  1. Of course you are going to say that because you are from Mount Juliet and your a little upset because ya'll are not going to the GLASS HOUSE!
  2. Speed does kill but I think WC guards will step up to the occasion kind of like what happened last year in the Region 5AAA Semis.... I don't think in the long run when teams hit the tournaments that MJ has the bench depth to keep up with WC. WC has too many weapons to defend. If WC shows up like they are suppose to I predict WC will win Tuesday night by a score of 65-57....
  3. I don't think at all that they would be upset with him for applying for the head coaching job. I think they would be happy for him to apply for a head job or even an assistant job for that matter. However, I would guess that some of the statments he made comparing WC and Lebanon were not well received at WC. You just don't do that, but he is from Memphis and he may not know what is and is not acceptable in Wilson Co. I am not anti-Rickman, but I just don't think he went about this job in the right manner.
  4. DM, I agree. I don't think the publicity stunt will work out quiet the way Rickman intended and if it does, then good for him, but I just don't think that was a wise move. In my opinion, it probably hurt him at Central, too. I doubt it was well received by Troy Bond and company, again, my opinion. You just don't parade around and annouce that you are applying for a coaching job anymore than you would any other job. If he were coming in from another school system, it may be a little different, but since he is already working the county, it just isn't the thing to do. There are ways of handling that situation and going public is not one of them. You do have to give him credit for being determined though. TN Sarcasm...Pokey Chapman was in town last night, too....think she might apply? Thompson has family in Lebanon...he visited, big deal. If he is as successful in MS, KY, Canada, Europe, or where ever he is, why do you think he would be interested in taking a rebuilding position at Lebanon?
  5. I have watched near 100 varsity and freshman games this season, I would have to think about it to tell you exactly and it is too early for that....
  6. Not sure on the Mississippi mystery man, but I doubt the S.T. person you mentioned earlier would factor, provided it is the same S.T. that I am thinking of. Who knows...
  7. Groovy is talking about Anna Sharpe. I can't imagine that she would be remotely interested in lieu of the recent success at Mt. Juliet. You would have to be crazy to walk away from that and go to Lebanon.
  8. It wasn't a broken wrist, it was a broken bone in her hand. She was in a hard cast for several weeks and then moved on to a soft cast. After each game in the region and sub state, she put the soft cast back on, but she was not allowed to play with it on, thus the taped hand. She may very well have the soft cast back on again, but no one went against doctor's orders for her to play in the state tournament.
  9. Dr. Petty, WC's team doc, was at all the State Tournament games and I would think that he would have spoken up if he thought there was a problem with her playing. No doubt Tierny was was needed on the court and a big reason for Wilson Central's winning the gold ball, but I know Bud or her mother would not put winning before her health. Anyone who thinks otherwise, don't know either very well. Kids play hurt all the time and yes coaches sometimes encourage them to play through the pain, but this was not one of those situations.
  10. About time you got back into town
  11. Sure would have like to have been at this game but had to travel elsewhere tonight, I can't imagine the atmosphere with Smyrna behind most of the game. Just wondering who the leading scorer was for Smyrna...guess I will read the paper in the morning. Undoubtedly, Mooney was for Hillsboro. Congrats to Hillsboro, you beat a very good team. See you in the 'Boro next week.
  12. Great job Lady Wildcats!!! So proud of you!!! See everyone on Murfreesboro on Thursday!
  13. Priceless you are really too much. Campbell Brandon is one of the most respected coached in the state. Next time the Oakland boys are playing in Campbell Brandon's gym, take a look around at all the banners that were put their by teams that Campbell coached. He won the state championship in 1971 prior to division of school classifications, which is impressive by any standard. Lebanon was always competitive until he retired in the early '90's. The only coach with more wins is the guy from Bradely Central, whose name has left me for the moment. They are currently looking to hire a head coach now..guess what they are looking for...somone to bring the program back to where it was when Campbell was there. You also commented that there was hatred among the WC coaching staff and Smyrna and you couldn't be more wrong. Bud, Campbell, and Wiley are all really good freinds and I would imagine they have talked several times today and I would be willing to bet big money that Wiley has a copy of the WC/Hillsboro tape from our game earlier this year and probably a sack full of suggestion from Campbell on how to beat them. Also, you mentioned the Brandon brothers...they are father and son. As for the comments that you made about the WC fans, we are a proud bunch as we should be. We have had one of the best starts ever for a new school. Made 2 state tournament apperances in the schools 5 year history, hopefully adding a third tonight. Disrespectful? Probably not intentionally. Do we like to have fun? yes. Isn't that part of the fun of a message board to poke a little fun, make bold comments and outrageous predictions? I am not familar with the water incident that you referred to involving Lavergne. I have probably missed less than 10 WC games, home and away, since the school has been open. I could do some checking and find out if it is true, and it could be, I just don't remember it...BUT, I will say this Smyrna has some of the rudest students that I have ever encountered. Multiple years in a row, WC security has made students leave, although I don't think they had to this year. At the Region Championship game, their students came over and sat right in front of the Wilson Central parents and administration even though there were signs that indicated where they should sit, when the officer asked them to move, they were argumentative and disrepectful, one student in particluar. I really thought they were going to toss a few of the kids out. Eventually, after repeated requests from the WC crowd and our principal, they were made to move to their side. They were also yelling things that I can't post here at the refs. I am not saying that WC kids are perfect because they aren't, but Smyrna kids certainly wouldn't win an award for behavior either. Neither student body, however, should reflect on the amount of class the girls programs have. It is not fair to compare them in that manner. Riverdale football has a classy program, but I would imagine you would have something negative to say about their fans as well. The bottom line is this...Wilson Central girls are District Champs, Smyrna girls are Region Champs and we both have teams to beat tonight before we go any further. Both teams have a lot to be proud of and there is nothing anyone can do or say to change the success of either team. Go Lady Wildcats!!!
  14. Would you like some cheese with that?
  15. You are beating a dead horse here...nope... wait, it could be a rented mule. The game is over, Smyrna won. All hail Smyrna! Put up a banner, have a parade, celebrate, rent a mule...whatever floats your boat. Tell your girls to take care of business, if we both get it done, we can talk about this again next week, say Saturday night...and before everyone goes jumping down my throat, I said "if".
