Eddie...yes I do know who you are. Nice try to cover your tracks. But it doesn't matter when he said he wanted to quit, the facts are he quit after the Riverdale game!!! He WAS a good coach, but to quit like that just doesn't work well for me. I'm sorry (just my opion). :confused:

Listen....Eddie (and now I know who you really are)just because you think you are close to the program you are really not. Just because you cover them professional doesn't mean you know them. Ask Whitted himself or anybody for that matter. He went in after the loss to Riverdale and quit!!! He told the boys this was it. Sure he finished the season (6-8 record) but he told Dycus and Haley he was done. Now that is the facts Eddie.

After he quit at Riverdale he went 6-8. Before he quit he was 17-2. Now explain that one??? There are some facts. :confused:

Look bottom line Whitted is gone...Slatten is here. Like it or not it is the facts. Nobody gave Tubby a fair shot at first either when Pitino left Kentucky. If you do not like Slatten that is fine, but support the kids and be positive towards them. They are the ones busting their hump for Sparta......not you "Cafe Coaches". DID SPARTA J.V. REALLY PLAY LIKE CRAP.....THAT JUST DOESN'T SOUND RIGHT. I WAS UNABLE TO TO SEE ANY OF THE GAMES. BUT I HEARD THAT COOKVILLE HAD 3 JUNIORS PLAYING ON THE J.V. SO IF THAT IS THE CASE LAKE DUDE, IT DOES SOUND LIKE OUR WARIORS ARE BACK ON THE WAR PATH. AND DIDN'T COKVILLE ONLY WIN BY 2 COME ON LAKE DUDE HAVE SOME SENSE IF YO UBEAT TEAM BY ONLY 2 THAT MEANS THE OTHER TEAM WAS JUST AS GOO AS YOU...BUT THEN AGAIN YOU MIGHT HAVE MEANT TO SAY THAT THE COOKVILLE J.V. STUNK IT UP TOO?????

Eddie, maybe you do not read so good. Someone on this thread spoke of Slatten winning a state championship because he had Kirk Haston and that is the only reason why. If that crazy logic is true than the same can be said of Whitted and Jolley. I am not hear to bash anyone. I just want the facts to be set straight. To win a state championship in anything you must have at least one good player and the rest role players and next thing you must have is alot of luck! And one question Eddie, since you are so close to the program, maybe you can answer me and everybody else a simple question. Why did Coach Whitted after receiving a 20 point thumping at Riverdale go in the locker room and quit? This is only my opion, but I beleive a good coach would have stayed and went through the adversity to test how good of a coach he is. also again in my opion, set a bad example for that years team.

To all doubters....it is true Coach Slatten was blessed with having a tall player at Perry Co., but he still had to coach him, run an offense for him, and manage 13 other players. So the question it seems.....Did Kirk Haston help win a state?? Yes he did, but to say he won it alone is just plain crazy! Ok now a question for you Slatten bashers....take away Brent Jolley or Kyle gribble. Does Whitted win a state much less two?? I can tell you that answer...NO! Whitted showed what happens when you do not have talent.....you do not win and some coaches even quit in the middle of the season after a 20 point loss. So please remember that when bashing OUR coaches that are here now, working everyday to help makes White Co. what it once was......A POWER HOUSE!!! Coach Slatten and Coach Dotson and the Warriors....keep up the good work we are so proud of you!!!!!!!!!! Never mind these people living in the past.

I think that Coach Slatten and his staff are doing the best they can with what they got. Ever program goes through hard times and have to rebuild.....that is what White County is doing. We need to support him and our guys throughout the season. People the players need to hear positive things. I bet they are working hard in practice....be patient Sparta, Slatten and his staff will have us back where we need to be in time. Coach Slatten keep up the good work. Some of us (and not the band wagon fans) are behind you 100%. Go Warriors....beat Cookville!!!!!!!

L.B.....if I read on here correctly, didn't the J.V. of Sparta beat your j.v. and your own coach they have kicked our butt the whole night??? Sure Jolly is gone but look out for some of the same rear kickings that the j.v. gave you guys to come to the varsity!!!!!!

I saw on somebody's post that the junior varsity beat Cumberland? When did they play and where? Does Slatten coach them..why can he beat the j.v. but not the varsity? Who plays for them. Sorry so many questions but just curious :confused: Do they play anymore I would like to see them play sometime. Please if anyone can help.....thanks!

How many state championships has Cumberland Co. won? :confused None...zero...nadda...zilch!!! Not only has White Co. won 2 that's right 2, they did it back to back. Which is un heard of in this day and time.

Hey LB if you are such a fan of Buck and Jets...then pay attention to the game. Gilpen did not even score in double figures tonight against the Warriors. And if you are 6'7" shouldn't you be starting and heck he should have more than two dunks....and the were follow up dunks. Coach buck does do a good job..I will give you that. But you guys need to worry about some of the bigger fish. I would love to see yo uguys against Bradley. And anybody who knows basketball knows that the Johnson kid plays with heart. He goes hard and so did the Warriors. Heck I think Cumberland starts 5 seniors. They should enjoy it now....from what I have seen it will not last long the Warriors are on their way back. I had a chance to see the guys play on Friday, but missed them on Saturday. I heard they played a heck of a game on Saturday. If England would have hit some gimmies and the team had not turned the ball over they would have blown Livingston out. I think the boys are starting to work hard and that is great. i think Coach Slatten and Dodson are going good and being patient with the guys. Could somebody jump in here and let me know who played good for the Warriors on Saturday (Had to work didn't get to see). Do they play at home soon. Do they play Livingston again?? i am not saying that the decision made was wrong, but you should have an idea on how good your football team will be before you scheduke the basketball games. There are alot of good football team in Tennessee. Do you think that Brentwood Academy didn't schedule around football. I am just saying there was no thought process in scheduling this tournament. So play the game! I heard the girls are playing..good luck to the lady warriors!!! And full court sometimes he is not a he!!

I thought it was a basketball game, not football.Who really cares what the football team is going. I mean it is good they are still alive in football...but it is a basketball game...right???? They should have played the game on Friday like it was scheduled. I am sure that the bus was not the main issue.
