Congratulations to the OWLS for a wonderful season, I hated to see it end last night, especially for my Seniors...Know that you did as you were asked...give it your all...and you did...Thank you for being a team that we as fans can support and love...and not have to worry about being embarrassed by your actions...You are a class act, and I know that your coaches have a huge part in that...Take a minute today and thank your parents and families for allowing you the opportunity to put on that BLACK AND GOLD and to be an OWL...Take all the memories you've made the last four years and hold them close to your heart...you're all OWL brothers...never forget that... Jose...I have watched you grow from a skinny little kid...to an athletic young man...I was told, when you were in the 8th grade, that I was going to love knowing you...Mrs. Davis was so right...I do love knowing you...I love watching you grow...and I love the person you are....and will be...I am blessed to be a part of your life...Take away from your four years of OWL ball...the knowledge, the training, and the lessons you've learned...become a man that knows what SCP is all about...and never ever forget to be afraid of your Mama!!!...She loves you and is very proud of you...just as I am... MY Owls are going to show up on Friday night. MY Owls are going to play with all they have. MY Owls are not going to listen to a bunch of fans saying they've given up. MY Owls don't give up. MY Owls want to win. MY Owls KNOW they can win. I don't know whose Owls are the ones you guys are talking about. MY Owls have something to prove. Prove it they will. People on here running their mouths are not going to affect what MY Owls are going to do Friday night. Leadership on a team doesn't start at the bottom, it starts at the top, and MY Owls have the best. Win or lose, MY Owls will give their best. They don't need us to ask them to do that. I haven't seen one of MY Owls give up yet. I watch one of MY Owls every single day beg for some way to get back in the game. I watch that same Owl tell the other Owls that they can do it, that he KNOWS they can do it. Why don't all of you do the same? Don't get on here and make insinuations that there are problems on the team with leadership. There isn't. Just because this bunch doesn't scream that they're the best thing since sliced bread, doesn't mean they aren't there for each other. The kids on this team don't run around throwing up their arms, trying to get the crowd to cheer for them, because they don't need it. They KNOW we are behind them. They KNOW they are there for each other. I have watched these guys find their way. I have watched them realize that losing isn't the best feeling in the world, but that it happens. The best thing I've watched out of this bunch of high school football players, is how they've grown. You couldn't ask for a better bunch of kids. You know what the best thing about this team is? And before I tell you, Bear and Cody know I love them. But the 09 Owls don't have a Bear or Cody. They are a team. There are 11 young men on that field, and not a single "star". And you know what? That is what makes a team. That's your leadership you people keep searching for. A few losses doesn't make me love MY Owls any less. It allows me to see a real team. A team that can take it. A team that can learn from it. A team. GO OWLS!!! I love you!!!

So if York has no bleachers...Let's go to TECH!!!!

Another Homecoming come and gone....Congratulations to the Owls for the victory...Great game Jose...I love you!...Henry...I'm so sorry that you were sick this week and couldn't participate... THANK YOU SCHS for honoring the alumni before and at the game...it's always a good thing to look back and remember...SCHS football is built on tradition...and it was good to see the "old guys" back on the field...and really good to see #77's jersey...thank you for remembering a great guy... I was wondering about anyone being on the field, other than players and coaches...during the game.... neither side should allow anybody out there....I'm sure that's going to be addressed this week...

Jose attacks life just like he attacked last night...I just wish all kids had his determination and fire...he is one very large reason teachers continue to teach...he shows us hope that what we do...matters...I'm lucky to know Jose...and to know that he influences many kids...and that's a good thing.

You're right you can't hardly tell in a game like that. To be honest, it was probably a combination of CC and SC. I think SC is good but CC made them look better. We'll know for sure in a week. I KNOW for sure NOW!!! GO OWLS!!!

This is the best post for a newbie that I've ever seen. I think we should leave this season with this post. This thread has been respectful and fun, but it's losing that, so I'm closing it. I wish our boys the best, and hope that Marion Co and Boyd can have a great game.

I can't pick a favorite to win this game...Marion County brought a great group for us to host, and I'll never forget the hospitality and courtesy shown to my elderly aunt a couple of years ago at Boyd... Good luck to both teams...may it be played without injury, sportsmanship, and no silly refs...
