  1. i know that a lot of people might get mad at me for this, and a lot of people are SURe to dissagree with me, and the truth is that i have not seen tyler smith play since early last year, and i have yet to see a lot of the knoxville or memphis players, but after watchin brandon wright play tonight i am fully confident that he is the best player in the state of tennessee. he makes the game look incredibly easy. no1 cna contest his jump sugar because his head is up at the rim when he releases it. after playing him last year when his jumper was not as pure i would say that as long as u keep him from being around the basket then he cant kill ur team completley but now i must update that statement and change it to...THERE IS NO WAY TO STOP THE GUY, HE CAN ONLY STOP HIMSELF. i have seen jamont, i have seen tyler, and the truth is that while they are incredible players, another amazing athlete(And there are plenty of those around this year being as it is one of the most athletic years in TN basketball in a long time) can at least slow some of these players down enuff to make the game winnable. i also thing that with chris slay not on the team anymore, barry turner in sum suspension problems, and david holbert no longer playing, both glencliff(jamont), and giles(tyler) have much stronger supporting casts then wright does but the plain truth is that no player on the court can alter what brandon does, the only player that i can think of that might match up would be the 6'8 post that plays for antioch, david palmer, but even in that, brandons jump shot and ability to score with both hands sets him way apart for even palmer, a very big prospect to most every SEC school. mark gasol from memphis got outclassed by wright last year, and wright was no where near as good as he is now, and gasol was in my oppinion a more then formidable big man.i feel that if brandon goes up against a defense that will committ to making him shoot the midrange jump sugar and not beat them on the block, then if brandon(much like any other shooter) has the potential to have an off night, which would turn BA from a very good team, to an average at best team, however like i said before, the only player that can stop him is himself because when he elevates for his shot, it is just him and the rim. his passing ability, and newly harnessed ball handeling skills(he brought the ball up the court against daryll hardin, one of the quickest athletes in the state,USN pg) along with incredible size and length make him the best player in the state, at any age.
  2. PLEASE TELL ME THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO CANT WAIT TO GO TO THIS STAR-FILLED TOURNEY!!!the matchups will just be tremendous. first round matchups will feature such stars as Henry Harris of Stratford, Brandon Wright of BA, Ro Murray of Oakland, Marshall Bryant of Hillsboro, and Jamont Gordon of Glencliff. this will be tremendous. how about that first round game that has my favorite to win, BA taking on Harris and Stratford. if they were in different brakcets i would have picked those 2 to go to the finals.(with Ba winning by 5-10) how awsome would it be to see Bryant take on one of his former teams Ba in the championship. if he can shoot them past glencliff(which is a big if) then i feel that it could be very possible.(if u dont know about bryant, then go and watch, this guy would hit from nba range when he was a freshman, starting for a BA team that had david harrison playin in it.) my overall predictoin will be that BA will have just too many scorers for Jamont and Glencliff to stop. i do think that blackman is a very dangerous team. i also predict that mvp honers will go to brandon wright who will have a huge tournement along with gordon and bryant. sadly i feel that father ryan will be the doormat of its own tourney, but that huge gym will house sooooo many fans, and that should make for an atmosphere that will be hard to beat.if only all of those rumors about giles co playin were true...with all of that aside, this should be some KILLER basketball, and i cant wait.
  3. can anyone tell me real fast an estimate of how tall robert williams, the other great player for peral cohn is?
  4. i saw knox catholic play tonight, and all i am going to say is that the final score of the BA game against them will be as follows... BA: 119 KC:4 ok maybe not 4, but big B should have more points by himself then KC will have as a team. They are GARBAGE!
  5. waddup everyone, i was just wondering if anyone ould give me information about where the state tourney will be played, or what the opening ceremonies are. this is my first year goin with usn, and also, if anyone could give information on Knox Catholic, like players, or record or big wins or losses that would help. on a side note i would like to say congratulations to all the middle teams goin, (usn, mba, and BGA) mba, and BGA, yall played a incredible game, and congratulations to justin for playin so strong, and congratulations to brian, for gettin the game winner. Also congrats to father ryan on a good season. Thanks yall, and ill see yall in memphis.
  6. I AM RESPONDING TO THIS POST THAT WAS IN THE MIDDLE REIGON TOURNEY THREAD! Kerr288 Posted: May 5 - 07:28 PM Manager Group: Guests Posts: 30 Member No.: 10531 Joined: 6-Feb 02 I'm not predicting anything, but Father Ryan's tough schedule is paying off big time. Belmont-Abbey signee/USA 19:U player Center Mid Nick Wyatt has been out for the majority of the season and he is making his highly anticipated return when the region kicks off. His presence in the middle will solidify one of the best lineups in the southeast. Goalie Ben Stevens reminds me more each day of a younger Tony Meola. It would be cliche to say that he is a wall, but honestly the guy is the best in the biz. From what I hear is that he is graduating then going over to England and is going to sign with Manchester for a ridiculous amount of money. Irish are going to be tough. i would just like to put this up for duscussion, and anyone who has anything at all to say about this post please just chime in. all im going to say is WHAAAAT ARE YOU TALKINg ABOUT!!!!!!!!
