  1. It's that time of year where I ask everyone who is willing to send me a copy of your local papers high school football preview. As always any dupilcates I receive I will send to anyone who wants them. NCF P.O.BOX 1107 BUCKEYE LAKE, OHIO 43008 Thanks in advance
  2. I am up here in Ohio and other then the Tenn/Kentucky allstar game I get to see no Tenn. football so I was wondering if anyone could tape the tv games and send them to me? I am willing to send you blank tapes in return for your tape and pay for the postage. Leave a message if anyone can do this. Thanks in advance.
  3. For the participants in this game thank you for such a great way to kick off my 2007 high school football season. To those who were not able to make the drive to see this one you missed a solid football game filled with two very talented all-star teams who left it all on the field. The games first big play would be made by the team in blue when Wesley Woods(Prestonburg)got to the Tennessee quarterback, Jaren Troutman for a six-yard loss with, 8:50 left in the opening quarter. Just twenty-nine seconds later the Blue storm defense would come up big when, a bad snapped on a punt play ended with Logan O’Connor, an Eastern Kentucky recruit being tackled by Dee Lett (Christian County). The Kentucky offense took the field needing only twenty yards to take the early lead and with the potency that this offense had one had to think seven points would be put up on the scoreboard in no time at all. But, the Tennessee defense ended those thoughts when Tyree Ford a Tennessee-Martin recruit picked off a pass thrown by Nick Petrino(Trinity). The Tennessee offense got a big eighteen-yard run by Dennis Rogan who is going to play his college ball for Tennessee. This young man reeks with talent and that is meant in the kindest way possible. The Tennessee offense would see its drive come to an end when Ryan Beard(Bowling Green)picked of a pass thrown by Troutman with, 5:59 left in a scoreless first quarter. Petrino would connect with Douglass Beaumont(Male) who picked up nine-yards after putting on about ten different moves making multiple would be tacklers look silly. The drive would net three points when Casey Tinus)(Bowling Green) easily made a thirty-yard field goal. The scoreboard read 3-0 Kentucky with, 3:27 left in the quarter. Tennessee would go right back to the ground to get things started and with 2:25 left on the clock Chris Shiverdecker a Carson-Newman recruit picked up big yards all the way down to the Kentucky thirty-yard line if, not for a nice tackle by Avery Hibbitt(Bowling Green) this one might have gone for a score. Joe Castaneda(Covington Catholic) held Rogan to a two-yard gain on a nice defensive play. The young man from Coving Catholic looked liked the real deal but according to the roster and an inside source he will not be taking his talent to the field in college. Facing a third and ten, Tennessee would use a quarterback draw by Troutman to pick up the first down as he gained fifteen on the play. The quarter would come to an end with Tennessee driving and Kentucky leading, 3-0. With 11:14 left in the half and Tennessee facing another third and ten quarterback, Troutman dropped back and found a wide opened Anthony Anderson a Tennessee recruit for an eleven-yard score. After the point after kick by O’Connor was, good Tennessee had a 7-3 lead. Keith Tandy (Christian County)show cased his elusiveness has he picked up seventeen yards on a fine run. West Virginia looks to have gotten a good one out of the Bluegrass state being this is where this talented young man is going to play his college ball. Tandy would show he could also use his arm when he hooked up with Tim Huguley (Louisville Central) for a twelve-yard gain. In my eyes and many others down on field Huguley showed he has the ability to play at the D-1 level next season even though he will take his skill to Fort Union. With 9:40 left in the half Tandy would take off for a twenty-five-yard run and if it hadn’t been for a nice tackle on the play who knows how far Tandy would have gone. Tandy would see a teammate, tip his next pass to another teammate, Dan Spoelker (Trinity)who looked very comfortable running with the ball as he picked up a big first down. At 6-0 and 245 pound one would have thought he had played a little fullback somewhere. With, 7:56 left in the half Tandy again used his feet to pick up another Kentucky first down deep inside Tennessee territory. Forty-three seconds later Vic Anderson(St. Xavier)scored from a yard out and after Casey Tinius(Bowling Green) connected on the point after Kentucky has a 10-7 lead. Shiverdecker, who to me seemed to be the best of the Tennessee backs picked up thirty-two yards and then a face masking penalty would tack on more yards giving the offense a first down deep inside Kentucky territory. Rogan would go for ten right up the gut of the Kentucky defense. The offensive line for Tennessee was making things easy for their talented backs as they were dominating the Kentucky defensive line. Rogan would take the ball all the way down to the Kentucky one-yard line as he easily picked up thirteen on the play. With, 4:58 left in the half Shiverdecker put his team up with a touchdown run. The point after gave the visitors the lead at, 14-10. Cole Trim(North West Mississippi State Community College) and Dasmine Cathey(Memphis) teamed up to sack the Kentucky quarterback for a four-yard loss with 4:09 left in the half. From there the Tennessee defense would hold Kentucky getting the ball back to its hot offense. With, 1:33 showing on the clock, Rogan behind the solid play of his Offensive line easily picked up twelve yards giving the Orange team a first and goal at the Kentucky two-yard line. Shiverdecker would take it the final two yards and after the point after kick was good Tennessee all of the sudden had a 21-10 lead. The half ended with Petrino being picked off by Corey Watson(Tennessee Tech) Kentucky would get the ball first in the second half and nine plays later Tandy hooked up with Huguley for a twelve-yard touch down. The point after made the score 