You wouldn't happen to be a little bitter because this mediocre team soundly beat your Mt. Juliet Bears would you? Without a full line-up didn't Smyrna only lose to Hendersonville by one match? Doesn't make sense to me. I'm not a Smyrna supporter, but I believe these guys are doing some good things.

Against Father Ryan and Ravenwood, those were JV or Freshman matches. Ensworth has some pretty young wrestlers.

I wouldn't doubt that one bit. Mt. Juliet is traditionally a solid team. I think this match doesn't really represent any of the teams there that night. How about Beech! Taking down Overton. Is it that Beech is that good or is it that Overton is down?

I think some of the teams in the new Region 8 are being overlooked. You guys in Hendersonville, Mt. Juliet, and Beech need to keep in mind that you have added Wilson Central, Lavergne and yes even Smyrna. Lavergne has a state medalist returning and Wilson Central is always tough. Also, just because Smyrna had a tough year last year, they are always a strong team. From what I have heard, they are pretty stacked from 119-215 with a little 103 pounder that could turn some heads. (I've seen him wrestle and he will be a name many will remember by the end of the year).

Tullahoma is looking strong this year. Do U think they will win all of it in Distrct IX? I've seen them wrestler this year and they look really tuff.

From what I have heard, Smyrna is trying their hands out with a milder pool of teams to help build wrestling in Middle TN. The feeling I get is that they are trying to give some guys a chance at success who might not normally do well at a bigger tournament. My hats off to Smyrna for doing this. There are a lot of new guys to the sport here in Middle Tennessee that just start in 9th grade. Hope they pull this off. The teams that I have heard are coming are Oakland, Riverdale, Ravenwood, Lebanon, Shelbyville, East Lit, Lavergne, Blackman, Independence, I just don't know the rest. But this could be good for wrestling in Middle TN.

He said this year the weight density check said he could drop to 106. Watch out, he's a bad little guy.

SiegelTackle...I appreciate your enthusiasm, but do you even know what you are talking about? You picked the obvious for Region Champs, but then the rest...what are thinking? Ryan is Div II, not even in Region V. Next, Riverdale over Smyrna, I don't think Riverdale has beaten Smyrna in the last 6 years. Why don't you spend some more time researching before you start posting...I have read several of your posts and you are so off.

The rumor is false about Prisayane(Rostum) from Smyrna. He is a senior and will be back. From what I have heard, the hydration test was successful so going 112 will be no problem. Watch out for this guy, he is a beast.

Man Dr. Evil, What is your Beef with Smyrna. I'm not a big fan, but you seem to harrass them every year. What's the matter, did one of them pin you once? It seems like anytime someone from Smyrna asks a question you jump on them like they are whining. Cut them some slack. They have improved over the last few years.

Nope, got your facts wrong. 1st of all, I am not a Smyrna wrestler nor associated with their team. But I do remember the match at the Rutherford County Duals. siegel had no forfeits against Smyrna. They had a full squad.

Replace Country Boys with Thugs and then you have the right equation. Although, SeigelTackle, I think those Country Boys thumped you guys something like 78-6 last year.

From What I have heard... Rostum quit Brentwood has Holliman returning Warren Co. will be stacked this year. Lavergne will probably have a few that will pull some upsets Tullahoma has two time state medalist - Max Gessler Franklin not only has returning state medalists, but also has a group of Freshmen that are better than ever. Paige has geasly and their 112 pounder Ravenwood will have some strong wrestlers this year Blackman will be strong with Meredith(State Runner-Up) and Aaron Martin. Also Proctor will be tough. Top 5 teams in the region: 1). Franklin 2). Brentwood 3). Warren County 4). Blackman 5). Tullahoma

Didn't Inman beat Hayes of Overton ealier in the year? I think Inman has only lost to the Dickson Co. kid and the Gann kid from Wilson Central...(From what I heard, Inman was in charge this whole match and would have won, but made one slight mistake)

Henderosn was beaten by Inman from Smyrna at the Brentwood Tourney. It was a fluke that Inman didn't win his region. Gadie is really in the wrong spot. The top bracket at 215 is going to be exciting to watch.

You can say that all you want, I just don't see a guy taking home his gold medal and saying..."WOW this thing isn't really all that great...If only I could have wrestled with both divisions combined." The guys who get the medals know in their mind, they are the best of the best and that should never be taken away from them. Div II got what they wanted, now they just need to keep quiet about Div I not being nearly as difficult. That it is a watered down championship. The way I see it, Div I is growing rapidly while Div II is staying the same.
