a good mark to you, Vicker. Classic.

No reply, Chaka? I guess study hall must have ended.

My thoughts are this: 1. get out of the library and go back to class. 2. Think back to how many games you won before the guys came back and remember that they all graduate (I know you are not one of them because they would never have posted something so idiotic. 3. You sound like your the star of the lower Antioch Junior Pro League. Enjoy your off-season.

I won't even bring up the Julie Powell mess that almost ended the kingdom for King Rick.

I saw Father Ryan out in pads on Friday as I drove by on I-65.

jrite, refer to last post by bigmoney. Wasn't the first, will not be the last. Do it the right way and THEN spout off.

Call Metro Athletics Director Scott Brunette at 259-8783 if you have an interest in the job. Too early to tell.

From I-65 North take the Vietnam Veterans bypass and get off at New Shackle Island Road. Turn right and follow until it ends at Gallatin Road. Turn left and follow about 2 miles or so. As soon as you go across the lake turn left at the light (this is the entrance to the park). Good luck.

Just a thought. Didn't McEwen, the 10A champ have to go to the wire to beat Lighthouse, the doormat of 9A? Just a thought.

Franklin won this district (11 AAA) in 2001 and 2002. A rebuilding year is inevitable. They are consistently competitive. 1989 AAA state champs. Good mix of students. Hope this helps. Big Poppa, this is who you think it is. Give me a yell.

Brienmadness, if he moved from Johnson City to Rhea Co. with a verified change of address with a parent or guardian he is immediately eligible. Downtown3s, Coach Crowder has applied for a variety of high school positions in the last two years in an attempt to leave Rhea Co. Perhaps a record padded with cupcake wins would make his resume better. At least that is what he thinks. It is the old Don Meyer school of scheduling. Only, Lipscomb won the big games too. I guess Crowder forgot that part.

Bigpoppa, Vaughn was a JV player in 1989. He did dress out, but hardly ever got in. MLK is the only public school to win in the 90's from the mid-state. Stratford was beaten in the semis last year and Columbia has never won the state in boys basketball. Give me a call. I waited after the game for awhile, but I can understand why ya'll didn't come out.
-
bogknocka8, David Vaughn Jr. never won the state at Whites Creek. They lost in the finals his sophmore year (he never got off the bench), semis -junior year, and first round senior year. His DAD won two in 1970 and '71 at old Cameron high. The last teams from the mid-state to win the state championship (other than private schools) are MLK in 1991 and 1996, and Franklin in 1989 (over Whites Creek). Before that you have to go back to 1981 and old Pearl High. Hardly a precedent.

Good luck to the bears tonight. They are playing hard and together finally. They are shooting for the first district championship in the school's history. I believe it opened in the 1920's.

It is just as bad at Millenium (the new park), plus the fields are 310 feet deep. The ground has just been too saturated to play anywhere that does not have a tarp. As bad as we all want to play, mother nature is just not cooperating.

With Ryan Daniels out for the remainder of the year the Cougars suddenly become VERY beatable. They proved that last night. The district and region are WIDE open now.
-
Imasoftballer, that sounds like a Haslam trick to me. Good to see you and Frosty at the clinic. Hope all is well. Good luck (if we ever get to play outside).

The weather affects the core of the ball. The cold hardens the core. At least that is what the Worth people told me when I played slow-pitch for them. Since they make both balls and bats, I don't know why they would have lied to us. These bats are made out of alloys that are used for aircraft. All space-shuttle jokes aside, I don't see how cold weather would directly affect the alloy. I don't see planes going down in Maine. An outside force (the ball) forces the breakdown. The opposite affect can be found by putting the ball in a microwave. The core expands and jumps off the bats although the effect is brief.

Anybody in the business will tell you. It is not the affect of cold weather on the bat. It is the ball.

All districts should have written by-laws. Check with your district chairperson. See you tomorrow.
Nathan Aaron, Adam Asbury, etc.

Nathan Aaron is playing well for Freed-Hardeman. They got a steal.
