  1. @Farmboy: What team do you follow? Sounds like you just don't like Whitwell.
  2. Both have had great runs over the years. They are hardly "2 year starter varsity programs" as was quoted before regarding who Whitwell plays.
  3. I have to say that in the history of Internet boards, this is one of the most stupid threads ever posted. Is it any wonder people outside of the Sequatchie Valley make fun of people who live there? Geez All Mighty! How about actually staying on topic and using ENGLISH for crying out loud. Now I remember why I don't come back to this board as often as I used to. Heck, fellas, I grew up and was educated in the valley and my country english is not half as stupid or half as bad as what I just read. How about giving the rest of us who would actually like to read about the game a break. Having said that, WHS 24 Jasper 14. Go Big Red!
  4. Whitwell was up on Grace 27-6 at halftime. I would hardly call it a "close" game. @Farmboy: Take the scheduling up with the TSSAA. It's not Whitwell's fault. Besides that, Whitwell (Class 1A) has beaten 2 traditionally good Class 2A football programs (Sequatchie Co and Bledsoe Co) and held a Class 3A Grundy Co. to 7 points. I think that earns them a few bragging rights about their defense.
  5. Nice to see you are putting that bledsoe co. education to good use...
  6. Hehe.. ok.. I didn't realize that. My nephew is a freshman on the FB team.
  7. Is "Radio" a Whitwell native or is he from somewhere else? If it's who I think it is, he has a son playing who is a freshman. He was really annoying last year during the middle school games.
  8. Whitwell High School.. 78-81.. offensive tackle...too ugly to play QB
  9. Not sure why Sequatchie predicted 56-20. I guess he felt a little euphoria there during the parade. There isn't much separating these two teams. In this game, the 2nd half was different from the first.. Seq. pretty much dominated first half, but Whitwell came out in the second and moved the ball up and down the field and held off Seq. The thing that killed Whitwell was fumbling twice... once inside the 20 and the other on the 5. It was a good game though. I'm proud of Whitwell for playing as hard as they did. It's tough to come back from 20 pts down on the road. BTW: That was my first trip to Seq.'s new stadium.. It's real impressive. (Note: It's been a while since I have seen a FB game in Seq. county, so i'm not sure exactly how "new" it is.)
  10. Are they a private school or not? Kids at all schools work hard. Some have to work harder than others. I'm not knocking the players. I posted regarding the fans.
  11. Pirate1achamps: I don't usually agree with your posts, but in this one I totally agree with you 100%. It seems real hyprotical of the BB fans with the rhetoric they are spewing. It's not one you would expect from a "Christian" institution. It sort of reminds me of the old soviet union dialogue with terms like "superior coaches and athletes, dominating, etc). I also remember (and played) against BB in the old days when EVERYONE dominated them. I can't seem to remember anybody bragging about it because it was almost embarrassing. Having said that, one of my old teammates has a son on this year's team ... who happens to be from Whitwell. I'm happy for him and the success he is having. But when I read posts from some BB fans, it just really turns my stomach. I just take it with a grain of salt and move on. I also believe that BB belongs in DII. I don't mind playing them, but they shouldn't be in a D1 region. Those who say the playing field is un-even are correct. I say lump them in with ND, Knox Catholic, and BGA. If you dominate those teams, then brag about it.
  12. Yet, somehow, you discovered the Internet...... Go figure.
  13. Is Silverdale's coach Bill Oliver the same one who coached UTC back in the 80s?
  14. I live in Joejuh, so I have been out of the loop a little on Tenn. HS football. Can someone tell me why the jamboree is so early this year? It was usually scheduled the week before the opening week of games. On another note, I really hope WHS isn't as bad as people are saying here.
