  1. CORRECTION: LINCOLN CO 5 / FRANKLIN CO 2 CORRECTION: LINCOLN CO 5 / FRANKLIN CO 2 FRANKLIN CO PLAYED A GREAT DEFENSIVE GAME. JUST COULDNT GET THE BATS TOGETHER
  2. Unfortunatley, I had to miss the game. What happened at first base that has everyone questioning the umpires call?
  3. When will Coffee Co. play again?
  4. I appreciate your input. Good luck to you in whatever you choose in life.
  5. I just want to thank everyone for your input on this topic. This is something that goes alot futher than softball or any other sport. This is a problem that needs to be taken very serious and for the record, I hope this young lady can get back on the right path. I was not trying to put her in front of the firing squad. This type of behavior is something that I have been noticing everywhere for awhile. Just goes to show the way things used to be done, (ie, prayer in school and leaving the ten comandments on the walls) was not so bad. Again, I appreciate your feedback and concern.
  6. Do you know if she is kicked off for the rest of the season or if idefinitely? I am not sure but I was told that she is a sophmore.
  7. I am also very impressed with the young lady (C. Jones ) from Tullahoma. From behind the plate, she has great ball movement. If she stays healthy, we will be posting about her for the next 3 years. I think Tullahoma would have been in trouble without her in the dugout this year.
  8. Tullahoma has a freshman pitcher (sorry don't know her name) that will be hard to handle if she stays healthy throughout her softball carrier. From what I have been told she pitched a great game against Columbia (at Columbia ) to give Tullahoma the victory.
  9. I agree completely. I think you have hit the nail on the head. We put so much on our kids to win that it takes the fun out of the game, and this is all it is "A GAME". As you stated to the young players, life is going to hand you strikeouts, errors, and we all have made a bad call in something that we have tried and in doing so this should build character and teach you to pick yourself up and try harder the next time.
  10. You are correct, and I am guilty of doing just that. Giving her to many chances before I actually did what needed to be done. I guess it is bothering me at this level because it was my first ejection. I have been umpiring for several years and have never seen anyone act this way.
  11. I am not sure, I wondered this myself. Not sure if she has the personality to be that aggressive and I mean this in a good way. I think this type of behavior is overlooked when the player has some ability to play and I think this is the wrong approach. It is an honor to play in organized sports and if you cannot show respect for the sport and all that is involved, then the privilege should be taken away.
  12. I was involved with a game tonight, and watched a young lady disgrace her team, her family and herself with a very poor attitude and absolutely "NO RESPECT" for any authority at all. The young lady was ejected from the game after she had been warned and given actually more chances than she deserved in the last inning with 2 outs and now she will have to miss the next 2 ballgames. What has or is happening to the youth these days. You do not hear, "Yes ma'am or "No sir" at all. This has really bothered me tonight and I just wanted to see if anyone else was seeing the same down hill trends with manners.
  13. Coffee Co. 1 - Franklin Co. 0 Both teams played a good ballgame.
  14. i also think whitney darlington from tullahoma should be "mvp". i have watched her from an umpires position for 4 years, and have never seen her not give 120 % everyplay. as for coach of the year i also agree with chs4life regarding coach terry floyd. it is much harder to stay at the top than trying to get to the top. coach floyd lost alot of key players, and was still able to keep this program where it has been for a long time. i am not saying other coaches do not deverve this title, but to do what he did and to keep the program at the top, to me says alot for him.
  15. I would like to know if any other school has ever pulled off a triple play? This is something that you do not hear of at this level of play.
  16. I agree with you guys 100%. The most important thing is to get the call right. We all are human, and to make the calls on the bang-bang play takes a "that second" desicion. I think everyone should have to umpire at least on ballgame and work for the public for 6 months, and they would have a whole different outlook and respect for umpires and public servants.
