as for those people who left and were ready to leave. talk to them now a lot of them miss home. many said they were ready to leave and then went to college and found out life was different and now say they wish they were back. i believe people hate the community of manchester because that is all the see, but wait until the leave they will be saying different. look at all of the college kids that have come back after going somewhere else. why did they come back because they missed it. i sat at basketball games last year and saw people drive an hour and an half to watch it. everyone puts the blame on someone else like sports. "coffee county sports stink, i hate the coaches, can't wait to leave" is all you hear. it isn't the coaches or the communities fault.
i know i am a little late on this post but i just found out about it. i played football for coffee county for four years. i was a four year letterman and i want everyone to know that breeden is the best coach i have ever played for. as titan was saying he had all of these kids on the sidelines thinking they were coaching and really didn't know what to do. it isn't breeden's fault that some of his players are selfish and undiciplined. my senior year we had a very good team but we had individuals who wanted to play for themselves and ended up losing the game for us because they fumbled or felt bad for theirselves so they get mad and make stupid mistakes. breeden got me prepared for college better than apparently anyone else. i play football for lambuth university and going through two-a-days all the incoming freshman were saying how hard these practices were and how they didn't believe they could make. breeden's practice were twice as hard and i thank him for it. for all of you who think he is a bad coach go to his practices and see how many people don't show up. what could he do. thanks for everything coach breeden.
Coffee County has always had a good women's program, and i believe that they have the best 8th grade group ever. there are three who are just excellent athletes, nicole mcwhorter, jenna swanson, and katie hillis. and one or two who can play.
