Gibson County was so close to finding themselves possibly in Westview's region bracket tonite but held on 72-69 over Crockett County Westview blew out Obion in the other semi tonite was awesome with HUGE crowds - good luck 13AA next week in region and let's get a first round sweep over 14AA so we can do this again Mon March 3 in the region semis

you called the crockett co uprising wow they played good and they suffocated Baird, did she even score double digits? probably good for your westview that GC held on though so now MW-GC are in different region brackets as for the second game, purely one-sided blowout obion is giving their all but they didn't seem to have any legs

before you start flaming... i predicted a haywood - covington region final last year! but you don't lose TWO division one players (1 graduation and 1 injury) and beat the quality of teams they will face it is a simple prediction

your right crockett is scary, i guess the possibility of all the scenarios has got me thinking too much actually i think it will be more surprising if 13AA doesnt sweep than if they do, although brighton girls know their roles well and fayette returned nearly everybody

will the loser of this game throw the consolation to stay away from gibson in the region

chester co a shoo in for state their region and substate is so weak, they can play horrible and advance to state giles is the only perennial good team in their way

this is the ONE thing i don't like about tssaa tourney rules lets hypothetically say that obion does beat westview... how bad will obion REALLY want to win the dist. tourney knowing that would throw them right back in with westview in region 7aa brackett? also, how bad will crockett/westview really want to win the consolation knowing that it will put them back in gibson's region brackett it's a flaw, i'm not sure i know of a solution, but it still is a flaw also, in a crockett/obion game don't be surprised if an upset occurs here - obion won the last meeting at troy by 4 and shot 58 freethrows to crockett's 19, crockett led until 40 seconds left in the game with 4 starters fouled out personally i want 13aa to be represented at state, so i want a westview/GC final i expect all 4 13aa teams to advance in the region as crockett (#4 13aa) won @ brighton (#1 14aa) last week

the GC twin johnsons are great athletes, but still russell is coach of the year close vote over hoffman. as good a talent as westview has mcmillan almost doesnt get the credit he deserves either and crockett can be scary when they buy into what laru wants them to do - they went down to brighton (21-3, #1 seed 14AA) and beat them on their homefloor last week 13AA rulz best tourney in the state (sorry LA, JaxCO, Upperman, York) but y'all are gonna have to get more people coming to your tournaments to take the #1 spot

both led the entire games tonite with obion a little nervous in the first half and crockett surviving severe foul trouble question: where was sharrelle tyus for crockett? 13AA rulz armageddon scenario: obion beats westview thursday and gibson/westview end up in the SAME REGIONAL Brackett that would mean an underdog making the state tourney

west tn second tier AA teams would beat your polls' single a teams 80% of the time except for trenton fayette ware, brighton, crockett co, humboldt, dyer co. etc. would just be too strong for huntington, south fulton, dresden etc in a head to head game but i do understand that you can only beat who is on your schedule, and those single a teams deserve the credit of the rankings now be nice and dont flame me, i'm just making a point that the records of these second tier AA teams has been hurt by playing ranked AA teams night in and night out the way to approach looking at my point is imagine a ranked A team in 13AA district and what do you think their record would be? you answered my question really with your #9 -"never in the game with Obion" so i guess to sum up - is a ranking: 1) the teams with the BEST SEASONS? or 2) the TOP TEN TEAMS if your answer is 1) --- then your poll is right if your answer is 2) --- then i respectfully disagree [Edited by 3pointer on 2-17-03 9:55P]
