I know of very few coaches who think they know it all. As a coach you have to be willing to learn, but you also have to have confidence in your decisions. Just because you do not have experience playing that particular version of the game does not preclude you from being able to coach. I have been around football coaches who did not play the game but were great students of the game. I have seen many fastpitch softball coaches, who although they did not play fastpitch they have become great coaches. Coaching, like playing is a learning process, unfortunately your mistakes as a coach are held to a higher level of scrutiny.
