  1. How can Cleveland even be considered on this list. They haven't beaten a team with a winning record yet this year, have they?
  2. i agree with the previous post. Chattannoga soccer is better this year ans there is more parity. Hopefully, Chattanooga ara teams can fdo well in state in all divisions this year.
  3. Iagree that John Templeton and Chris Pollard are very good players. Chris Love has some skills that would allow him to be considered one of the best players in East Tennessee but he sometimes plays outside his limitations or outside team structure. In otherwords, at times he dribbles when he should pass and sometimes shoots with no chance of putting the ball on goal. Maybe these two reasons are why he is not in the middle. Don't get me wong. He has the tools. He is strong, fast, and explosive. I guess sometimmes his choices are not the best for the team. All this said he is still a valuable player, but not one of the best.
  4. Congrats to the Cherokees. Best wishes in playoffs and keep the momentum going.
  5. excuse me but this thread is about suggesting teams that might be D II state contenders-not about last year or yellow cards.
  6. After seeing the Soddy-McMinn score, I believe McMinn would be a consideration.
  7. sounds like nobody was satisfied with the tie and the way they played. A rematch later should be very interesting.
  8. Well, it seems that Grace did win and the outcome next time may be different or could be the same. Grace has got to be developing some confidence after the Baylor and Sweetwater wins.

    WOW

Could it be because he went from a public school to a private school? Or could he have moved into Georgia and is going to Grace? Wat other exceptions sound more logical?
  10. Cleveland comes up short on this one again. It could get ugly if McMinn scores early. On the other hand, if Cleveland employs a bunker defense, it could be a close game.
  11. Hey Stevescarb, I appreciate your stand on foul and abusive language. My question is do you think high school or for that matter college will ever go to Fifa rules? Wouldn't there have to be several modifications including the substitution rule? Without a modification for extra substitutions, the chance of switching is slim and none.
  12. I agree. Coach Earls deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence with other great Tenn. coaches.
  13. Kendren, great post and well said!

    Ooltewah

I wonder if it is time to close this thread?
  15. I have seen soccer timeouts several times. One year in Brazil, the top league allowed each coach to use one timeout. It was weird. Another time was at a college game that was being televised live. These timeouts break the flow of play and seem unnatural. It is almost like playing 4 short quarters. No good at all.
  16. Write, email and call. One of the College services is $1500.00 and a waste of time.
  17. Thanks Surf4Life for the explanation. Maybe some restricted shot opportunities like play the ball to the corners or no breakaways or only headers or shots outside the penalty area only could eliminate some goals.
  18. It sounds like Coach Harter to say he can't control his players, but I know the coach at Science Hill very well. I was disappointed and embarrassed to read that score. He is such a nice guy on and off the field. This is totally out of his character. Can someone from Science Hill explain the situation. Did he try to run it up or did the players get out of control?
  19. Just explain on the field why you don't talk smack about a team or player before you play them. But in doing so, concentrate on your team goals and not I will show someone up or I will put him in his place. Actions speak louder than words.
  20. Emilio was on the team without the benefit of his father. Later on his dad got involved. Emilio made te team on his own merit.
  21. After tonight, don't you agree that McMinn has the potential to be tere?
  22. So now- let's give credit where credit is due. To Coach Earls and the Cherokees- Great job. And by the way it was Coach Jimmy Weekly who was there, not Wheatley.
  23. It will be tight with Soddy coming out on top.
  24. well said soccermadness. There are many reasons why freshmen should listen to upperclassmen and not talk smack to them on a public forum. Sometimes it is best for the upperclassmen to explain things to freshmen on and off the field.
