  1. None of the ladies who made the tournament team from Tullahoma were freshman. Shelton is a senior and Washington and Kyle are juniors. Freshman to watch from Tullahoma is Kara Adams.

  3. 5944, not trying to beat you up or your team up but what the coach is saying is that you seem to talk out of both sides of your mouth. In the thread about the ref here at WC you smacked the ref for carding 6 of your players and insinuated "home cooking." Yet, you all can play Lincoln County to a 3 to 3 tie until there is 10 seconds left to go in the game and a ref from CC who has a son that plays for CC calls a PK against LC and gives you guys the win. The LC coach blew his cool and was carded at the end of the game. Yet, we do not hear a peep out of you nor do we expect to when you are the beneficiary of a call by the ref. You are critical on this post of running up the score, but when your team was at WC you all had a 6 to 0 lead with starters still on the field when the yellow cards were given out. There was only 1 minute left to go in the game and the coach could not wait to get those players back out on the field to ensure that they preserve the shut out. So, at least to me, it sounds like you are talking out of both sides of your mouth.
  4. 5944, I figured CC would beat FC because FC is very weak this year and especially after you all beat Warren County the way you did up here. I guess FC is not as weak as I thought they were or you guys are not as strong as what you showed here. Good luck against Tullahoma.
  5. 5944, Reputations that are good ones are a valuable thing. Your daughter's reputation, your reputation, the reputation of your team, your community and your school are all important to you. So is the reputation of the ref that got wrongfully slammed on this board to him. Sorry if I have offended you with things I have said but bear in mind that I was trying to make a point. No one likes to get slammed unfairly especially behind their back. If that guy could not ref where one of his select players have come from at one time or another, then there would hardly be a school in our entire region (districts 7 and 8)that he could ref as he has had players from almost every High School around. He would not cut any of his select players any slack. It seems that you and maybe some others from Coffee County have some prejudice towards this ref. That is your problem and not his. Just because you feel that way towards him does not mean that he has bad feelings towards Coffee County or that he will not be a professional when he gets on the field and do his job. It is tough enough to step out into the center of a soccer field and that job is made harder when a person steps out into a situation where the fans already have it in for him before the game starts. I hope that we have all learned from this. I have many friends down in Coffee County that I work with and they are all good people. We talk soccer all the time. This discussion has not changed my feelings towards any of the people of Coffee County. Again, I just wanted to set the record straight. Warren County does not need a ref to cheat for them. No hard feelings here. If I have offended you or anyone else, then I am truly sorry. SHS01, you are a good coach and are setting a good example before your players. I have watched you over the last couple of years and have seen you grow. Keep up the good work!
  6. 5944, I do not know what your copying of SHS01's post means. If it means agreement and acceptance or sarcasm. What ever, please understand this, I and no one else wants to have a bad time with you or any of the folks from Coffee County. No one wants to hurt you, your kids, or the team. I wish you all the best success and sincerely hope the girls have a good season. But also understand this, no one is out to cheat your girls either. Good luck!
  7. Shs01, You are right about the coach at Warren County not telling his girls to "take out" the Coffee County girls. I did not mean my comments to sound that way but see how it could to some. I do not want that, you do not want that, and the coach at Warren County does not want that. I meant that I would use what happened to fire up the girls intensity and play harder. Putting more pressure and making it harder for Coffee County to win next time so that they would be glad to get finished and off the field. Sorry, for the confusion.
