So, what were the final injury totals like using metal cleats in high school this year? Just curious as to how they have compared to past years not using them.

I think you know exactly what I'm talking about in "handling parents." So, no parents work on the field? In many programs, parents expect their child's playing time to equate to their time working on the field. Somehow, I don't really believe this and it's doubtful that many others do either. I'm not slamming the program, Ooltewah has very good recent tradition and they had a super sophomore class this year. The "handling parents" statement had to do with what I've heard and observed in the past couple of years.

Ooltewah should be strong next year. Who are the potential coaches the Owls are looking at? From what I've heard, the new coach better be someone that can reign in Ooltewah's parents, quickly. Good luck to the Owls. (Back on topic, I think Farragut returns a bunch, too.)

They do have All Tourmament teams. In Class A - Jackson Christian In Class AA - Goodpasture In Class AAA - Farragut These are your All Tournament teams.

You can't be serious. You need to check out the softball boards. You have parents calling the pitches to be thrown by their daughters and not listening to their coaches. Way too many parents now days feel like if they devote time to the program, booster club, working on the field, fund raising, etc., that their kids are entitled to play due to the work THEY put in. It don't work like that in high school, or at least it shouldn't. Too much DADDY BALL in both softball and baseball. Let the coaches coach!

Show up over at Lookout Valley about 7:15, their game with Silverdale will probably be over by then. You can probably get a game with one of the teams.

I've already said it on another thread, but.... Grace vs. CSAS. I like CSAS in a close one. Silverdale vs. Lookout Valley. Lookout Valley in 5 innings, probably 15 or 20 to zero. It really doesn't matter, Lookout Valley will beat either CSAS or Grace in 5 for the Region.

I'll take Hixson and Marion County in the Region 3AA final.

The Lookout Valley game is at 6:00. The Jackets will run rule Silverdale. CSAS @ Grace will be a much better game. Grace scored a bunch of runs lately, basically off of middle school pitching and defense. I'll take Grace in a close one. In the Region final, I'll take LV in a run rule game.

I don't know about how embarassing the championship games really was. Marion County appeared in the Spring Fling last year and have a very solid ballclub again this year. They can hit with anyone and seem to peak at the right time. I wouldn't be surprised to see Marion and Hixson play again on Wednesday. In a one game, loser goes home, winner plays again, type of game, anything can happen. Josh Coppinger can shut down ANYONE when he is on. The Wildcats can hit with anyone when they are on. This is why we play the games.

You're kidding, hopefully. Recruiting a coach that's been banned by the NCAA? Oh yeah, that's who I want coaching my sons.
