton expand onto their property. Get serious

  10. It was a priority at East and still got shot down. Try again.

East is having to travel 3/4 of a mile down the road to practice on a softball field at East Park. That includes crossing a very busy Gallatin Road. The school is landlocked and has no area available for a practice field.  If any school needed turf it is East.  It was denied.

Not that I know or have any knowledge, but the Wiseman one would really surprise me. His home school Ensworth has been continually promoting all of his accomplishments all summer on their IG account. Not many leave Ensworth either. Not saying it isn't happening or hasn't already happened. I don't know but I certainly would be very very surprised.

    Surprise

  12. Goodpasture coach Lynn Dearing reached her 600th win yesterday with a straight sets defeat of new district foe Davidson Academy.

In her 20th season as head coach, Dearing now has a career record of 600-183 with 5 straight state championships 2012-2016, 2 runner ups 2003, 2011 and 2 third place finishes 2005, 2010.
