  1. Coaching friend of mine emailed me that the scrimmage between Rwood and Rdale will start at 4:30 and it will cost $2 to get in.
  2. Congratulations to Kathy Kroeger of Independence High School in setting the new state record for the Girls' 3200m. Kathy set a new state record last night beating the 13 year old record by 13 seconds. Her closest opponent was 1:30 away. The new record is 10:33.32. She will run at 5:20 on Wednesday the 24th at MTSU.
  3. Here's the link from the Tennessean about the hiring of Coach Blade from California which won the CIF-SS Division II championship. http://preps.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...=12428&game_id=
  4. California, Florida, Texas are always the top 3. Every year it seems to switch as to which state is the best. Yes, population does play a huge part in it. Depending upon which College Conference you may align yourself with, SEC, PAC-10, Big 10, WAC, ACC, etc...you will see players from across the country but a higher percentage of the player are from within the region of that particular conference.
  5. Coming from Springfield...I-65 South to either Goosecreek bypass and head West to Hwy 31 and veer left and the school will be on your right about 1/2 mile. Or you can continue down I-65 South to the Hwy 840 and follow the directions that Donathan gave....Hope to see everyone there. http://www.wcs.edu/ihs/athletics/football/news_FB.htm
  6. I guess you can not believe what you read in the Tennessee papers. Sheesh! As for the IHS game last year between the two teams...it was fun game to watch, both teams playing in the monsoon that took place that night. Yes, the hilltoppers did win the game in overtime. I saw some good young talent on both teams. Sad to hear about players not being eligible. To gain the fame on Friday nights...
  7. What is the outlook for IHS this week against Springfield? What does springfield run (O & D) and what problems do they potentially pose for the Eagles?
  8. Solid post donathan.....Best wishes to the Eagles' players, coaches and fans.
  9. If it is such a bad situation...why was there 18 applicants? Sounds like there are a bunch of coaches out there that want to be a head coach. Is any of the current assistants from last year going to be there next year? I saw them play last year against Independence High School.
  10. What does everyone associated with the program feel about the hiring of the assistant coach from McGavock as the new leader for Hillwood? http://preps.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...=12407&game_id=
  11. www.sparqtraining.com to find out about Nike combines and Training camps.
  12. www.sparqtraining.com List when and where for Nike Combines and Nike Training Camps.
  13. HitorBehit: You are on track about Page, Cent, and IHS. There are a few players that were to be at Page that are now currently playing for the Eagles. As for the game this coming fall....Fans for both schools better enjoy it. This may be the last time they play each other, ever! Both schools administration can not agree on continuning the "Battle for 840." This August will be the final matchup between these two schools. Just for extra drama...the game will ironically be played at Page. In talking with the coaching staff at IHS, they are focus on their season. Yes, they are looking forward to the game with Page. But, that is not their main focus. They are looking forward to gaining a foothold in their region. It is more important to win region games than a non-region game. Even if they do win, as bulldog said they are a 5A team and Page is a 3A team, the only thing that matters is a little bragging rights. It has no direct affect on their playoff hopes. IHS beats Page, everyone will say they are suppose to because they are the larger school. They lose and the folks at Page act as if they won the state championship. Page has been a good school for the past nine years or so. Playoff contenders for almost everyone of those years. Coach Bennett and his staff did an excellent job in turning the program around. Now, they may go into a little funk. However, the current staff with Palmer and company can guide the ship in the right direction. They need to focus on their region just as much as they do with IHS. Best wishes to both teams on the coming season. Hopefully, I will be in town to see the game with Page and IHS.
  14. Here's the breakdown according to the TSSAA website (just incase you don't want to click over to the TSSAA website): 4200 1A 3540 2A 4132 3A 4752 4A 5840 5A
  15. Is there any posting of who made the All -Region for Region 6-5A?
  16. I second this thought....Congrats Coach ELA!!
  17. I have always enjoyed the AFCA convention and clinic. Great place to network and learn from the best from all levels of football. This year the clinic will be in Dallas Texas. Here's their website where you can find the information: http://www.afca.com/ Also, I do like the Nike Coach of the Year clinics too.
