  4. My understanding from talking with HW coach, is shes has a broken nose, but no other structural damage. It was a scary moment. I am thankful she seems to be ok.
  5. Softballchck; What kind of comment is that? Obviously you have not seen these girls play. Or maybe it is just sour grapes. Great game by both teams.
  6. I believe Hickman Co. pitcher had 12 k's. It was a fine pitched game by both.
  7. Championship game starts at 5:00 at Fairview High School
  8. My understanding is Centennial/Franklin at 4:00 Winner Plays Brentwood at 6:00 Winner will play Hickman Co. Tommorrow; Time and place still to be determined.
  9. Early in the day it was unsure whether the fields would be playable. A decision had to be made by the Tournament director and due to the forecast and that the fields would not be able to hold anymore water the decision was made to push it back. Right or wrong that was the decision.

sbcoach: No one associated with HC did any trash talking to B'wood before the season or early in the season. We had players and coaches make it clear that the trash was not coming from anyone associated with the HC program. Your post seems to insinuate that this may be HC also. Believe me that is not the case. We have immense respect for B'wood; and until they have 2 losses in this dist. tour. they are the team to beat. If HC faces B'wood again, we know we will have to play our "A" game. But that is the case no matter who we play.
  11. I know of very few coaches who think they know it all. As a coach you have to be willing to learn, but you also have to have confidence in your decisions. Just because you do not have experience playing that particular version of the game does not preclude you from being able to coach. I have been around football coaches who did not play the game but were great students of the game. I have seen many fastpitch softball coaches, who although they did not play fastpitch they have become great coaches. Coaching, like playing is a learning process, unfortunately your mistakes as a coach are held to a higher level of scrutiny. [Edited by Observer3 on 4-2-03 7:45A]
  12. I have to question the always playing your best players. When the situation is right it helps to get younger or less experienced players some experience. You never know when you may need to rely on them. This is a team sport and you have to build your team. And you take the oppurtunities to do that when you can. Sadly, some see it as an individual sport and are only concerned whether or not "their" best player is playing.
  13. What goal differences are you speaking of? I know player dedication may be different because you have some on the High School teams that play other sports, but I wonder what goals would be different.
  14. I agree, but this thread was not started by a Hickman County player. By last nights performance HC has some work to do. Hopefully when the teams meet again HC will play at the level they are capable of. Then we will see a good hard fought game by both teams. Congratulations B'wood, you showed us where we want to be.
  15. It might help if we win district first, before we start thinking about state.
  16. abulldog03, Why don't we just save all the big talk for the field. As I recall the Bulldogs were 0-3 last year against Brentwood. Brentwood has a great team, one capable of going all the way. Are the Lady Dawgs capable of beating Brentwood? Sure they are, but they have to do it on the field, not on this board. All the big talk in the world will not accomplish a win. Besides, the Lady Dawgs are to classy to be trash talking. They understand that your play on the field, and how you handle victory and defeat, speaks louder than words.

  18. Leadership is an important part of any team, but contrary to popular opinion leadership does not have to come from seniors to be effective. To be a leader you must be willing to sacrifice, you must be dedicated, and your personal goals become what is best for the team.
  19. Predictions mean nothing. Making sure you and your team are mentally ready to play means everything.
  20. My post was to slickT3P6 not to you Bobby22. Sorry for the confusion
  21. SlickT3P6, are you a player, coach, teacher, or just someone who thinks they know football? [Edited by Observer3 on 8-30-02 1:16P]
