  1. I think Shelbyville, Franklin County, Coffee County, and Warren County for sure in a AAAA district together. If any others are in that district, it would be maybe Cookeville and/or Rockvale? The questions: is Cookeville going to be in with the Wilson County schools?...and is Rockvale going to be included with all the Rutherford County or Murfreesboro schools...or not?
  2. Yep all those schools are growing rapidly.
  3. Can anybody post the link? I’m not able to get it to open on their website.
  4. Gonna be a great one! I lean Lebanon by just a little...Wilson Central struggles on offense and Lebanon can score! Could go either way...great rivalry and whoever plays the best for 48 minutes will probably earn a hardfought, close win.
  5. Could be true. Hillwood is the wild card. We know Gallatin has its issues. So, the argument is whether Hillwood and/or Gallatin are better than Page. Not real sure. May be a toss up? I agree about Columbia, Franklin County, and Lincoln County. Below average teams that have loads of weaknesses and maybe one or two positives.
  6. I think the two regions are very equal this year. Not much difference whatsoever. Beech and Hillsboro are good. Summit and Shelbyville are good. After the top two in each region, it falls off significantly. Gallatin and Page have both taken big drops this year, but I expect both to rebound next year under the new classification/region structure obviously.
  7. Yeah....that’s a real shame! Those kids deserve to play and finish their season. I feel terrible for them. Had a couple winnable games left too.
  8. Kids aren’t vulnerable! Not by a long shot. Massive overreaction with this contact tracing fiasco.
  9. Yes, it looks like they will. Unless the TSSAA does something weird.
  10. Well said! Lack of great leadership and pure common sense is lacking severely in this state and all around this country!!
  11. With the three way tie when each have beaten each other, the first tiebreaker is overall wins. Columbia will win it. If two of the three had the same number of overall wins, then it would go to head to head. In other words, two teams are immediately eliminated due to overall wins and one is left standing. I have a big problem with this tiebreaker rule, and always have!! It’s ridiculous to use a wide range of non-region games to determine playoff seeding! Should not happen. They should be using points allowed or point differential (you could even limit it to just the first half) between just the tied region teams. It’s logical and makes sense. As for Columbia, yikes! Beech will have revenge on their mind and it could be ugly! Columbia has fallen apart almost completely.
  12. Time will tell. Shelbyville may play Hillsboro in Round 1. And we all realize Hillsboro is probably the second best team in that region. It’s just too bad they are not playing Gallatin. What a huge break Gallatin will likely get by getting to host Page as opposed to going to Shelbyville. Huge break for Page too! What a horrible break for both Hillsboro and Shelbyville!
  13. Central seems to be having too many issues. I expect a competitive game into the second half, but SD pulls away after that. I’ll be watching!
  14. Yeah it’s a real gut punch and so sad for those kids! I’m sure they were crushed! Especially since virtually all of them were perfectly healthy. I think they had a very good chance to win. They may get a shot in the playoffs. Who knows?
  15. Agree. I don’t think they would have beaten Page either. However, you hate it for the kids to not have that opportunity all because perfectly healthy kids are sidelined by this “contact tracing” ridiculousness! They have a QB that is dangerous and they can put up points, so you never know for sure until you play.
  16. Pure insanity!! Kids are fine. How many hospitalizations of high school kids in the state? I think it’s zero!! Asymptomatic = False Positive; Contact tracing = Bogus Nonsense
  17. You’re forgetting about Lincoln County. It will likely be a three-way tie with Lincoln County, Franklin County, and Columbia for 4th. Lincoln beat Franklin who beat Columbia who beat Lincoln. Straight three way tie with one win each. It will then go to overall wins. Columbia will easily beat a bad Stratford team this week and finish with 5 wins (played a very weak schedule, which is why I despise using non-region games for tiebreakers!!). The other two will likely finish with 3 and 2 overall wins, respectively. Columbia’s reward will be going to Beech as a sacrificial lamb, unlike last year.
  18. Exactly. It was a game they could have really used to try to nail down a playoff spot, especially with Summit in their final game. Now, it looks like they’ll finish at 1-3 in region play. If everything holds, it looks like a three-way tie for 4th. Columbia is going to win the tiebreaker with 5 overall wins. Looking like Columbia @ Beech in the first round again. This year, unlike last year, could get very ugly!
  19. Was it the contact tracing nonsense that sniped another game? Anyone know?
  20. Because there was time to make it fair for everyone. In the Metro case specifically. All they had to do was mandate that all the region games be played. Metro had six weeks and that was enough time to get in all the region games in the three regions that were affected. It’s simple stuff. It’s about fairness. That said, it certainly doesn’t de-value any of the state champions that will be crowned this year. Everyone will play it out on the field. The point is why this happened when it could have been avoided. Not everyone is playing everyone in these regions, and they had time to do so.
  21. Why in the world are we playing the “if” game?? In 2020, of all years, have we not learned to quit playing the “if” game? There have been years where the likely best team loses its best player or was ravaged with injuries. Another team won the state championship. And guess what? It means just as much. That’s the way it works in sports. No need to play the “if” game any given year, especially this year.
  22. Completely disagree! Gonna be tougher to win this year than any other year. It will be well deserved and very much earned. I was waiting for this excuse to pop up unfortunately. Knew it would come from teams that expect to lose in the playoffs or not make the playoffs at all. It’s a sad commentary on our world today...make excuses when things aren’t going your way.
