  1. Actually, it was all "down hill" before the game got started. That was about the weirdest game I have sat through from the fan's point of view. The mercy rule should have been in place before the game started. The score could have easily been 42 - 0 before half time. Tullahoma's second and third string guys made the game "interesting" and competitive for Warren County. I really don't know what to say but that was pretty pathetic.
  2. Looks to be a good night for football. Hope everyone on both teams are healthy and can perform to the fullest potential. Would like to see a good game tonight. Everyone, good luck!
  3. OK, the first stage is set and this is the reason the game is decided on the field and not a piece of paper. Regional semis: Warren Co at Soddy Daisy = Soddy Daisy Cleveland at Cookeville = should be Cookeville but Cleveland has the ability to take this. Columbia at Siegel = Siegel Oakland at Tullahoma = I am going with Oakland as they have a better defense than the teams that Tullahoma has faced in 8AAA even though Tullahoma came alive in the scoring bracket against Columbia. However, at home, Tullahoma could take this. So, wind them up and turn them loose. Good luck to everyone and keep having fun.
  4. Cookeville 2 and Warren Co 1 in 6AAA District Championship
  5. Here is what we have for now: District 5: Soddy Daisy and Cleveland District 6: Warren Co and Cookeville District 7: Oakland and Siegel District 8: Tullahoma and Columbia Tullahoma has already won their district tournament and wait the outcome of the Oakland and Siegel game. I think that both Oakland and Siegel will advance to the regional championship unless Tullahoma can pull off an upset in the semi final. Warren County and Soddy Daisy look to win their districts with Cookeville then traveling to Soddy Daisy and Cleveland to Warren County. Soddy Daisy should advance to the regional final and the Warren County vs Cleveland game is a toss up. Regardless, Soddy Daisy looks to host the loser of the Oakland vs Siegel Regional and the winner of that regional looks to host the loser of the Soddy Daisy vs Cleveland\Warren County. So, Soddy Daisy should be there and the winner of the Siegel\Oakland game in their region. Best I could do was to narrow it down to those three teams. Regardless, good luck to everyone and no one knows for sure what will happen when everyone hits the field and who will come ready to play and who will not. That is where the fun comes in when the unpredictable happens.
  6. Warren Co 7 and Cumberland Co 0 Tullahoma was up 7 to 3 over Columbia with 3 minutes to go Cookeville was up 2 to 0 over Coffee Co with 10 minutes to go
  7. Anyone have the score from McMinn County and Cleveland yet?
  8. Cody Robinson is listed on Duke's roster but does not say whether he is redshirted or not. Good bio info about him on their website. Their individual statistics do not show him participating in any games this season. Don't know if that is accurate or not. Here is the website to their individual stats. http://www.goduke.com/fls/4200/stats/2011-12/football/teamgbg.htm
  9. Anyone know the score of the White Co and Cumberland Co game from last night? Thanks.
  10. Can someone update us on the status of the Disctrict 5 AAA tournament? Seeding, results, etc. ??? Thanks.
  11. So, what are you saying? The other kids "want it" more than the kids of Warren County in any of the sports? Yes, all the sports are way down from where they used to be. But every sport is that way because the kids don't "want it?"
  12. That may be the big question but instead I think it will be will they be able to hold Tullahoma to less than 35 points in the first half?
  13. White Co 42 and Warren Co 24 The Big W did not happen. How did they give up 42 points to White Co?
  14. OK, this is how it looks like the regular season standings are going to finish. 1. Warren County 2. Cookeville 3. Coffee County 4. Cumberland County 5. White County
  15. I can understand the confusion. The one is what lead to the other. The inappropriate yelling was what got me to thinking about things that have transpired over time and that thinking got me to post the first thought that was on my mind at the time which was the ignorance of the rules. Actually, some of the folks (or at least one) involved in the inappropriate yelling was an adult and he was not as smart as the others that ran off and was the only one to actually get tossed.
