  1. Sounds like this was a good game. I'll make sure I watch for the replay. I listened on the radio and the Lady Landers sure proved they weren't gonna roll over and play dead. GREAT JOB LADIES. Take this intensity and carry it with you to Campbell CO and then back home again VS Jellico. Go out on a high note.
  2. The Lady Indians are doing pretty good and appear to have team unity. Coach West is a great coach who has proven this. And now, as has been the case in the past it's tournament time and they always seem to pick up the intensity. The group of youngsters under the direction of Coach West and Coach Marcum definitely have potential for future success. Each player has continued to improve on their skills throughout the year and that is always a plus. As far as the Oneida / Scott thing, it really disturbs me that that is even still being mentioned. Last I heard ALL the students that had transferred from county to city are very pleased with where they are and have no regrets. I'm very glad to hear that. As I have mentioned before I wish the Lady Highlanders the best and I honestly believe they do have some very talented athletes with the potential to win just as other teams do. They also have a great coaching staff to guide them. And for the Lady Indians and coaching staff. Keep it up. Work hard. Play hard. To all SENIORS.....make the most of what you have left. To the Traveler19....what the heck.....this whole thread was a waste...oh well. Enough said.
  3. 4. Scott Lady Landers do have some talented players. A lot of them are younger. So what. Give them a chance. If you read other posts in this forum you hear a lot about young players making a difference. The coaches do have coaching ability but I am beginning to wonder if they have guts / courage to use these younger players. Of course, it doesn't matter now because the season has nearly completed. Hang in there girls. To the seniors, you made the most of what you had....good luck in the future. To the players returning....work hard in the off season to improve your skills and come back next year...PLAY HARD...and WIN. thumb
  5. Who else was named from other teams in the district ?
  6. And 10w40, yes, Oneida is in Tennessee.
  7. Watching a replay of one of their games the other night, VS Oakdale the camera zoomed in on Coach West and he had his hands over his face. Whats up with that ? The girls are still winning for the most part. And they are still a very young team. GET OVER the fact that some of them use to be County girls because they are indeed now ONEIDA girls. Yes the team is most likely doing better with them but so does every other team across the state that receives students from other areas that just happen to have athletic ability. It just happens that way. I don't think the Scott vs Oneida thing should factor in at all. Coach....bring back the intensity you had before... it's called COACHING. If you are a basketball player...it's called LIFE. thumb
  8. CONGRATS to the OMS Indians on their district Championship win. Also to Chuck Jeffers and Caleb Laxton all tournament team and Cody Duncan MVP. Good luck in the Forge. thumb
  9. CONGRATS to the OMS Lady Indians on their win tonight. District CHAMPS ! Also congrats to Kelsey Lay and Christa Sexton all tournament team and Chynna Thompson MVP. Good luck in the Forge. thumb
  10. We all need to remember the family of the Knox Catholic Cheerleader that passed away today as a result of an accident that occurred this past Saturday.
  11. Correction for 12-29 Loudon does play Oneida at 3:30.
  12. I think it is Lenior City, Loudon, Maryville, Oneida, William Blount and Greenback. 12-27 1:00 Loudon VS Greenback 3:30 William Blount VS Oneida 6:30 Lenior City VS Maryville 12-28 1:00 William Blount VS Greenback 3:30 Loudon VS Maryville 6:30 Lenior City VS Oneida 12-29 1:00 Oneida VS Loudon 3:30 Greenback VS Maryville 6:30 Lenior City VS William Blount This schedule may not be exact but I got if from Knox Prep Extra.
  13. Oliver Springs played well....of course, but the young Lady Indians (starting 4 sohpomores and 1 junior) played well. One thing must be stated. Kara Monk....OOOVER RRRAAATED. She acts exactly the same as she did when she played JR Pro at Harriman before transferring to OS. Maybe when the two teams meet again at the TeePee in Oneida , with starter Welch back in action, the Lady Indians can steal one from the Lady Cats. Who knows ? Next year they will battle for the district title. Good Luck to both teams the remainder of this year and in the years to come.
  14. Way to go Lady Indians on the win over Wartburg. Keep up the good work.
  15. Kaz, I can't believe you don't have more faith in the Lady Indians and saying they will win by only 5-6 points . I heard that G. McGee hurt her knee and didn't play their last game. Don't know for certain she won't return for Friday night's game either. If not they will definitely be the underdog. But, however I heard the Cook post is back so that will help. Oneida's Welch is out for a little while with a hand injury but they have enough depth in guards that they should be ok. As stated earlier by Kaz , Oneida is developing in the post and that coupled with the number of players putting up points I have to say also that Oneida will take this "W".
  16. Ok, what happened at Kingston ? I thought we were headed in the right direction utilizing the bench allowing fresh legs and starters rest. I thought we had this one and something went wrong. I'm tellin' ya, the key to success is using this young bench and developing them as well as giving the starters ample breathers. I hope this isn't the beginning of what we see all year. The coaching team is too smart to not see this.
  17. What are your thoughts on the Oneida vs Wartburg game this Friday night ?
  18. I must admit that the game Monday against Oakdale looked a lot better. I thought the coach did a good job of giving his starters breathers and the girls coming in off the bench held their own. That's how it should go if you plan on letting your varsity bench become more experienced. Scott will be loosing several starters next year and this will play a big impact on the success of the team in the years to come. The outside shooting is a plus and a must ! The second half the girls did a great job of moving the ball quickly and finding the open shot. Ellis needs to take it to the hoop more and draw the fouls. The opposition needs to know she is a scoring threat too. The Lady Highlanders had several girls in the scoring column and this is a definite added bonus. Keep building on each game. thumb
  19. Sorry to hear that. Will remember her in prayers.
  20. I think the Lady Highlanders do need Bee back. Not that she is a major factor or anything. If Coach isn't going to dig into his bench a little more than he did VS Coalfield fatigue is gonna set in on his starters. When they have to play a stonger team it will show. I know the old saying is "take a W anyway you can" but it wasn't pretty. There wasn't any consistancy in anything and the offense was entirely the right side of the floor. How smart was Coalfield that they didn't figure that out. Hopefully they can build on this win and learn from mistakes. Opinion stated, but still a Highlander fan.
  21. At the Scott High game the other night Coalfield only had 8 players. It that the team this year. Also noticed a man coaching and not the woman. Was she just not there or has there been a coaching change ?
  22. Heard A. Bee is out for the season with ACL tear. Hate to hear that.