  8. 5944 is a classic example of how parents impose themselves on the game of soccer in a negative way. 1. Convince their daughter and other players that they are going to be cheated by the refs before the game starts. They set a negative tone with the players that causes the players to focus negative attention on the refs and results in the players doing something stupid in the game. 2. Supports their players in their bad behavior instead of teaching and supporting sportsmanship. 3. Insults the coach and players of the opposing team by implying that the only chance they had in the game would be if the ref cheated his rear end off for them. (If I was the coach of Warren County, I would use the attitude and words of 5944 as a respresentative of Coffee County to fire my players up. The next time we would play the score might be the same but at least the Coffee County people would learn a lesson in respect. They might would win but the Coffee County players would be glad to get off the field.) 4. Threatens the referee with physical violence. [Edited by Whitey on 9-1-02 8:06A]
  9. 5944, you started this garbage by whining about your players getting yellow cards that you did not think they deserved and that the ref had to be terrible and prejudiced for doing such a thing. Now you are willing to admit that your daughter probably did deserve or may have deserved the yellow card. If so, then what is your problem? The ref did his job. Quit being an overly sensitive parent. By the way, you still have not answered the question: is it acceptable for a player or players to scream "what is that crap" or "that is just a bunch of crap" at an official? We both know the answer, and that is why the girls got their cards. [Edited by Whitey on 8-31-02 10:51A]
  10. 5944, so I was right about your daughter receiving a yellow card! You are what is wrong with soccer. A pandering soccer parent who thinks their little darling can do no wrong and when they do and are punished for it it must be the fault of the adult. In this case the ref. I bet you are also one of those parents who run to the schools all the time in the defense of your little girl when ever she has a run in with one of the teachers. You come across as a parent who is defending your child's bad behavior. The ref did the right thing. It was more than one or maybe two girls who screamed at him. All six dissented and all six deserved to be carded. Two of them yell at him about "what the crap was that" and "that is just a bunch of crap." If you were as close as you say you were, then you heard that. If you still defend your players after that, then you are the one who has low character and I have nothing else to say to you. In basketball, if players yelled at an official the way they did there would be no discussion and no argument. Each of them would receive a technical and the other team WOULD AUTOMATICALLY be given a chance to score. Sorry, but that does not work in soccer. Since when did you become a mind reader and believe the refs intentions were to try and help Warren County score. If that were the case it would have been easier for him to have found an opportunity to give a penalty kick at some point in the game. How many penalty kicks or even for that matter direct kicks did Warren County get where they were a scoring threat? You are just a bad influence on soccer for supporting kids in their bad behavior. One last thing, as a parent sitting on the side line you have an opinion and a right to your opinion. I also have my opinion about what happened and I agree with what the ref did. Also, I thought that it was about time that he pulled a card out of his pocket and gave it to your girls for all the rough play and cheap shots they made behind the back. Regardless, that is my opinion. You have your opinion and I have mine. But you know what, it does not matter what our opinions are because the only one whose opinion counted was the ref's. "In the opinion of the referee ..." [Edited by Whitey on 8-31-02 9:03A]
  11. 5944 is the reason you are so prejudice in your remarks because your daughter (#17) was one of the girls that received a yellow card last night? Maybe you could not hear what was said from the Coffee County end of the field, but all of us folks on the Warren County end of the field could certainly hear the girls scream at the official. Sounds like you are bitter after all and not objective.
  12. 5944 (formerly Webbjm) and redrage, let me ask one simple question to test your integrity. When two refs see the same incident, agree on what happened, and make the same call and the players of the guilty team scream at one one of the officials saying things like "what kind of crap is that" and "that's a bunch of crap", what should an official do?
  13. Webbjm, go back and reread my post. I did not say that present players play for that official. I said that Coffee County players "had" played for him and that he had trained one of their "past" keepers. The point is that players from a lot of the schools in this region play for or have played for this official. You think that I do not know the difference between Tullahoma and Coffee County? There is a big difference including character. You would never hear Tullahoma coaches are players crying after winning a game 6 to 0 about the officials! Jack!
  14. A big crying towel for being the ultimate whiner goes to webbjm. Coffee County wins a game by a score of 6 to 0 and they still cry about one of the officials. Go figure. By the way, webbjm, the official you are talking about has also had Coffee County girls play on his select team and has also trained one of the their past keepers. So who should Warren County complain to? They are the ones who lost yet not one complaint. Quit your crying and enjoy your victory - you big baby!
  15. Abed1999, Do you have the stats from the game against Tullahoma the other night? From what I saw Warren County dominated possession of the ball. I counted Tullahoma with only 6 shots on goal and they were not able to get anything off the first half and the beginning of the second half. I did not see them have a single shot on goal until they were given the free kick outside of Warren County's 18 that gave them their first goal. Then in the second half they did not get off another shot on goal until the ref gave them another free kick outside of Warren County's 18 that was their second goal. After that it seemed like the Warren County girls got their heads down and that was when Tullahoma got a few more shots on goal. I am guessing that Warren County had about 18 or 20 shots on goal. Warren County was clearly the better team and beat Tullahoma everywhere but on the score board. However, that is where it counts. Seems like Tullahoma always gets the calls with the refs that help them to win. Did Warren County get a single free kick on Tullahoma's defensive half and have a chance to shoot on goal from a free kick?