  18. CC, Your Lions threw a ton last Friday night. Wow, what an aerial display by both teams. The ball was flying in that game on both sides. Looks like #27 Baugh got the best of it. He had a couple of tremendous catches. That 57 yard TD was a great catch. He went up and took it away from #2. I guess you were right, teams will have to prepare for him next season. But, CC looks like they have several athletic players that teams will have to prepare for next season as well. The talent in this region is crazy. Good luck in the off-season. Best wishes to the four teams from Region 6-5A. Do all of us fans proud and one of you bring back the Golden Football to the Region!
  19. Congrats to the Eagles!! Tremendous job this year to the staff and players. I know that Coach Smith and his staff worked extra hard this year to keep the players going after the death of one of their players. It looks like the team is beginning to turn the corner and truly played an exciting and fun game last Friday night. Work on getting stronger and never forget the excitment and fun you had winning the first varsity game in school history. Take it with you throughout the coming season. Best wishes to Coach Smith and his staff.
  20. Hey, CC your team finishes up the season with Independence tomorrow night, what are your thoughts on the game? I have seen IHS play a couple of times this year, they have some good young talent but they need to gel together more as a team. I think it is mainly from being young still. They do have a couple of good talented players to watch out for, I saw where you placed Issac Baugh in that category. He is very athletic and could be a threat to defenses in the future. I think this could be a good game to go see this Friday. As for the list, I find it interesting that a team like Ravenwood who throws a ton only has one receiver listed. I would think coaches have to prepare for more than one.
  21. Dickson County can control the clock with their offense. They can grind it out for 6+ minutes. IF Franklin's Defense can force 3 and out to Dickson Co then I can see the Rebels offense doing well and win the ball game. It all comes down to the defense. This game, I feel, won't be a high scoring game. Franklin's kicking game may be the final deciding factor. The Rebels have the advantage if the game comes down to the Kicker.
  22. Here's how I feel right now that the outcome of the rest of the season will go. There are still a couple of big games left that could mess this all up. Yet, it is always fun to predict and see how close one can get. Without further blabbing, here's my picks, if anyone really cares.... LOL!! Week8: Predicted winner: Rwood @ Indy Rwood 5-0 Indy 0-5 Bwood vs. Cent Bwood 4-1 Cent 2-3 Dickson vs. Cville NE Dickson 4-1 Cville 1-4 Frank vs. Columbia Frank 3-2 Colum 1-4 Week 9: Rwood vs. Cville NE Rwood 6-0 Cville 1-5 Bwood vs. Indy Bwood 5-1 Indy 0-6 Dickson vs. Frank Frank 4-2 Dickson 4-2 Columbia vs. Cent Colum 2-4 Cent 2-4 Week 10: Rwood vs. Dickson Rwood 7-0 Dickson 4-3 Bwood vs. Cville Bwood 6-1 Cville 1-6 Frank vs. Cent Frank 5-2 Cent 2-5 Columbia vs. Indy Columbia 3-4 Indy 0-7 Predicted Standings: 1. Rwood 2. Bwood 3. Franklin 4. Dickson County BTW, the numbers next to each team would be their respective region records. I believe my calculations are correct.

    Why I Coach

Way to go Coach BTW, how did your team fair? Who all was in the bowl? Any bright spots for the future on Friday nights for us fans to watchout for?
  24. reaction, I totaly agree with your last point. There is plenty of time for any team to turn it around. There is still 2/3 of the season left to play. An 0-3 team could end up 7-3 by season end and be playoff contenders. As for teams like Oakland, they are traditionally good and I feel they will turn it around and have a good season. Playoffs....playoffs? Time will tell. Best wishes to all the teams, coaches and fans. Support your team no matter what happens throughout the season.
