  1. That is a load of crap. Obviously you know nothing about maryville football....How in the world could anyone say that about the man who REBUILT maryville football. If you think i dont know what i am talking about i played for Hammontree and GQ. Hammontree was the most influential coach i have ever met in my life. He was more than a football coach, he was a difference maker on and off the field. His vision and determination to bring back Maryville football what it is today is unmatched. Oh, and who ever said that crap about the 98' team just being loaded and any coach could have one with that group, you go back and ask anyone on that team what they thought of Coach Hammontree....
  2. i cant believe nobody has mentioned the Love family. starting with Mark Love who played at Ut. he also had some brothers that were very good athletes. Marks sons Brad, Ben, and Logan(who is the starting fullback/free safety currently) all played for the tornadoes. Ben was an exceptional offensive lineman when alcoa won it in 2000.
  3. rebelyell with all due respect i know what im talking about i won state titles under both men. ill just leave it at that.
  4. Im happy for all you guys that love maryville and all that. however, this praise about GQ........ i dont want to rain on anyones parade, but ill take tim hammontree over him ANY day. just my opinion. other than that i hope the rebs pull off another championship.
  5. Are you kidding me, Maryville recruits? Buddy, peopel have been saying that for years, I won three state titles at MHS and everybody on my team lived in the city. Maryville just flat out has better kids, better academics, and better athletics. People have been saying that stuff for years, a nd all the people who cry have one thing in common, MARYVILLE BEAT THERE TEAM!!!
  6. rebelsman, you mentioned mark love. ben, logan, and brad are like family to me. i think it would be nice since you played with mark to tell how great of a athlete he was. rumor has it he wasnt to shabby.

    maryville coaches

coach pink is well liked by football players, dont know about teacher, i had him.... hes tought but i was better in math because of him. he would make a excellent head coach. gaylor will not leave and should stay outta baseball. he has a great passion but only in football and thats where he belongs. i played both sports for him. hes a good coach but should stick with baseball
  10. hey great job rebs on another, and thanks to all of you special people that thought of tj during all this. i could only imagine how he felt watching that game. anyways congrats again rebels
  11. i played on the 98 team and with the guys now, i wouldnt forget how good last years team was, i would take last years over this years. i know we lost once, but the special teams was probably better and the line backers and nick was a heck of a highschool quarterback, he lost one game as a starter. it was a balanced team all around. but i would never take another team over 98's. trust me that was a league of its own. clemson dad knows and rebelron ask jason who was the best
  12. brad merrit, brandon waters. tj brock would of been if he hadnt been hurt all year, but the first two without a doubt should of been on the list.

    Rockwood Football

hey to all you all that want meadows back... he tried to get the job at rockwood two different times and was denied. you all had your chance, hes a good coach.
  15. hey i just wanted to add that tj brock is back. i played with the kid for many years, and trust me, rebelron knows, that come playoff time tj along with his teammates will make a huge statement. he brings something to the table that no one else has.... 2 rings with a a few allstates and mvps to go with it. now thats just me braging on him, if you knew him personally, he is the modest kid alive, but i just thought i would remind of few people of the one of many weapons sweetwater and ol' bill dupes has.
  16. Sweetwater will go out, put points on the board, and call the dogs off. The only thing that matters now is wins and healthy players. The polls don't count the win margins don't count, just get to the Boro. Go Cats.
  17. T.J. will be back in uniform this week, but will see limited action. The second game of playoffs is when he hopes to be 100%. Go Cats to the Boro.
  18. 10 - 0 Region Champs and perfect season talking is over OSHSman it playoff time.
  19. Oliver Springs has got to be the worst losers I have ever heard of. If Oliver Springs is so good then they will show it in the playoffs, because their season stunk at 5 - 4 and they might get beat by Wartburg. Sweetwater is going to finish 10 - 0 and region champion and all your talk doesn't tarnish that one bit. Sweetwater now has to go out and win every week or they go home. There are some very fine teams in the 2A race and Sweetwater is one of them with a good chance to bring it all home, but the rest are going to also try to bring it all home. The last team standing bring home the golden football. Go Cats
  20. Sweetwater is fortunate enough to finish a perfect season with a team they can beat what ever they want to. The coaching staff and players have no reason to beat up on Harriman and risk any injuries. Nov. 8th the real season begins and nothing matters except wins. Sweetwaters, and every other team that makes the playoffs, goal is to win the next 5 games and bring home the golden football from the Boro. Talking is over its time to walk the walk. Go Cats
  21. Where did you go to school diddy? All I can think of when i hear you talk about MHSA recruiting is what a moron you are. You probably never played football, you probably set alone at the lunch table, and you've probably never been inside Maryville's locker room so you don't have a clue whats going on. Try to do a little better job at hiding your jealousy and don't ever say anything negative about one person that plays at MHS. I played 3 years with Carl Stewart and he is a class act all the way. I suppose you said the same thing about Alcoa when they won the state championship to didn't you.
  22. WHAT? RECRUITING? Whoever you are diddy, you obviously don't know anything about Maryville High School or MHS football. MHS has a tradition of great athletes. I lived in the county, but my parents wanted me to go to Maryville because they went there and beacuase they wanted me to have a great education. I wanted to go to Maryville since i was 5 years old, and sports had nothing to do with it. So just becuase you probabaly have a son who plays at WB or Heritage don't get mad at us because we win, hey somebody has to be the best! Maryviile-however many they want to score Clinton- however many MHS lets them score.
  23. all i can say is wait for tj to get back. if you dont agree wait till playoffs. dont argue back just be patient and wait. thats all im going to say.
  24. Sweet2obadgrul is not t-rocks girlfriend, but she is a good example of the wonderful new friends that T.J. has found in Sweetwater. Maryville is the best football program in the state and he left alot of great friends, but he is living large and loving it in Sweetwater. He is not rehaping to just play again this year, he is rehaping to help Sweetwater make it to the Boro. Sweetwater 35 Oliver Springs 7 Look out for the killer B's big Bradley and Burton. Goooooo Catsssss.
  25. If you want the lowdown on T.J. go to Insiders.com and go to the runningbacks to #82 on their list and it will give you all his info. Recently he has recieved letters from Clemson, Mississippi, ETSU, TTU & Carson-Newman. However, there has not been offers as of yet. [Edited by sweetreb on 10-17-02 2:17P]
