Good Insight! What a tool! If OR can get him, hire him! Watched him for years with less talented kids and have a chance to win most of the times. Never will forget the way he handled himself during a summer camp at OR against Maryville and Coach Nelson who thought Lee Humphrey was getting roughed up during the game! Class act!!!

Point well taken! I don't care who they hire, it's just some of the reasoning why they should hire this guy vs that guy that is crazy. It's kind of like recruiting, you recruit on potential. OR has potentially a good athletic base, so this is a good opportunity for a well established coach. I am not saying a good young coach couldn't do the job, but I doubt they will get the chance! The OR job is a high profile job even if the past few years have not produced big "Wins". High School jobs are a lot about having the talent pool to do well. You can be a great coach and not have much to work with and never get the opportunities you deserve, that's why it's all about potential. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken s)*%.

Good Luck with that post. OR has had a lot of "potential" stars at that age! Let me know when they hire a boys club coach who has had great relationships with those players! I probably shouldn't say, due to Zach's current situation! I am looking forward to getting back involved with the game again. I have been really missing it the last couple of years!

I would take Jody Wright over Green every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Not even close! Not to say Green wouldn't be a good choice, but not over Jody Wright.

He is going with Ricky to Webb to be his assistant and coach the JV. Doing some fundraising work, but I think the coaching bug has bit him! I have always been a pretty realistic parent when it comes to my kids abilities, but Zach will do a very good job coaching. Thanks for asking!

O21, Have we agreed on two points in a row? I think David would be a good choice, if Jody Wright is not available. Jody is the BEST High School coach in this area by far, not even close! David Scott knows the kids and the ins and outs of OR and the "Political" pitfalls. Couldn't go wrong with either!!

The last time around I spoke with him and he told me he would lose too much. I did not get into the particulars with him but this is what he shared with me. I for one think if OR could get Jody, then the search should be over quick! I do not know the retirement,tenure,etc or do I care to. This was just an FYI!