  16. Rather not name the school. The AD was upset, embarassed, and came over to apologize after the game. Said that he did not appreciate that people could do something like that and give them and their town a bad rep. I talked with him and said that most of the fans had been gracious but its that 1% that makes it look bad for everyone else. That is why I am asking the other fans to help out. I could not identify the fans who were doing this as I had my back to the crowd when it was happening but they took off running when the SRO went their way. One ran to his parents up in the stands and they took him to the car and left (at least that is what I was told after the game).
  17. No, I get around quite a bit but have not made it to Briarcrest. Sounds like another personal problem. LOL For me the straw that broke the camel's back is what happened twice last week. I told my wife about it and said that it had been since the 2002 girl's season that I had a fan tossed from a game but I had to get the game administrator and the school's SRO to go after fan's twice last week. The first time the fans were going after the players calling out their numbers and saying sexually suggestive remarks to them in an effort to get into their heads and throw them off their games. Disgusting and I was not going to tolerate that. Cheer for your team or challenge the ref's calls -- ok, I understand that and with the price of admission I can accept that. However, paying for that ticket does not give a person the right to show their rear end and go after the players on the other team with such degrading attacks on them. For that, I will toss a fan.
  18. Right now, Warren County is in first place for the regular season if they can get past Cumberland County at Cumberland County and White County at White County.
  19. Sounds like a personal problem. LOL I'll let you take on the folks from Cookeville. Seems like they have dominated Coffee County the last few years but that is probably just my poor memory not serving me too well.
  20. But wait, there is White County and Soddy Daisy on the schedule! Should be two sure wins!
  21. That is hilarious! I used to hold a meeting with all the parents and players at the beginning of the season and show them a bag of tootsie roll pops. I told the parents that if I caught them lambasting the refs that I would pull their kid from the game, hand them a tootsie roll pop, make them walk around the field with it, hand it to their parent and tell them that the coach said that the only way they could stay at the game was if that stuck the tootsie roll pop in their mouth and kept their mouth shut. The parents knew it would happen too because I did it on two different occasions. I had a strict rule that the refs were my problem to deal with and not the parents and especially not the players. Any player that got in trouble with a ref for mouthing off got in serious trouble and the next day's practice after everyone else had left and gone home was when they would pay for that mistake.
  22. Will the parents that know something about the game of soccer please help the ignorant fans that are sitting in the stands? After years of soccer being played you would think that the knowledge level would have grown and the number of fans that understand the game would have increased in the stands by now. However, I have seen more ignorance of the game this year than I believe I have seen in a long time. No, this is not basketball. Yes, the ball can touch the line and not be out of bounds as long as all the ball does not cross all the line. Yes, a player can be in possession of the ball and step on the line and they are not "out of bounds" as long as the ball stays in play. Yes, in soccer players can push or make contact with another player as long as there is a legitimate play on the ball and the force is not "disporportionate." Oh, and good luck on trying to explain "off sides" to them and no there is no 5 yard penalty for being offsides. Yes, a player can be fouled and the foul not be called as long as the ref believes the player who was fouled still has an advantage by being in possession of the ball. Oh my goodness, and good luck on explaining a "hand ball" actually handling the ball. When it should be called and when the contact is incidental or calling an actual violation would destroy the other team's advantage. Do some of these fans pay the price of admission just for the pleasure of sitting in the stands and yelling at the refs? Is there supposed to be some good result from the excessive abuse of that? Maybe the experience of others has been different than mine this season but I found myself several times this year wondering where has all this ignorance come from after soccer has been in existence for such a long time now in this State. OK, I feel better now that I have gotten that off my chest. Anyway, hope everyone has good luck on the rest of the season.
  23. Cookeville 4 - 1 - 0 = 12 points Warren Co 3 - 1 - 0 = 9 points Coffee Co 3 - 3 - 0 = 9 points White Co 1 - 2 - 0 = 3 points Cumberland Co 0 - 4 - 0 = 0 points
  24. Uh a 6A school losing to a 1A school 31 to 27 ??? It's time to shut the program down.
  25. Cookeville 38 and Warren County 16. Hey, scoring is a positive thing. Little steps in the right direction. Like Coach Majors used to say, "Positve yards add up to first downs and first downs add up to touch downs."