21-17, Tennessee. On the drive Tandy went 3-4 and the O-Line looked like a line on a mission. Tennessee, who Offensive line looked head and shoulders above their Defensive counter parts in the first half continued to do so on their first drive of half number two. Anthony Anderson picked up over twenty-yards on a reverse play. But, with 5:29 left in the quarter Stuart Hines (Bowling Green) plastered Rogan for a two-yard loss giving the home team so hope that the line was going to start playing like many knew they could. Tennessee would go right back the ground d with 4:57 left on the clock but the Kentucky defense was not fooled as Ryan Beard(Bowling Green) and Kasey Clark tackled him for a four-yard loss. The Kentucky defense was wound for sound and with 4:48 showing on the clock Big, Bad Luke McDermont (Trinity)got to Troutman for a ten-yard loss. Kentucky had the ball and looked to be moving but Kaelin Ammons(Franklin County) with a lot of green in front of him opted to throw the ball trying desperately to make something big happen for his team but, Chris Hohl (Tennessee Tech) made a nice play picking off the pass. With 1:37 left in the third quarter THE NEWARKCATHOLICFAN/BLUEGRASSPREPS,COM DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME PHIL HIBBARD(SOUTH LAUREL) would track down Chris Shiverdecker for a four-yard loss. This, was the big guys second big play in a row and seemed to fire his unit up in a big way after the interception. With only five seconds gone in the final frame O’Conner would show off his leg for Tennessee with a forty-five-yard field goal giving his team a 24-17 lead but, as I stood on the Kentucky sideline I could sense the home team knew right there and then that they were not out of the game and one might go as far as to say they knew when all was said and done the score would have them out in front. The NEWARKCATHOLICFAN HIT OF THE GAME CAME WITH 10:55 SHOWING ON THE CLOCK. Travis Hogsett(Tennessee State) laid out Tim Huguley but Huguley would pounce up like a cat in a fight and as he headed toward the sideline his teammates were giving him big props for getting up as fast as he did and telling him it was no big thing. This seems too, have only add fuel to the Kentucky fire that was just getting ready to burn as bright as it ever has in this game. With 9:24 left in the game Douglas Beaumont(Male) following his blocks and using his God given talent went off on a twenty-five yard run. THE NEWARKCATHOLICFAN/BLUEGRASSPREPS.COM OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME, VIC ANDERSON(ST.XAVIER)went twenty-three yards for a score. The point after tied things up at, 24. The crowd erupted and on the sidelines the players did too. Sturt Hines and Joe Castaneda teamed up to stop the Tennessee receiver for a big loss and the fire was burning out of control with no way for the team in Orange to put it out. After getting the ball back the Kentucky offense went to the ground and with 6:31 showing on the clock Huguley would break off a twenty-yard run showing Tennessee that, that big hit was no big thing. With, 6:25 left in the contest Mr. Tandy dropped back to pass and left go of a beautiful pass in the direction off Beaumont, who easily ran under it and took it to the house for another Kentucky score. The point after gave the home team a 31-24 lead. 5:44 showed on the clock when Phil Hibbard showed some closing speed that a 6-7 300 pound person is not suppose to have as he tracked down the Tennessee quarterback and hit him forcing the pass to go awry. A real sports reporter standing near me said that just isn’t right. Kentucky would take eleven plays and use up a lot of clock to score their next touchdown and that came in the shape of a two-yard run by Anderson, his third score of the game. The point after ended the scoring, 38-24. The Kentucky defense though wasn’t through with its total second half domination. Joe Castaneda picked off a pass putting yet another log on the wild fire that Tennessee could not put out.
  4. Thanks for the link. Also just putting this back to the top hoping another poster will send their preview.
  5. Sorry about the mix up.I did mean South Side.I seem to forget to use full names of schools some times, sorry.
  6. What I usually get(ask for)is the preview that comes out in the local papers. Now if you have something even bettter I would like to see that also. Thanks.
  7. I know none of you know me or have seen my feew post on this site, but I will ask anyways.I collect different newspapers high school football previews and hope to get some from Tenn. this year.I was able to get a few that had some of your schools in them last year from the good posters over at www.bluegrasspreps.com.I go to the Kentucky vs Tenn. all-star game and it would help knowing the players and schools a little more. My address is 1379 hebron road apt b heath, ohio 43056. I also get them from ohio from the posters over at www.jjhuddle.com/ I send out any extras I get and would be willing to send them to any of you who share a intrest in them.
  8. First I will be 100% honest I am from Ohio, and don't know much about your team.I have watched Trininty play a couple of times.Once last year they destroyed our Big SCHOOL CHAMPS(CINCINNATI ELDER) by a score of 44-20.Brohm made a good defense look like a horrible one.The other game I seen them beat Male(louisville)59-56 IN THEIR STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.Brohm was awesome in that one, also. Some say Brohm doesn't scramble well.I would beg to differ. He might not be fast, but is a smart and wuick runner, who seems to know is limitations, when it comes to this part of his game. Some say he will struggle because he lost his top wide receivers.Again I will offer a different out look on this.He is so talented that the drop off will be little or known. He knows his wideouts already and knows what they can or can't do. I won't make a bold prediction as far as scores goes, but will stick to what I posted on WWW.BLUEGRASSPREPS.COM "Trinity wins" Good luck to your school and may you win your state title.
  9. I meant Memphis South Side.
