  1. Well it's good that you don't need a voice for CoachT.com because I dont have one. The Rebel fans (myself included) did want the Rebels to win as badly as the players. I assure you that's the truth. Did you like that delay of game? We just got louder and louder as he tried to change the call. I don't think we could have been too much louder than that. An amazing thing for a high school game too.
  2. The fact that it is highly possible that Franklin and Brentwood will meet again hit me in the car on the way home as well. And it will most likely be at Brentwood. That will be a battle, better than tonight's, and I hope we get to see it. [Edited by FHSrebel27 on 10-11-02 11:51P]
  3. OK, I'm ready now. Brentwood did defeat the Rebels tonight 16-8 in a thrilling game at Franklin. Before the game, it seemed as if Brentwood was a bit more pumped for the game, but that's understandable since many did consider them the underdog. Brentwood got the ball first and systematically ran the ball down Franklin's throat to make the score 7-0. I believe Franklin fumbled the ball on their first possesion (or they may have punted) and Brentwood got the ball back, drove down the field again and scored, but missed the extra point making the score 13-0. I believe that the Bruins field goal came in the second quater. Franklin had multiple turnovers in the first half, a couple fumbles and an interception or two. I can't remember exactly how many and I may be blowing it out of proportion a little. Franklin came out throwing the ball in the second half and looked fairly good. They certainly didn't give up. They scored on a nice little play (it was on the opposite side of the field so I couldn't really see much about it except the ref's hands went up). The two point conversion was good and Franklin was back in the game. The Franklin crowd really got into it on Brentwood's next possesion. They even caused Everson to become confused, tried to call an audible, but the Franklin crowd was too loud and there was a delay of game. I can't recall every seeing anything like that in a high school game. They moved down the field after that but missed about a 30 yard field goal attempt (although one official signalled it was good). The Rebels coudln't do anything (or was there another turnover?). The game is all mashed together in my mind right now so I appologize. Brentwood missed another field goal but Franklin's last drive came up short with a crucial unsportsmanlike penalty being called against the Rebels. Not quite sure what for. There were a few, I thought, questionable calls by the officials but you can't blame the zebras for a loss. The Rebels didn't give up, which I liked. We hadn't had to see that from them this year so I wasn't sure how they would react in the situation they were in tonight. I think this game only makes them stronger. I really do. Well, this is a Franklin fan's perspective so it'll be good if we get a Bruins' perspective to ballance me out. Good luck to both teams throughout the remainder of the season! Franklin has a bye week while Brentwood will host Kenwood this week.
  4. Congratulations to BA. I know it must feel good to finally know what it feels like to beat the Big Red. I'm sure it was exciting. It would have been nice if only one Brentwood team could have won tonight, but oh well. Also, guess I was ignorant for picking an MBA win here. I was just all wrong this week.
  5. Well, Wes and others, I'm not really in a mood to talk about it yet. I do need to say congratulations to the Bruins. I also need to say to Franklin that we're proud of you guys for not giving up like you could have. I'll post more in a while when I'm feeling better. Really tired so I don't want to be misinformative.
  6. Oh trust me, I don't doubt Russ's strength at all. I know how strong he is. He's been strong since middle school. But this thread is about the most punishing hitter. I too have veered from the topic, but I don't think Russ or Zach (no offense Zach, I just haven't seen it but maybe you are) is the most punishing hitter in the state so I don't think there is any need to argue this anymore.
  7. Wes, maybe you should go by the averages on county leaders...some teams may have played more games than the others which would alter your standings. Or is it possible that I just want Franklin to lead everything???
  8. I read today where Coach Johnson thinks that this game should be more of a defensive battle than many think. Well, I'm starting to agree with him. Therefore I shall drastically change my original prediction (I tend to do this a lot, don't I?) I think Franklin will still win, but the masses will be given some free football. Franklin 17 Brentwood 14 (Overtime)
  9. It's most certainly veered from the topic at hand. Yes, I've participated, but it's crazy now. Personal attacks on Zach and accusations that are unsubstantiated are not needed.
  10. Well, I don't know, just a gut instinct, kind of like when I predicted Goodpasture blowing out BGA. BA really should win it, but for some reason, I don't feel it happening, yet. Playoffs? If it happens, maybe. We'll see though. You know I still have a hatred for MBA, so I'll be supporting the Eagles, but don't feel it happening.
  11. Man, you wrote a lot. The second strongest on the team??? Jake Slaughter, Taylor Bourgeois, Austin Bourgeois, Tyler Smith, and some others. I am sorry. You were not the strongest pound for pound player either. Again, I am sorry. Well, good luck with your season. Dude, do you even play football? Because if you don't, you wouldn't really know, would you? Did you participate in winter and spring workouts the semester Zach was there? If not, you wouldn't really know. And really this isn't something that there is a definitive answer on and plus, all those people you mentioned, yeah, they've graduated (except for in the tragic case of Tyler). So therefore Zach could be right. Thank you.
