  1. OK -- this forum has gone cold. It is Cookeville at home tonight for a district rivalry. Any thoughts?
  2. 51 to 0 at homecoming??? Are you serious?
  3. There you go. Since Coach Willmore used to be an assistant coach on the football team then surely he would let one of the girls kick for the football team on Friday nights since the girl's soccer team plays their games on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Shoot, I'll bet he would even let a couple of them come out to run back kickoffs and punts. LOL
  4. Hey, at least the women's fotebol (soccer) team is doing good. They are 3 and 0 having defeated Ooeltewah, Cookeville, and Coffee County tonight 2 to 0. Maybe we can get one of the girl soccer players to kick extra points like the girl that used to kick for Kenwood's football team.
  5. Watch out, McCobb. You are liable to be labeled a "hater" for such comments. LOL
  6. I predicted Shelbyville 35 and Warren County 7. The actual score was Shelbyville 44 and Warren County 0. No comment.
  7. Good and to the point. Thank you. My sentiments exactly. When I mentioned "biting sarcasm" earlier, I was referring to my comments where I was "blaming the coach." I really don't blame the coach and was saying what I did sarcasticly as I knew those thoughts and criticisms would be forth coming. I have had very little chance to see this coach in practice but was impressed with what little I saw. Bear in mind, I have seen very little but know enough most of the time be able to sum of a situation with coaches fairly quickly. I hope he and his staff will be given the time and support to be a success. Believe me, my comments earlier about getting rid of the coach were not genuine but were sarcastic.
  8. Since, some people cannot handle criticism without sticking a label on those they disagree with in an attempt to dismiss their observations or to denegrate them personally: A look a labels: "Hater" - No. "Financial contributer" - Yes. "Supporter" - Yes. "Attendee" - Yes. "Disappointed" - Yes. "Disgusted" - Yes. But "Hater" - certainly not. Oh, "Biting Sarcasm" - Yes. You can also add things like "a sense of pity" for what could be a potentially great program in not just football but every sport but sadly is not year in and year out. Why?????
  9. Shelbyville comes to town next. After Shelbyville's thrashing of Coffee County, unless the Pioneers can make a huge adjustment and improvement this week, it does not look pretty. I will go out on a limb and predict the score to be Shelbyville 35 and Warren County 7.
  10. Well, it is obvious that after last season's dismal results and the start of this season that Warren County has once again hired another coach that is incapable of getting the results out of its athletes. The kids do great in Middle School but when they get to the High School the coaches there do not have the knowledge or the skills to develop the kids to the next level. Looks like a long season from the schedule. Maybe one day Warren County can finally find a coach that can come in turn them into the power house they are capable of becoming.
  11. What constructive feedback can everyone provide me? I am not interested in hearing from those who just want to bash some specific ref or refs in general. I am not interested in situations of "missed calls" because that happens with every ref. What I am looking for are instances where there was a blatant misapplication or no application of the rules of the game, unethical or potential unethical conduct on the part of a ref or team of refs, etc. Also, I would like to hear constructive suggestions for improving the officiating with an eye on improving the game.
  12. Can it get any more miserable than the present situation? I have attended and supported as many basketball games as I could even going to away games that were near by. I have donated money just about every year for nearly 22 years to the program. But the last 4 or 5 years I sat up in the stands with a friend of mine and said this is ridiculous. It looks like a bunch of clowns at a circus. Finally, last year I said that I have seen enough and until the program gets straightened out I was not going to waste my time watching another basketball game with Tullahoma and I certianly was not going to spend any more money or donate any more money to the program. I did not attend a single game this season for the first time in forever and I am glad I did not. When are people going to get a clue that the coaches are not the problem? You change coaches and change coaches and still get the same sorry results. Has anyone stopped to think that the coaches just might have anything to work with?
  13. They just lost to a very horrible Tullahoma team this past Saturday giving Tullahoma only their second win of the season. They cannot compete in one of the weakest districts of the State. How is the dynasty building going since they brought in the new coach to replace Coach Eades? Does not look like any coach can solve the issues with Warren County sports in general much less girl's basketball.
  14. Forget the band and the cheerleaders too. If that is what it takes to get a team to perform at its peak potential, then the team is not competent anyway. That is problem with the modern day education system that bases everything on "self esteem" rather than competence. They have to be "pumped up" to do their best. Well that may get them through the fantasy world of the public schools but when they hit the real world of work, they will fail. That is why the kids of other countries are blowing our kids out in academic achievement. Teach them to perform and perform well and they won't need a bunch of folks hollering to encourage them on. They will do their job well and run through anyone standing in their way like a hot knife through butter. That is what happened last night. The better team won and that is all there is to it. If the band had been there and the stadium packed with fans from Tullahoma, the result would have been the same.
  15. OK, I have read the replies and what it boils down to is this: no one has a cotton picking clue how the crazy system works.
  16. OK -- not trying to get into an argument, but could you please explain the reasoning that went behind the seeding. I am trying to understand the logic of it.
  17. That makes no sense at all. I can't speak for the other sports but I know that in soccer the team that wins the district gets the number one seed and the home field advantage. That carries all the way through the regionals. If they face a team in the regional championship from their own district, the team that won the district gets the number one seed and the home field. Does any other sport seed the teams like football? This would seem to encourage coaches to sand bag their season and play weaker teams just to have the better over all record. What nut came up with this system?
  18. Can someone please explain to me why Tullahoma is seeded number two to Columbia being seeded number one in their quadrant? Tullahoma won the district beating Columbia on the way to doing so while Columbia came in third in the district and lost to Tullahoma. This makes absolutely no common sense at all. The only reason that I can think of and I certainly hope this is not right is that the current head of TSSAA is from Columbia. Has favoritism or politics crept into TSSAA to affect the football playoffs? If not, then someone please provide a legitimate reason for this seeding.
  19. It was an extra point in overtime and not a field goal. Tullahoma had scored first in overtime with a touch down and missed their extra point. Kenwood answered on their possession in overtime with a touch down and then a girl soccer player came on to kick the extra point to win it for Kenwood. The Kenwood players picked her up and carried her off the field on their shoulders. One of the greatest High School atheletic events I have ever seen. I would rate it next to Ashley Martin's hitting a put back shot in basketball as time expired for the Tullahoma girls to defeat Shelbyville.
  20. Oakland 3 and Cleveland 0
  21. Oakland 2 and Siegel 1
  22. Anyone know the final from Disctrict 5AAA?

Oakland 2 and Smyrna 1 Warren Co 4 and Coffee Co 2 Anyone know the score from Cookeville?

    Region 4AAA

Tuesday (Oct. 12) at Oakland. I do not know the start time but I work with an Oakland parent and I will find out on Monday. Should be a good game since both teams are undefeated in the district.