  7. i am impartial, but i would have to give my vote to travis english, a 5-8 foward for usn, who in just 6 games alraedy has recorded 9 goals. and 4 assists.
  8. o u better beleive that no1 was calling tyler overatted, i said that usn is unranked in the top 10 and BA is number 4, that is the only thing i was talkin about, as far as tyler goes, ive only seen 3 keeps better thenhim in the state, paul love(mccallie) russ street(franklin) and whatever tat dood was for ryan a while ago(wolverines)
  9. although i will not knock BA because they are loaded right now,a nd they have a great coach, we are still talkin about 8th graders right now. and yes Scotty is playing next year, and he will b the most experienced player they have, u cant say that the next 4 years are there just because of 8th graders. brandon is excellent, barry is great and everyone who hsa played david knows he is a beast. that is why i say that right now they are loaded. next year will be fun watchin scotty play next to joshua bone and mason.(even tho mason will prolly loose major minutes)for what they have right now they are very set, but we can not assume anything of 8th graders. they have a great coach, who will try his best to make them as good as they can be, but only if they want to be that good. also, i would say that yes the division will not be particularly strong next year, but i count on darrell hardin, curtic mccord, and especially matt addison, 3 returning starters from USN to be very very special next year. matt should probably take all state honers with his 23ppg average, and darrel averages right abour 13. both of those numbers should go up, and the streaky shooting curtis mccord should be up there as well. i know that matt and curtis are set to play aau with the mustangs(i think that is the name) and rumor has it that they may receive the services of a very good player from up in pulaski tennessee.(keep in mind that that is just a rumor)these along with a few oakland players should make that aau team a very formidable opponent, and one who will be able to challende yomca for the best int he state. but back to the topic, while BA has a very veyr very bright future with the great players that they have right now, i would never say that a team is a lock due to an upcoming freshman class, because middle school and highschool are two very veyr different things.

  11. i guess sum1 is either overatted or underrated becaue USN beat BA 2-1 in a game that should have been a 2-0 game today.
  12. i wanna adress this issue once and for all. as a departing senior for the USN basketball team, a team that got beat by BA twice this year, i want to first off say that anyone who appreciates basketball should appreciate the way that BA plays. they go about 9 or 10 players deep into the bench, and most of the people on here should keep quite anyway, becaue ba has 5 second string players who could start for most of ur schools as it is. second off, the arguement of recruiting is one that i am very tired of hearing. no forces anyone to do anything, the players who play for BA play because not only do they want to play for a good coach, and play against good competition, but they want to play in a place where they can prepare themselves in the classroom as well. just a question for everyone, WHAT DO U THINK IS GONNA HAPPEN TO THESE GREAT PLAYERS IN A COUPLE OF YEARS WHEN THEY GO TO COLLEGE? second off, if u have a problem with the percentage of black students vs the percentage of black ball players then u must realize that that "problem" starts way way way before brentwood academy. it starts with the fact that if a black kid who lives in say, murfreesboro wants to get a Brentwood academy type of education, there is not one available for him/her, so dont get mad at them for making the trip to get to school each day. blame ur congressman for that. while i adress this prblem now, i will make sure that i am not ignorant of the fact that this stupid debate will go on long past this, because the truth is that u wil more then likley see brentood academy just as dominant for years to come. all of u will just be sitting back talking trash while BA will be winning games, graduating great kids, both black and white, and athletes and non athletes. lastly i just want to point out that every private school offers financial aide, and they do not just do it for athletes of black people. artists get it, singers get it, or just to put it plainly, ANYONE WHO IS SMART can get it. TALK TO THE ADMINISTRATION AT BA AND I CAN ASSURE U THAT THERE ARE MANY MORE STUDENTS AT THAT SCHOOL THAT RECEIVE FINANCIAL AIDE WHO DONT PLAY BALL, THEN THE NUMBER THAT DO!. so just pleae shut up, and just congratulate them for bringing such an amazing crop of individual talent, and getting them to form into one of the best teams ive ever played against!
  13. mccalie is not that good, usn dominated the second half agaist them too, on saturday, and they only beat usn 1-0, on a cheap goal on what should have been a foul. i really hope that is not the best in teh state.
  14. YOU KEEP FORGETTING TO ADD MATT ADDISON, 6th in SCORING!!!
  15. hey, i know u probably diddnt have too much info on them since they were transferrs, but how would u rate the 2 juniors from USN, matt addison, and darrel hardin. addison averages close to 24 ppg and darel is right around 15 i belive, if you had known what u know now, where do u think these guys would fit into ur top 100?
