  1. Bearden's Coach is Matt Buckner. He is a great guy who relates extremely well to young men he coaches.
  2. 1st - Michael our thoughts, prayers, whatever positive karma we can muster are focused on you and your family. 2nd - all you folks who are putting out the negative "waves" please refrain from posting on this thread.
  3. He is......and she lives about 3 miles from FHS. When staying with Dad he's about 2.9 miles from FHS.
  4. My son had the opportunity to go to this after his Soph & Jr. years and I do believe it was possibly the best.....or close to it.....exposure he received. The scouts in attendance were from many of the schools he was most interested in.....the atmosphere was enjoyable for the boys and productive from the "showcase" perspective. (I still think the 60 should be electronic whenever possible) I recommed it highly for Tennessee ballplayers. Thanks TBCA for this avenue.
  5. I have been pretty lazy on the boards lately........a few more specifics: Waldrop - 3 innings, faced 10 batters, 1h (bloop) 6K's, 0/BB Catapano - 3 innings, faced 10, 0H's, 3K's, 1/BB Sherrad - 3 innings, faced 12, 2 H's, 1R, 3K's, 1/BB Delmonico - 1 inning, faced 3, 3K's - He had a super day at SS to go along with a 2B & HR. Our guy's played solid defense with 0 errors. It was not that we were not hitting - 3 k's in 10 innings.....just hit it right at 'em tonight. Their pitchers were good......it was good to see the good ones this early. The Soph (?) - big lefty - kid who pitched the last 3 innings is going to be good. This was a pretty good team. I am going to watch them this year.
  6. I would throw Webb in there as a very good squard.
  7. Everyone seems fit.....arms are in good shape.......snowboards packed away and Waldrop is not allowed to play frisbee at church.
  8. Cannot go wrong wrong with either the Sportsbelle or the Warrior. The others should generate some great ball as well. I only know our team is playing in the Belle, Senic, and Warrior and we will have to bring an "A" game to all three. .........my early season gameface.
  9. Vol 24, I'm with AdDad24 in thanking you and the other guy's for a great experience this summer in OK......and as you know, my son is the shorter of the two. Seems like for a while they were always standing beside each other in pictures and I had to separate them.....now that the recruitment process is over "Harry" can again stand next to "Wally." :justwrestle: .........and you will not hear alot of rap around Farragut either.
  10. davidlimbaugh, I think I see it now......especially from the Mid-TN perspective. We're just glad to to coming and getting to face this top competition. This is the kind of tourney where you stick around and watch other games because of the caliber of the teams. Looking forward to it.....heck, we're looking forward to just getting started.
  11. I'll weigh in on this one.......both events will have some pretty doggone great teams in attendance. In both events you had better come ready to play. I do not quite get the way the "Warrior" is designed.....pool play? Is there a system here I am not familiar with as our team only plays 1 team listed in our pool. It could be because of the large number of teams there that week-end. I just am not sure how the teams were paired. I'm not complaining because we will be playing 4 excellent teams that will challenge our boys.....and playing good teams is the best way to prepare yourself for the stretch run.....and get better. Regardless, barring any weather problems, both events will be very high quality.
  12. Farragut in a close one....they have not been to the playoffs in a few years. These guys are hungry for it....particularily the Seniors.......FHS 24, SD 21
  13. Thursday Rresults: Farragut Blue 7 Bearden Maroon 1 Philip Heming pitched the complete game, 4/5 hitter, 0 ER's, ?/K Farragut was led offensely by Jon Pigg 2/3 w/4 RBI's [B]Farragut White 5 Bearden White 3 Details unknown
  14. It should be a fun tourney again. Farragut has two teams (split squads) again this year....and I doubt we will see each other in the final again this year. #12's Blue team plays at 9:00 and 1:30, so thats a bummer for us......but we hope to get out of there in time to see the 2nd half. As far as the rain goes....if we're lucky, and the speed of the storm stays as is, we might get that 1:30 game in before it starts. They said they expected it to start around game time tommorow.......but weathermen are like Dr.'s......their "only practicing." I do believe the 3:45 games were moved to Sunday which was a good move I think. I wish we could have had the K'ville teams play one last night at Bearden. Save some "skins" for me.

    Admirals

Undefeated......I would hate to predict something like that, however, there is no denying that the Admiral's will return a talented group of players. As Farrfan said the entangibles motivation, leadership, and desire to repeat will be the keys. As in the past years we have been affilated with the program, any fall-off won't be from lack of preparation. This should be an exciting season coming up.....a strong returning Champion that everyone will be hunting, 2 new and hungry coaches breathing new life into their programs, and load of great players spread out across the local districts. Don't crown Farragut the Champ just yet......but don't blink either.
  16. I do not think Farragut will be in either Lakeshore of Oak Ridge. If my info is correct they will play intersquad and some week-end tournaments. This is the same format as last year. There may also be a few select pick-up games along the way.

    FA15

FA15 will be missed by the Admiral's this coming year....not only as a pitcher, but as a team leader and role model for the underclassmen (actions and academics). He will be remembered for his overall play, but in particular, the middle relief performance against a very hot Hendersonville team in this years determined march to the state title. It was one of the top performances of that post season run. Good luck to you FA15.
  18. FA15 is correct....only 1 JV. It consisted of the Sophmores and about 6 Freshmen. Try-0uts are Monday and Tuesday at Farragut......I anticipate only a JV squad this year as well.
  19. It's my understanding that Farragut will not have a Freshman team this year. They did not have one last year and the Freshmen that played....played JV teams. The middle school has fielded a team for the up coming year and will feed the HS team. Coach Pharr would be a great person to talk to about it....or Jim Braden. Braden volunteered to do, and did, the freshman teams when #12 was a freshman and Soph.
  20. Bizazz, If you guys play the Mobile Bay Sox, and you get the chance, say Hello to Rob or Becky Hendrich for me. Their son Rob leads off and probably plays CF/SS. Rob played, as do several of the other fellows on that team, for St. Pauls Episcopal.....ranked above and below the Admirals in the polls this year. He also played ball with #12 when they were little in Mobile.
  21. My congrats as well Wally. I have had the pleasure to have seen just about every game (H.S. & summer) this young man has played over the last 3 years. I hope, and think it will be, only the beginning.
  22. Bizzaz, Wrong Thunder group (17's.....most at the Worth TBCA this week-end)....but I know the 18's will be there (mostly in Cleveland I hear) this week-end. Congrats on yesterday's win..... By chance should you two meet on Sunday......let me know where and what time.
  23. Won both today TN-8 Canada-4 and TN-12 Missouri-2 Check www.tbca.org after 11:00 a.m. tomorrow for breakdown. These wins put TN in the Championship game tomorrow night against either Mississippi, Arizona, or maybe one other I can't think of right now.
  24. It was tough.....TN-7 Miss-6....won on a walk off homer by Rawley Bishop.....highlights on HS Baseball Web - Tennessee Forum.....and much better coverage on www.tbca.org.....just not enough time to cover on all sites....the motel here in beautiful McAlester kicks you off-line quickly.
