Baserunr - I can honestly tell you that my mentioning the batter staring me down was only small talk with the reporter. I had no idea that it was going in the paper, and I'm not sure how relevant it was to the story in the first place. The girl that gave the look wasn't even the one that got hit. Of the two batters that I hit, one had her hands over the plate which puts them in the way of riseballs and the other was hit by a pitch that just slipped (I'll admit that she was very far off the plate). Accidents happen, and, as everyone else has pointed out, it makes no sense to purposefully put a runner on base in a one run ballgame. My apologies to the girls that were hit.