  12. Um, hello? Does the high school Franklin ring a bell to you?
  13. Um no. Franklin-Brentwood is a much better game with bigger implications.
  14. Well, I see the 58, 59, 42, 31 point games and see that our offense is good. You do make a good point about Coach Crawford being a defensive genius though, hadn't really taken that into consideration. We'll see, may be less offense from FHS than I expect but I still think Franklin wins.

    Playoff Picture

It's looking like Franklin, Brentwood, Centennial, and Dickson County will represent the region in the playoffs. But the order will be decided with only Franklin having played Centennial and Brentwood playing Centennial. Those head to head games will be key.
  16. Centennial's only points came after a turnover. Franklin fumbled a punt return near their own 20. Centennial quickly got into the endzone after that. I want to say that Franklin had a couple other turnovers after driving quite a ways, but I'm not totally sure.
  17. Centennial does have a good team, and yes, they should make it to the playoffs. They have Kenwood, Dickson County, Henry County and Clarksville. The key game there is the Dickson County game. Is that at D. County or Centennial? I feel pretty safe saying that Centennial should win the other three games, and have a decent shot against Dickson County. If they do win out, they're pretty much in the playoffs. And it would be possible to lose to D. Co. and still make the playoffs. After next week, I'll start working on possible final region standings (something I used to do when I was a Super 7 supported and enjoy greatly even though it takes countless hours, especially with three weeks left after this). If Centennial does make it to the playoffs, I wouldn't be suprised if they won a couple games. Williamson County should fair pretty well this year in the playoffs.
  18. I have to say as a Franklin fan, I still think that was pretty tight. Too bad no one has mentioned the 30 or so Franklin guys who went up to the hill opposite of Centennial to make sure our fans weren't distracted by ya'll . I was telling a friend of mine, I've been to some big rivalry games before (mainly MBA/BA) and the excitement Friday night was nothing compared to any of them. It was great.
  19. ) Thank you! I thought fans could do all the talking in the world that they wanted to. Of course, if it's going to inspire Brentwood (which I would hope it wouldn't since I am just a fan probally don't know what I'm talking about most of the time ) then I'll be quiet. Plus, didn't you see FHSte84's post shutting all the Franklin player's up before they started talking? The Rebels aren't stupid. They know Brentwood is a tough opponent, the toughest they've faced all season. I assure you that Franklin will not walk into the game overconfident. GO REBELS!
  20. I think what he was saying was the Centennial was lucky that Franklin didn't score 40 points because of A)good defense from Centennial and B)Franklin made a couple mistakes that prevented them a couple scores (which would have had them at 42).
  21. HAHAHA! That is pretty cute how yall keep on talking about this 5-0 like it is a big deal. The team that BA lost to was in the top 25 in the nation. We lost by 1 point. When was the last time FHS played a top 25 team. I'd probably have to say never. Too bad he won't be able to show his ability in any big game because FHS will not go far in playoffs. Yeah, now it's 7-0 compared to what? 3-2. (not including a game against a JV team, that's stupid to include in a season record) Listen. FRANKLIN IS THE REAL DEAL! Live with it. Cody Green is an amazing football player. Live with that too. And live with the fact that we got Zach Andersen and he's producing quite well for us. stinks for you. It'd probally nice to have a player of his quality on your defense. BA is not as great as you think they are. Franklin is better than you think they are. Ugh, people like you just really eat at me cause you have no clue what you're talking about at all.
  22. See, there's that great senior leadership that you've heard about. It's even evident on coacht, off the field. It's stuff like that that makes the Rebels a good team. So it's OK that I have a big head about the Rebels? Good cause it's getting bigger and bigger after every game...GO REBELS!
  23. Franklin is of that caliber, if not better! No, they're not on the stupid side. Franklin really has a good chance to meet the predictions on here so far. But hey bigdog, I guess we're just stupid. We don't know anything about Franklin football and how GREAT they are this year or anything. I mean, they weren't leading 5A in total points scored before Friday night or anything. They haven't outscored their opponents 270 to 86 either. I mean come on, call us stupid? You're the one that's stupid by not seeing that Franklin is indeed an amazing team!
  24. Experience? Maybe. "Veteran" leadership? No. The "veteran" leadership on this Rebels squad is one of the main factors of their succesful season so far. Yeah, sure, maybe Brentwood is as good as they were last year, but Franklin is as good as that or better. I'm sure you'll be a believe of the greatness of this Rebel team one day. And don't tell me not to make score predictions either. When I make my predictions, I make them from the perspecitve not as a Franklin fan but as a high school football fan with a little bias towards the Rebels. Also you really don't have the knowledge to make non-score prediction "I think BHS will pull this one out" when you haven't seen them play. You obviously don't realize how great this FHS team is. But as I've said time and time before, the team doesn't care what you or anyone else thinks. They'll just go out and prove you wrong anyways.
