This is a best coach thread, lets stick to that. I would go with Jayson Smith at Seq. Co. they do compete and beat teams that are better than them year in and year out. Come to think about it so does Coach Boyton at Bledsoe.

The box score is wrong. It should read MArion 18-9-8-16=51 Howard 16-19-14-36=85. Marion controlled tempo in the first and handled Howard's pressure basically in the first half. The third Marion forced a few shots and lost tempo. The forth saw Howard's pressure take over with there bench playing really well. As it got out of hand both teams emptied the benches.

First, where were they from? The plate umpire needs to go to some clinics, he motioned with his hands and told where every pitch was. Not very professional looking. Next, what happened in the middle innings when WV 's pitcher was warming up and there Coach came out to argue with the plate umpire?

Well first lets go to the "Crushing of Marion" Yes the score was 10-0, I think 1 or 2 scouts on hand and from the way Fults was hitting, I think he may have stole some of Tobys show. Toby pitched well but Marion did put the ball in play. The score was a little misleading. Marion had 6 errors 4 in one inning when grundy did most of there damage. The score should have been 3-0 going to the 5th when the bases were loaded, instead it was 7-0 and Jody Jones hit into 123 DP. Not sure about the tie-breaker except what I heard, playoff no matter the scoring. Would be great to play it at Tomahawk, Coaches Ladd and Melton should work on that.

I believe one parent had some negative things to say about how he was to hard on them etc and about 10 came to his defense. They said he had been up front with them about his discipline and they were for it. I admit he is intense, speaks his mind and works the kids hard, heck he had 6:45 am workouts that no one missed. As a matter of fact not one person quit, if it was as bad as you say I think that would be just the opposite.

One must remember......Grundy has many players back from last year. Woodlee on the mound has greatly matured, Sitz plays basically year round, and it shows in HR,avg, and the mound, Brewer has major potential beyond what he even realizes, Fults, great athlete, just starting to understand, good role players, Melton, Hutcheson, Caldwell. The Arbuckle kid is no push-over on the mound or in the field Marion on the other hand, 3 Seniors, 2 with a lot of experience, 2 jrs, one with any experience, and 6 soph, good now but will be a force when they are Srs (if they are still together) thats another topic! Marion will try to out baseball you, the way Grundy use to play. I guess what I'm saying is Grundy is better on paper but when does paper matter especially when Grundy and Marion play, just ask Colquitte. Should be a good game. #1 seed on the line if Marion beats Hixon tomorrow.

Marion Co. or Whitwell?

Marion Co. 12 Whitwell 0- Jody Jones throws 1 hitter, Whitwell-Fine pithed 5 innings, Austin relieves, Marion scores 4 runs in the top of the 6th.

Coach T the Marion at Bledsoe was entered incorrectly. Marion defeated Bledsoe 11-1 both games. Please correct this on the scoreboard.

If you are talking about the Warrior Playday at Marion Co. I believe it includes Marion Co., Seq. Co., Lookout Valley and South Pitt.

I think those 2 teams won the reg. season but Marion won the tourn. I believe. I could be wrong though. I would have to agree with you on the predictions although East Ridge will be tough.

Don't know much aboutt Whitwell except they have a new coach, I think last years coach is at Marion as an asst. South Pitt. Nothing Marion- I believe did well in the tourn. last year and didn't lose a whole lot. Look for them to ready come tourn. time again.
