  1. Jack Harlowe at Bradley Central is one of the greatest minds in the game. He has the ability to take people with any level of talent and make them better. At times he pushes players hard and he demands a lot, but if the players will listen to him, what they will gain as ball players will be great.
  2. I am not from your district or region but I will respond. If I am not mistaken, Mt. Juliet has a couple of real good sophomores. I believe that they play AAU with a girl from Bradley Central and I saw them at the Shelbyville playday last year and they were good then. So I believe they will be pretty good this year. Last year I also say Beech and Hendersonville play and was real impressed with Beech, after all they were state runner-up, so if they did not lose many seniors I bet they will be tough to handle. Hendersonville was a pretty decent team last year, but I doubt they will have enough to hang with Beech or Mt. Juliet. I believe that it will probably be those two teams battling it out for first and second.
  3. Here is just a fun topic to hopefully get some conversation going: What does everyone think that a team will have to be able to run on average this year to be state champions. Last year (in AAA) Houston's girls averaged 19:14 and McMinn's boys averaged 16:01. What does everyone think about this year? Will a team be able to win with two or three studs and the remainder pretty decent runners or do you think they will have a better chance if everyone can run an above average time? Good Luck to All this Season!
  4. My last post was in no way meant to be rude to you or anyone else. I understand that you are referring to the fact that they have quite a bit to knock off from last years times and that is true. I was talking more on the lines of how much time I feel that they may need to drop off of where they are at right now, and I honestly think they are much closer to being able to run those kind of times now than they were at the end of last season. No harm meant in my comments at all; just friendly fire. Believe me, I am very good friends with your coach and respect and admire all that he and you guys do. I am very excited about the upcoming season.
  5. It is amazing to me that neither one of us (Bradley or McMinn) are ranked on Tom's site. He is usually pretty accurate with his predictions, but I think that he messed up this year. Oh well, I guess if anybody goes by his predictions and overlooks us they will get a rude awakening huh. Secondly, I wouldn't say that they have too much to drop. I believe that Caleb is very close to being at the point that Jeff was at last year, maybe even further. He has really worked his tail off over the summer. All of our guys have been working hard plus we are adding a very good freshman to the squad, so I wouldn't let my talking go to far until you see what you are up against.
  6. I do not see why you anyone would think that Tiffany could not play Coach Harlowe's style of basketball. She was great playing Cleveland's uncontrolled style, just think of how good she could be with Harlowe's masterful plays being run to get her wide open for a jumper or a drive to the lane. Plus, you seem to forget how many shots Brittany Jackson used to take in a game. Coach Harlowe knows his stuff and he will run his offense to suit the personel that he has. I think that some people on here are just scared of what Bradley will be like with Tiffany and are just hoping that she will go somewhere else. If she wants to be at a place where she will be seen by D-1 coaches, she will play at Bradley. If she wants to continue putting up big numbers but only because she is the only option, she will go elsewhere. I believe that she will choose the place that she will be able to move on to the next level from.
  7. I wanted to make two comments. First on the game itself. I thought that it was a great game. The Bearettes showed that they were going to be a force to reckon with in the tournament just around the bend. Another wonderful coaching job by coach Harlowe; the enthusiasm he showed and te way he cheered on the girls and kept them motivated was truly enspiring. Good game ladies. Secondly, I wanted to say what great fans Oak Ridge has. They never get upset with officials (unlike some other team in this county), if a mistake is made they blame themselves, they show great respect for the other team, and heaven forbid they even applaud the other team. Coach Prudden does a marvelous job and the fans are great. I hope Bradley and Oak Ridge continue this rivalry for many years to come.
  8. Don't give up on Simpson going to Bradley. Remember, we got one girl last year who everyone said would be at WV. I think she will decide that BC is the better fit for her. Not to mention, if the other good players from Ocoee go she may decide not to break that up. Also, there are a couple of pretty good players coming from Lake Forest. 9. She is definitely going to add a lot to an already strong Bearette team. She has got a beautiful shot and a quick trigger. Just adds another 3-point threat to a great offense. Go Bearettes!
  10. Really, district 6 is pretty weak in A, AA, and AAA classifications. There are a few good teams in A & AA such as Chattanooga Christian(31-5 last year), Tyner(22-8), Sequatchie Co(25-3). However, AAA is probably the weakest district in the state. Last years records were: Brainerd(17-5), Ooltewah(8-20), Soddy Daisy(5-18), Red Bank(3-15), and Chattanooga Central(0-17). Brainerd is a lone bright spot in a dismal district, and Brainerd started 5 seniors last year, so they will have to do some rebuilding.
  11. Region 3: Boys: 1)McMinn 2)Bradley Central (#1 upset hopefully) 3)Cleveland Girls: 1)Bradley Central 2)Soddy Daisy 3)Ooltewah
  12. The course was correct. We inquired and they said that they measured it 3 different times and that it was exactly a 5-K, not to mention all of our times were right around where they have been all year.
  13. It was a little of both. The bronze and the silver divisions were both based on classification, then they said in the letter that the gold was an open race for the most elite competitors. When we saw that it was an open race, we thought it meant that it was not jsut for high schools, so we opted to enter the silver division. However, while the top few runners in the gold were better, the overall strength of the gold and silver division were not that different. Hoover is awesome. Their 5th guy was just a couple of seconds over 16:00 for a 5-K!! I feel sorry for the other teams in Alabama. The race was great, I would encourage everyone to attend. 14. Just exactly what makes you think that Bradley is not that strong this year? Same great players, same great coach, same great work ethic, same great tradition. Looks to me like not much has changed, and neither will the outcome between Bradley & Cleveland.
  15. I am no great predictor, but I think that your Region picks are going to be way off. I do not believe McMinn is going to be anywhere near as good a team as everyone say they are, plus they always choke. As for Brainerd they lost all 5 of their starters and only played about 7 people last year. District 6 is probably the weakest district in the entire state. District & Region will be between Bradley and Cleveland. Go Bearettes! [Edited by BCHStrack1 on 10-6-02 5:30P]

Why the question mark beside Bradley?
  17. what I cant understand is why everyone thinks Bradley isnt going to do good this year...please eliborate on why Bradley should be dropped.. I agree. The main scoring threats for the Bearettes are still there, and have added a talented group of freshmen. They have also worked hard in the weight room and in the gym and have gotten stronger. Not to mention, when it comes to crunch time, Bradley always beats both of the teams you mentioned. So, until one of teams proves they can get the job done against the Bearettes, they should stay below them.

I think that Tambra Crowe from Bradley has got one of the prettiest shots that I have seen in a while. When she lets it go you just have a feeling that it is going in. Sometimes she just seems a little hesitant to shoot. Go BEARETTES!!!!
  19. No offense taken. Just trying to keep up with who might be going where. Any insight as to where the other players at Ocoee might go? What about Lake Forest? Any good players there this year?
  20. What makes you so sure that she is going to go to Walker Valley?
  21. thinkcarefully, you are absolutely right that it is wrong. But, then again this school board is not always concerned about doing what is right. I have asked around to see if there was a higher power that we could take this matter to, but so far no one has been able to help. If anyone out there knows anything, please let me know. Also, I believe that TnWarEagle was thinking about applying at Bradley but there is a good possibility that there were no job openings in the department that she teaches in, and maybe she just decided that she would not let a few pushy individuals run her away from her job. She is a very strong lady.
