  1. That is a load of crap. Obviously you know nothing about maryville football....How in the world could anyone say that about the man who REBUILT maryville football. If you think i dont know what i am talking about i played for Hammontree and GQ. Hammontree was the most influential coach i have ever met in my life. He was more than a football coach, he was a difference maker on and off the field. His vision and determination to bring back Maryville football what it is today is unmatched. Oh, and who ever said that crap about the 98' team just being loaded and any coach could have one with that group, you go back and ask anyone on that team what they thought of Coach Hammontree....
  2. i cant believe nobody has mentioned the Love family. starting with Mark Love who played at Ut. he also had some brothers that were very good athletes. Marks sons Brad, Ben, and Logan(who is the starting fullback/free safety currently) all played for the tornadoes. Ben was an exceptional offensive lineman when alcoa won it in 2000.
  3. rebelyell with all due respect i know what im talking about i won state titles under both men. ill just leave it at that.
  4. Im happy for all you guys that love maryville and all that. however, this praise about GQ........ i dont want to rain on anyones parade, but ill take tim hammontree over him ANY day. just my opinion. other than that i hope the rebs pull off another championship.
  5. Are you kidding me, Maryville recruits? Buddy, peopel have been saying that for years, I won three state titles at MHS and everybody on my team lived in the city. Maryville just flat out has better kids, better academics, and better athletics. People have been saying that stuff for years, a nd all the people who cry have one thing in common, MARYVILLE BEAT THERE TEAM!!!
  6. rebelsman, you mentioned mark love. ben, logan, and brad are like family to me. i think it would be nice since you played with mark to tell how great of a athlete he was. rumor has it he wasnt to shabby.
  7. to ad a few other names: Gil King LB, Mike Johnson OL/DE, Tony HoustonRB, Doyle SatterfieldDL/OL, Joe CostnerQB, and Keith BrockQB/DB/kick and punt returner and i once watched film of steve gilbert , unreal until he got hurt.... theres to you Old school fellars..l
  8. recievers: sweetland, maples, wilks runningbacks: TJ brock(what would the 2000 record of been without him? 0-10?), Carl Stewart, Burchfield and mynatt/Mike Potter oh and Ricky Maples quarterbacks: Toki, Tommy Beaver, Cade, and Jason Phillips (sorry im not familiar with the old school guys dont take it personal... O-Line: 98 team D-Line: 98 team through casteel in mix also Linebackers: Spradlin,Andrew Healy, Matt Blankenship, Josh Theriot, and my personal fav. maryville coaches

coach pink is well liked by football players, dont know about teacher, i had him.... hes tought but i was better in math because of him. he would make a excellent head coach. gaylor will not leave and should stay outta baseball. he has a great passion but only in football and thats where he belongs. i played both sports for him. hes a good coach but should stick with baseball
  10. hey great job rebs on another, and thanks to all of you special people that thought of tj during all this. i could only imagine how he felt watching that game. anyways congrats again rebels
  11. i played on the 98 team and with the guys now, i wouldnt forget how good last years team was, i would take last years over this years. i know we lost once, but the special teams was probably better and the line backers and nick was a heck of a highschool quarterback, he lost one game as a starter. it was a balanced team all around. but i would never take another team over 98's. trust me that was a league of its own. clemson dad knows and rebelron ask jason who was the best
  12. brad merrit, brandon waters. tj brock would of been if he hadnt been hurt all year, but the first two without a doubt should of been on the list.

    Rockwood Football

hey to all you all that want meadows back... he tried to get the job at rockwood two different times and was denied. you all had your chance, hes a good coach.
  15. hey i just wanted to add that tj brock is back. i played with the kid for many years, and trust me, rebelron knows, that come playoff time tj along with his teammates will make a huge statement. he brings something to the table that no one else has.... 2 rings with a a few allstates and mvps to go with it. now thats just me braging on him, if you knew him personally, he is the modest kid alive, but i just thought i would remind of few people of the one of many weapons sweetwater and ol' bill dupes has.
