Congrats to the Oneida Lady Indians on their win over Clarkrange. First ever at the reservation and only the second in history 😊
  3. NEVER in all my rounds (3 players...11 years) with region tournament play did a team put out in the first round of the tournament have anyone on all-region tournament team. I just don't understand why everyone hates Oneida that much that they would deny deserving players that honor. Shame on whoever is at fault. And people wonder why we are so against the rotation of tournament hosting the way it is. The Lady Indians were 4 pts from that championship game but that doesn't matter. Seems to me that the TSSAA needs to come down on tournament host schools with some form of punishment for things such as this. WRONG IS WRONG !!! Whether it be intentionally throwing a game or denying a top four region team players recognition for playing hard and TRYING TO WIN! Proud of these Ladies and how they represented Oneida.
  4. Congrats to Cody Carson for scoring his 1,000 point in just 2 years during the game for Oneida on a 28 point performance.
  5. As predicted, D-4 rocked Region 2. Good luck to all the teams.
  6. So....back to the matter at hand. How does everyone think District 4 will do in the region? My thoughts are District 4 is gonna rock the Region 2 tournament. GO D-4.
  7. I would like to know HOW IN THE HECK did Clarkrange NOT get someone in the running for Miss Basketball in single A. This team has a perfect record and are obviously the Class A State Champs......once again. I know the finalists have already been done and more than likely the winner has been chosen but there are clearly a few Lady Buffs that have contributed to four years of success at Clarkrange. Heck...give the whole team a trophy....they deserve it. Congrats Lady Buffs on a great year. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  8. I seen some results of a few games for 4-A. Coalfield over Harriman (Harriman may be one of the best teams in their district) , Oakdale over Scott County(by 2), Jackson Co over Oliver Springs (only by 8...great job Lady Cats), and Clarkrange over Wartburg (by 23). Any thoughts after these games? Any other results for teams in this district? Nice to finally get started. Best of luck to all teams. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  9. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Go big "O". Good luck Friday against the Kees. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  10. I am not familiar with either team but I did get a chance to see a couple of girls from Henry County play at the Top 100 basketball camp this summer. Jasmine (Sr) and Tianna (So) Porter. Both are very good players. Tianna is one heck of a post player. Good luck to these ladies. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  11. Coalfield was supposed to scrimmage Scott County last night. Any word on how that ended up ?
  12. GO BIG O...........................SHOW THE INDIAN PRIDE !!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  13. This is a verbal committment I would asume since she is still in high school ? But it is awesome. Wishing her the best this year and in her college career.
  14. SO Bulldogplayermom....how did the Scrimmage go between Scott County and Wartburg tonite? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  15. So....back to the matter at hand. Any other comments or input on how the teams in District 4 will fair? If anyone has any news on how the Scott Co vs Wartburg scrimmage goes tonight please post. I wish the very best for all teams and coaches. LETS PLAY BALL !! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  16. It is always a stressful situation when politics gets in the mix of any program.
  17. Just wondering how the team is adjusting to the new coach?
  18. I realize this is not the Cheerleading forum but I know this message board is viewed by numerous people on a daily basis. A tragic car accident claimed the lives of 3 Scott County High School Cheerleaders and has left a fourth in UT hospital in critical condition. I ask that everyone pray for all the families, friends, and fellow teamates and students involved. God Bless.
  19. Once again this district is loaded with tons of talent. It is exciting this time of the year to see everyones predictions. Some good observations have been made concerning the teams. OZ as always has the all important weapon in Kayla and with her supporting troops it is likely they will finish on top. However, they fell short at the end of the season last year and this means they will have to be on their toes early. Coalfield basically returns ALL their starters as they lost a lone senior player who did contribute but didn't carry the team. I look for them to be in a hunt to sting top opponents. Wartburg lost a TON of talent in their graduating seniors. Seniors who were a HUGE part of their success. I understand they have returning players that saw a lot of playing time and this coupled with any that step up to the challenge and they are looking to defend their current title and success from last season. Oneida returns alot of players having 10 veterans. And with the addition of 10 freshman that will be batteling for time on the hardwood I am sure Coach West will have them ready. It may take a few games under their belts to jell but I look for them to surprise A LOT of teams. Returning six players that saw significant playing time and sharing starting duties will prove to be an asset for West. Not being very familiar with the player potential from Sunbright and Oakdale I can't really comment on what I think. The coaching situation at Sunbright could definitely be costly at this time. Oakdale has a coach that has proven himself time and time again. I agree with previous post that he will have his girls ready and we CAN NOT count them out by no means. To all teams in Distric 4-A . . . . GOOD LUCK ! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  20. The resume' of each of the two speaks for themselves. As stated earlier, different players, different times. I think it is totally AWESOME that Laura is getting this chance. Having seen her play on several occasions makes it even more surreal. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  21. Graduating seniors for 2008 District 4A: Coalfield: Newberry Oneida : Lay, Sexton Oliver Springs: Howard, Barger Sunbright : Shelley, Kilby, Foster Oakdale : Byrge, Ruppe, Snow, O'Dell, Horton, Comer Wartburg : Branstetter, Galloway, Lavendar, Staten, Settles, McWhorter Now, from the above mentioned names being those graduating this year, one would think it is safe to say that Wartburg and Oakdale lost a TON OF TALENT!! That being said how can one conceivably say that Wartburg could be any better off than Oakdale? Oliver Springs loses 2 key starters but when you have a playmaker like Christopher how can you not put them as one of the top two teams? Everyone pretty much agrees on that. They also return Hall and Ollis from their starting line-up and judging from what they have returning, not to mention any incoming freshmen, they are going to be a force to be reckoned with. Christopher isn??™t about to let her senior season be anything but her best. Coalfield, judging from what they lost, (only 1) should be good to go in competing for one of the top two spots in the district. I don??™t buy into the hype that is being made about AJ. Don??™t get me wrong, she is a good player but she has a strong supporting cast that is a HUGE piece of the puzzle in the team??™s success this year and still yet to come. I think it is safe to say from the 3rd spot down it will be a toss up. Not saying that all other teams in district don??™t have a shot at the top, because they do. This analysis is based on players lost to graduation and success the 2007-2008 season. Wartburg lost an ENOURMOUS amount of talent that did VERY WELL this past season. Congratulations to the Lady Dawgs on a successful season. But, wake up, they did loose a lot and yes they return key players in Armes and Fountain, have returning bench as well as having a good group of incoming freshman, but to say some of the things being said is mind boggling. I??™m pretty sure some of the ones at the beginning of the season that were dogging the NEW coach Davis are now dogging the old one. I don??™t understand why it has to be all about one being better or not. Both coaches are good people as well as good coaches. Comparing them FOREVER is not a good thing. Dallas coached then and the success or lack of was in his career. Now, the new coach Davis just happened to begin his realm as head coach with a very successful season. News flash, a large part of any coach??™s success is in the talent of the players that make up the team. Give the graduating seniors A LOT of credit. Oakdale too, lost a ton of talent and will return only one starter. She just happens to be one of their top players. They have a good group of young talent in returning bench and probably freshmen. They have one of the top coaches around and he will have them ready next year. Oneida lost two seniors, Lay and Sexton who both were on and off starters for one reason or the other. Lay was absent for a few games after Christmas due to surgery and the team adjusted well. Basically, returning a lot of players with a lot of playing time and a great group of freshmen coming onboard with the coaching abilities of West could spell trouble for some teams. Any team on any given night could come out on top. To all players returning in district 4A: Work hard in the off-season and come back strong next year and prove someone wrong. Focused and ready to reach the top! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
