  1. Obviously Seymour has a much more tallented team than Sevier County this year. SC lost most of their offensive line last year and QB situation is questionable at best. Sutton and Parton can't do it all by themselves. QB's are key components to a team. Having said that, I'm glad to see that Seymour is playing as a team again now that a former QB (AND HIS FATHER) are gone. Good luck, Seymour!!!!!
  2. A family member that was at the games said it was home plate. I was just going with what I was told. Nothing was mentioned about the knee. But, again, none of the shoulder injury was attributed to her pitching.
  3. Professionals think Prugh's injury to her shoulder was sliding at home plate in the Soddy Daisy tournament. She may have jammed it (R shoulder) as she was making sure her left hand was on the bag, but they really don't think it was due to the pitching.
  4. Gretchen is a great player, good work ethic, team supporter and all around great person. She deserves to play at the next level and she will do wonders for someone's program. Any college coach would do well to get her. Any kid that loves softball, has the tallent and the desire can find the travel teams to play on in order to get to the next level of playing in college. You, as a parent, have to be supportive, willing to travel and give up your time and money to make it happen for you children. We did and had the best times of our lives and saw some tremendous softball games. We don't have any regrets, only the greatest of memories. Our daughter is playing in college. It was her dream and it has been a wonderful experience for her. There aren't enough words to tell you how much John Sterling and Fred Fekete have helped the kids in Blount County and what they have brought to girl's softball.
  5. I understood what you were saying!!! What I am saying is that because you are an OR coach or player show some respect for the other team and their coaches. They are working hard to win just like OR. Some of the things that the OR coaches do (and showing the kids by example) is the very reason others are on Coach T bashing OR. Everyone thinks their team is the best, but don't treat other schools (teams and coaches) like they are a nobody by turning your nose up at them. You have to respect OR because of the effort that is put in my everyone in that city to make their schools the very best--the best schools, the best football program, awesome band, etc. Others are trying to do the same---still we show respect to others schools and programs whether we won or lost!!!!!
  6. I'm very well aware that this is a football board. If you read some old posts you will find I am responding to the coach that said OR coaches in football would not shake hands with his players. I'm saying the same thing happened in basketball. I was at a basketball game where the OR coaches and 1 player did not shake the hands of the opposing team that won. I was at that game and it also happened last year with the same opposing team. I was at both games. Obviously, you were not. We even have it on video if you would like to see it. My point is not to bash OR. My point was that win or lose you shake hands. The better team won that day, simple as that. You can be disappointed with how your team played or any number of things, but the other team deserves respect. That's all I'm saying.
  7. So what is the excuse of coaches of the girl's basketball team at Oak Ridge when they lost and they didn't shake the coaches hands or the players. The opposing team was lined up (players and coaches) and no hand shake and 1 player at OR did the same (shown by example of her coaches). Surely OR wasn't so caught up in the excitement that night. If OR wins, then everything is great and they are more than ready (usually) to rub it in your face. If they lose, then they want to walk off the court and not acknowledge anyone. These kids need better examples. OR may have great coaches, and they do, but they need to remember what they are teaching the kids by their examples.
  8. Football isn't the only sport where the coaches @ OR refuse to shake hands if they lose. The girl's basketball coaches will not shake the coaches or the player's hands if they lose and some of the players are learning by example. This is sad. Any team on any given day can lose. No one sets out that day to lose, but neither is OR immune from it happening to them. Show some class. What is the quote about being gracious in defeat?
  9. Ohhhhhh----we have the big picture loud and clear!!!!!! I didn't pick the fight--you did. You implicated (do you know the meaning of that word) everyone that bench presses in high range when you started running your mouth about the supplements. I merely stepped in to tell you about Josh. Like I said, a simple blood test would shut your mouth but Josh doesn't have anything to prove to you or anyone else and certainly not anyone with diarrhea of the mouth. A little frustrated because you can't lift that much????? Read your post!!!!! I'm not the only one reading these posts and I'm not the only one taking offense to what you posted. I know OBNOXIOUS (big word, do you know the meaning???) when I read it. Josh reads these posts also, as well as his parents and Smoky Bear fans of Sevier County. They took offense as well as I did. You are correct--you don't know Josh and you don't know what you are talking about so why make a fool out of yourself by writing a post like you did? You insulted Josh and everyone else that benches in the high range. I can't speak for the others (and neither can you), but I know what Josh has done and continues to do and once again, he is clean, AND he can play football. Pretty darn good at football or D1 schools wouldn't be contacting him. Pretty darn good at bench pressing or he wouldn't be at The Arnold Classic 2 years in a row (where you have to qualify) and at 16 years old. He wouldn't be invited to the combines if he wasn't good at benching either. Maybe your friends aren't multi-tallented like Josh, but he can bench in the high range without supplements and juice and whatever else you referred to in your post. If you are that concerned about your post, go watch Josh and take a look at him. He doesn't compare (as I stated before) to the gym rats pumped up on steriods. I notice you didn't mention your gym rat buddies. Ever ask them about their supplements or juice???? No, well, then maybe you shouldn't insinuate others are on the stuff. When you begin lifting at age 12, work at it every day, and you have the build of Josh, you can lift a tremendous amount WITHOUT THE SUPPLEMENTS AND JUICE AND HE DOES!!!!!!!! You can find Josh this Fall knocking the stuffing out of the defensive line, holding 2 at a time off protecting his QB, blocking kicks, making lots of tackles, making big plays, etc. You know little things like that and more that helps to win ball games and protects your teammates. Josh is only 16. You're how old?????? Go play with others your own age. Your half-baked apology is accepted.

    Josh Ward

I'm sure he is talking about Josh Ward of Sevier County. Josh has done track events and actually did pretty good.
  11. Thank you boneal52 and bigman76 for the kind words about Josh. Seems as though others have heard about Josh and all his accomplishments and are really glad for him and wish him well. The hard work does pay off and you CAN BE CLEAN AND NOT ON STERIODS to get it to pay off for you. Josh is an incredible athlete and just as incredible as a person. Thank you again.
  12. Thank you, boneal52!!!!! Like I said, Josh just picked this up at age 12. He has nothing to prove.
  13. 926, don't like the implications of what you are saying. I can assure you that the 16 year old at Sevier County isn't taking any "supplements" that you are referring to. This kid is genuinely strong and has been lifting since age 12. He is in the weight room every day and I'm talking weekends as well. I think a simple blood test would shut some of you up, but Josh certainly doesn't have anything to prove to anyone and certainly not to anyone running their mouth. How much do you bench????????? and what is the name of your supplements?????? If you look at how Josh is built and then look at the gym rats that are always pumped on steroids, you will see a remarkable difference. Josh is clean---enough said. Josh is being looked at D1 schools in football but most are looking at him because of his athletic ability and his lifts are secondary. He is a great kid with a lot of heart and loves the game. He lifts as a hobby, nothing more.
  14. Josh Ward was at The Arnold Classic last year and this year. This year, he benched 551. Actually, received the yes vote for 573 and then they said he didn't lock out or something equally as stupid. He squats 600. Last year the only person close to Josh's record at U.T. Knoxville was former player, Fred Weary at 535. At that time, Josh benched 534.5 and has long since broken that record. I don't know what the record squat is at U.T. Knoxville, but I would say not too many are doing squats equal to 600. Combines are coming up and Josh broke the Nike record last year as well and will probably break his own record from last year.
