state is a lot different than best of preps. I hope they do well though. It has been a while since a public school TEAM from Chattanooga has done well at state.

I believe CCS tied it late in the game. It was like a win for CCS and a loss for CSAS. Should be a great game. Team that makes the most mistakes on defense will lose. Both keepers are awesome. CSAS probably has a better back line.

ND won 1-0. Pretty clean game. No yellows that I saw. Teams played hard. CCS will have to play CSAS next week. (unless Boyd scored the upset tomorrow) Either team could have won this game. ND finished their oppurtunity, that was the difference.

I am sure Ooltewah has a tarp. Thats why they could continue to play after the first rain delay. Seems like it is up to the umpires as long as they have completed 5 innings. Same thing happened at Hixson but they were able to continue play because of the tarp and it didnt rain again but how long would they have waited? They waited about 90 minutes. Hixson was losing 1-0. Can't wait all night.

I think a responsible ref that cares about their reputation would not ref a game that they have obvious ties to. If the game does not go well... which some do not, despite good reffing... they have put themselves in a situation to be blamed because of their association. Its an issue of protecting yourself and your reputation as a ref.

Can't make much arguement for Baylor as #1 but there is little difference in these two teams. McCallie has been on top so until they lose to someone, they stay on the top.

yes. District 6 A/AA might look something like this Bledsoe vs ER Winner faces CCS Notre Dame vs Hixson Or maybe the other way around. Anyway--- East Ridge will have to beat CCS or ND to get to the region. I guess it is possible but highly unlikely. The other district is a little crazy with sweetwater and McMinn Central along with Boyd and Grace and CSAS. Should be some interesting semifinal games in that district.

as noted many times... schools are not allowed to recruit on an athletic basis whether they are public or private. Privates are open zoned and magnets are as well. (although some do have limited zones) CSAS basketball and Tyner football are the only magnet schools in chattanooga that seem to be benifiting from the open zones.

call TSSAA to report it. call Temple to see if it is true. The kid probably doesn't know what he is talking about. Again, if it is true, it needs to be reported. Otherwise this kind of stuff will never stop. A church is not allowed to give scholarship. (if the student wants to play varsity athletics) Money has to come from their parents, or I believe it even says a family member. Whos to say a church is not giving the family $$ to pay tuition. This COULD be happening at other DI schools. Temple's success should attract some transfers. The recruting typically happens by players and parents. I cannot image a coach at Temple is contacting players. Ooltewah has about five tranfers on their baseball team, doesn't mean the recruited them.
