  1. My last legit 6A estimation after further evaluating and organizing. I think this is the fairest way to do it using both competitive balance, geography, and common sense. Thoughts? Region 1 William Blount High School Maryville High School Morristown-Hamblen High School East Jefferson Co. High School Science Hill High School Dobyns-Bennett High School Region 2 Bradley Central High School Cleveland High School Bearden High School Farragut High School Hardin Valley Academy Region 3 Cookeville High School Hendersonville High School Lebanon High School Beech Senior High School Gallatin High School Region 4 Siegel High School LaVergne High School Smyrna High School Stewarts Creek High School Oakland High School Region 5 Warren County High School Riverdale High School Blackman High School Rockvale High School Shelbyville Central High School Coffee County High School Region 6 Summit High School Centennial High School Franklin High School Brentwood High School Ravenwood High School Independence High School Region 7 Clarksville High School Rossview High School West Creek High School Dickson County High School John Overton High School McGavock High School Antioch High School Cane Ridge High School Region 8 Whitehaven High School Germantown High School White Station High School Houston High School Arlington High School Cordova High School Bartlett High School Collierville High School
  2. Competition, in this day and age, should trump tradition and rivalry in my humble opinion...especially since the tradition/rivalry games can be played in non-region contests. Just my take. I'm for fairness and balance.
  3. Oh...gotcha. For fairness sake, I would make that adjustment I mentioned. It's just way too loaded of a Rutherford County region without switching a few teams. That would be unfair and it's written in their bylaws to balance and make the regions as fair as possible. That was my point on that one...sorry, I got confused on which one we were discussing!
  4. Because we’re balancing the regions with less teams. A 9-team region would be unfair to say the least! Especially when there is a way to make all regions much more fair and balanced,
  5. Not bad at all...Region 3 would have to be a bit different maybe by adding Riverdale and Blackman and subtracting Cookeville. Then, obviously, whatever region Cookeville is in will be “Region 3”.
  6. Well said and well done!! I love it. I would flip Siegel and Rockvale due to geography, but I’m all in...this makes perfect sense!
  7. And are all those Memphis schools going to stay in the TSSAA? A lot of rumblings from over there. In my opinion, a region should have at least 5 teams and 6 if at all possible. They should combine those Memphis schools into 1 region. Period. Add another region elsewhere in the midstate where there are many schools.
  8. Very doubtful...ain’t happening. If they ever split the Murfreesboro schools, Oakland and Siegel would go together to another region.
  9. I think they should go to Region 4 based on geography. They are actually closer to all those schools plus it balances out the regions numbers wise. Just my take. They have been that direction in the past, so it’s just one of those schools that is hard to place since their out there all alone. Geography should trump everything in that situation.
  10. Their website says at least one week prior to the BOC meeting in November they will post the classification alignments.
  11. Agreed. The director of schools in Shelby County got into a big media spat with the TSSAA and ran his mouth a bunch! Seems like he has dug his feet into this "dropping out" and "forming a Memphis City League" scenario. It's a crazy idea, but it is Memphis. Nothing is off the table.
  12. I'm not sure if they announce before meeting or not? They probably do. I know there is span of time that they give for schools to decide if they are playing up or not.
  13. Kreager did not drop out any of the Memphis schools. If that does indeed happen, it will change these projections to be sure.
  14. Supposed to be at the meeting on Thursday, November 12th.
  15. That does open things up if this is true. Based off some stories I read in August from the crazy director of schools in Shelby County, I suspected they may have several schools drop out. Do we know who is dropping? Is it virtually all the schools over there that are not playing this year?
  16. They may do that again. Who knows? With Stewarts Creek and Smyrna along with the Murfreesboro schools, that would be brutal! I guess that’s why they split those northern Rutherford County schools off into the region with the metro teams to avoid that. All bets are off on how they’ll piece it all together, especially in the midstate....a bunch of schools to split into probably four different regions.
  17. Agree. The thing about reclassification is WC sits so far out there and isn’t really close to either region. Looking at all the 6A schools in the area, it seems reasonable to balance the two regions with a 6-team and a 7-team region. Cookeville, Lebanon, Hendersonville, Beech, Gallatin, and Warren County in one. Coffee County, Shelbyville, Riverdale, Blackman, Rockvale, Oakland, and Siegel in the other. Otherwise, it would be a 5-team and an 8-team region. All that said, who knows what the TSSAA will do??? They could split the Murfreesboro schools up or do something off the wall. I’m just going by recent history and geography obviously.
  18. It’s possible. However, the truth is Region 3 has never been as down as it is this year. Blackman along with Rockvale will continue to have more athletes at their disposal. I expect those two teams in addition to Oakland and Riverdale to have the best athletes year in and year out. Cookeville and Warren County on a rare year can compete for a playoff spot. Also, what region will Warren County be placed in for the new cycle? They could stay in with the Rutherford County schools or they could get sent to the Sumner County/Lebanon/Cookeville region.
  19. It’s a ‘once in a blue moon’ season for WC. Senior loaded and things will regress dramatically after this year.
  20. Good game for a half...maybe three quarters...then WC pulls away for a comfortable win.
  21. Yeah they obviously don’t have the depth as a first-year program, but they are improving and have a good coaching staff. In a few years, with the talent in that area, they will be a very good 5A program. Their facilities are second to none too. I lean towards Giles County for this particular game, but it will be a good matchup.
  22. It’s Green Hill. The community that is in Wilson County and not the Hillsboro section of Nashville with the mall. It’s a common misconception and mistake people are making currently, but hopefully this issue will gradually improve over time. Should be a good game by the way.
  23. Region 6-5A is going to be completely different regardless. Station Camp will be with Mt. Juliet, Green Hill, and Wilson Central along with whoever else they put in there. Springfield, however, since it’s west of I-65, in Robertson County and not in Sumner, and near Clarksville seems to be a perfect fit for Region 7 with those Clarksville schools and Henry County and possibly Dyer County. It makes things more balanced and seems like a natural geographical split.
  24. Shelbyville and Summit will be a great one! Probably a big time offensive shootout. The athletes/skill guys from both teams are top notch!! Summit is 7-1 by the way...lost to Franklin.
  25. Makes it interesting to be sure. Henry County is the top dog until someone beats them.
